We had a 40th birthday and sports watching party. It was a fantastic all around experience. We received so many compliments from our guests on both the venue and the staff. Katie and Steve were amazing and helpful and friendly and really just wonderful! Definitely book your next event here.

Great bar! Service was great. If you enjoy live country and western music ... this is your place. We came back a second night to see Chris Ray. You can even put on your dancing shoes because the music will move you. Great beer selection. Friendly bartenders. This will be your destination!

San Jac Saloon is a fun place and I would highly recommend it as a part of your Austin experience. Austin has a lot to offer, but San Jac is one of the few places that truly represents Austin as a part of Texas. It is a traditional saloon with live country music. It has a main floor, a loft section, and a second bar extension on a second floor called Jacks. The place was fairly crowded but the bar tenders were on it! We never went without drinks. They spent time talking with us while maintaining a spotless bar. If you are visiting Austin and want to experience all the aspects of Austin culture, San Jac Saloon is a must do!

I have a terrific time going to the Sunday comedy open mics at 9PM. I've been going for a year now and it's always a great environment and very friendly to experimenting with humor. Steve the bartender always keeps it a good time with his smiling demeanor and welcoming attitude. Wouldn't trade it for anything that could be on my schedule.

Places like this make you fall in love with the city! Being in Texas for the very first time and in less than 3 hours being surrounded by such an incredible atmosphere, amazing music and friendly staff was a dream came true.  @tylor_brandon band guys please European tour now! Cannot wait to be back!

Funny and friendly bartender upstairs in The Jack. We were able to bring food in to eat. Clean bathrooms. I wish I got more pictures of the inside. We had a great time and will probably go again.

Super chill bar with great service. Very cozy spot so feels like a private concert with the featured live band. We saw Tex-Hombres tonight and they were amazing. They take requests as well and they can play anything! They interact with the crowd and are humorous as well. Great time!

Go to San Jac Saloon and talk to Dublin Johnny(ie?) about how Irish you are. It’s his favorite thing to discuss. San Jac is a great dive bar with quality bartenders. Brian has a magnificent beard and Johnny loves an honest conversation. I will be visiting this bar every time I come visit Austin, and it’s pretty much exclusively to see Brian and Johnny. If you’re extra nice, Johnny might even sing you a song.

Privatized the upper floor for a professional meeting's after party. Katie went above and beyond to meet our needs as well as our budget - expansive bar options, live music, delicious buffet, amazing space... The whole team absolutely delivered!! My team and our guests were able to relax and enjoy a taste of Texas while pursuing conversations started earlier in the day. And the Saloon is ideally located at the heart of Austin's famed nightlife. If you're considering this venue for a large party, I cannot recommend them enough; and I can't wait to come back and enjoy the regular bar as well.

Bar tender was great, happy to chat and recommend drinks and local places to eat. Even offered to take pictures of my friends and me. Seemed like a genuine no frills place and also has dual ring toss game in the back. Great for a little tipsy competition

Amazing bar! The guy at the door welcomed us in with his chant to "win" and from there we were hooked. We were blessed to hear the Tyler Brandon Band and stayed for 3 hours and danced the night away! Thank you for a great ladies night out!

The best bar in Austin by far. Seemed to be the only/one of the only ones still playing (good) live music and not a DJ. We stumbled in without doing research because it was near our hotel but ended up coming back 2 additional times. Brian is the best bartender I’ve ever met. Friendly and knowledgeable about the area, part of the reason we went back. The other bartenders were all nice as well. Definitely recommend coming here, can’t wait to come back.

Dirty sixth has a reputation. However this place is definitely the place to go to any day off the week. Live music, good prices and company that loves country. If you are out of town and looking for that one spot to go. This is it.

They have reasonably priced drinks for sith Street. The have live music, and an upstairs and downstairs bar. Also every Sunday they have a comedy open mic upstairs. I'd recommend going to that because they have 3 dollar lone stars. All the bartenders are cool But Cass is my favorite. Oh they don't serve food, but they let you bring in food.

Went here with a few friends on a Tuesday, just looking to show them what a fun place Austin is. We showed IDs walking in and the woman checking them seemed happy to let us in, until she decided to immediately chase us down and tell us to leave because she felt we were too drunk to be served. We politely asked why she felt that way, (given this was our first stop of the evening) and she stated that our pro athlete friend was dragging his ankle (he's currently recovering from an injury). Would not recommend if you are actually looking to get a drink and hang out because they probably won't serve you anyway. Go to the bar next door and save your time and money.

Great spot on 6th Street. Live music all week with multiple bands per night. Raised seating on the first floor and a second floor balcony. Great service. Good beer selection

Matt and Cassie are super great at the bar. Drinks are reasonable and well poured. I was walking by and heard "Pablo" inside doing a solo acoustic set and dropped in for a listen. Great stuff, Pablo quit at 8pm and he joined a band that started back up at 9pm, but they were so loud I couldn't stay, literally so loud you had to shout to anyone right in their ear to be heard. Sorry guys, that is just too much and I already have hearing problems. Maybe back it down from 11 to a 9? I came back the next day to hear Meg Groves, who did some covers and original tunes, great stuff. The bar doesn't have food, but they encourage bringing in takeout, I grabbed a box from the happy chicks down the street. Nice place.

Great drinks, great service, great music. The duo played “Jackson” & “Mama Tried.” Love the old school country.

Really cool spot. Retains an original and authentic Texas bar feel in the midst of an ever-changing 6th Street. The live band was superb, and the entire bar would sing along at times. For a break from the live music, we found the upstairs area an excellent place for conversation, sports watching, and general relaxation. This is a bar where you can both party and relax without leaving the building. Jeremy was our main bartender, and did an excellent job in balancing everyone he could. Didn't notice a skipped beat with him. And with the 2nd floor, Irish dude was on POINT!

I went there on a Sunday afternoon during Pecan Street Festival. There was a pretty good crowd and I don't think it was just because of the festival. Still, the bartenders were friendly and helpful. The male bartender knew a lot about Austin's history. That was refreshing as well
