Fun bar and atmosphere for the most part, but not dog friendly and you don’t find out until you walk in. How can you not be dog friendly, with a patio, in Austin? Not to mention, I’ve definitely seen dogs on the patio here before. Kills it for me.

Traveled to Austin for a conference and decided to stop by this joint as a recommendation from Google. I was not dissatisfied with the food or location. This place is better attended with someone else. I went by myself but it was still a pleasant experience. The inside had really dark lighting. I sat outside on a nice day but could really use some TVs. Got the mean green burger, which was pretty good. Did not try mixed drinks. Prices are good.

It’s official. Californians have taken over. Since when do Austinites like an overload of FETA CHEESE on their burger? Onion rings were good. Staff is good. Just not the same dive bar it used to be.

Unexpectedly great burgers. If they were open during the day I'd be eating there before or after doctor visits at the hospital. Staff is pretty great as well!

Sure, the patio is nice but the inside smells like a septic tank and management has the decorum of a barn animal. You'll have a much better time at one of the numerous other bars or breweries in North Austin.

What a cool little hangout. Very friendly bartender. Good beer and good selection of comfort foods. Love the selection of old movies that play on one of the big screen.

consistently consistent. quality and service does matter to these guys. my husband really enjoys a neighborhood bar/restaurant. he plays darts, watches one of their multitudes of flat screens. haha he says he's the old guy at the end of the bar. he mentioned that there are basically 2 groups of people that hang out at the hideout - the inside people and the outside people. the place has a great vibe - inside or out. it's low key, in a great location. best of all, there's a chill clientele - I'd say predominately 25 & up - no kid stuff. def NOT a meat market. it's blissfully UN-trendy. pros: quality, consistency and THE best burgers (omg the bun/bread yumm). cool bathrooms cons: juke box ps. had a drink at their new Pour House (so sad their previous location had to be razed. so painful to see an old historical austin building get demolished). I met the night mgr. wish I got his name. very kind host. addendum: 7/2021. still THE best! addendum: 2/9/2022. still rockin it! wish yall would bring back the fried fish and chicken tenders ✌🏼

One of my favorite spots for a beer. The patio is the best and their chicken sandwich is good.

Loud dive bar. Loud. Dive. Fun. Burgers cooked to order (rare these days). Tater tots? They're tops. Not many drafts but all solid. Full bar. Food quality and beer selection punch way above what one would expect. Well done.

It’s just all right. We came here for chicken tenders, but they’re not on the menu anymore. It’s not super great for meeting people also I would say. Lots of small groups that all stick together.

As much as I love this place and have been going here for almost a decade, the food has gone downhill. Their fries are soggy and their burgers are smaller. Edit: just realized hunter left six months ago. That explains the decline. Dude was the only thing keeping this place together

This place always impresses me with friendly staff and good bar food. I have only ever been here with large groups of unique people and we are always treated with respect and professionalism

I met up with friends, and this place was awesome, not what I expected. The atmosphere was relaxed and drinks and food great. Definitely give it a try.

Very dark inside if that's your jam, awesome outdoor patio. Food was great and drinks were cheap. What else could you ask for.

As the name mentions, this is the perfect hideout spot for a quick drink or meet with friends. The parking can get crowded, and the location on Google Maps is a bit off, but overall, it is a wonderful bar. Everyone there is super nice, and the drinks are priced reasonably.

I like the quiet energy but don't pour two shots when I ordered one . And make sure you ask if you can take plates away before you take them and ask if we are done. You just fingered my food without asking if I was done. You must ask before you take ppls food away. Covid is still real!

This place was booming when we went there. Lots of customers for the handful of staff working there, but they still took pretty good care of us. Their sound system had an app so you can queue up the music you want to hear. The good was, by far, the post part of the visit. I had a black and blue burger with onion rings, while the other guys in our group got The Works. The meat was excellent, and so was the seasoning. These burgers were juicy without being greasy, and the toasted buns were perfect. Parking was limited, so definitely carpool or come early if you don't want to park on the street. I'll definitely come here again!

HideOut is a great neighborhood bar. Good selection of beers, good food, good prices. The staff is also very chill, they let me know I couldn't vape inside but that I could outside. Super cool place.

Nice laid back bar where it’s not too loud to talk. Good food and drinks. We brought our own card games and played, it was fun!

Add bacon and cheese to the chicken sando and it's the best in Austin. Go Bills!

I just like this dive bar. Nice selection of beers on tap and a full bar. I didn't have any food this time, but they use to have great burgers.

Hard to find, so the name is fitting. Great burgers! I loved the A-1 and my friend liked the mushroom burger. I will be back to try more. Eliminated a star because of the rotten egg smell in the establishment.

Best bar in North Austin! Their food is amazing and the back patio is large and plenty of outdoor storage. I'd recommend going on Tuesdays when they have tacos! 10/10 will go again!

I'm way late in posting this, but we chose the hideout pub to host my boss's conference and the hideout staff went out of their way to accommodate our party and was outstanding in their service. I was meeting several of my managers for an event and when one of our food orders had been missed, the venue manager took off an entire round of drinks for our company and coworkers to make up for it. We had 11 people to our party, and it was incredibly generous of them.

Bar over rated, food was bland and had no flavor. Drinks were decent but nothing to brag about. I wouldn't come back.
