Absolutely horrible service at the bar. The bar tender was the rudest person I’ve ever met. Horrible experience for our entire out-of-town group. In Austin for a week and everyone here is great except your bartender. Sadly an experience I will remember from this trip. The female worker was an absolute joy and she was running around the whole night!

Horrible, horrible service. Not sure how the overall rating is 4.4. Honestly, pretty upset I didn't read more reviews. Went to the upstairs patio bar, extremely rude bartender who basically didn't speak, answering in nods only. No plates provided. 5 of us sitting, only 3 sets of utensils given. I have no words, but I have all the words...never, ever had an experience like this. It's laughable. The only saving grace, was the food that we actually did order....was pretty tasty. but NOT worth the visit.

Went to have a few drinks with family n Friends an left before getting into a fight with bald and aggressive bartender who couldn't make a decent Moscow mule and then wanted to charge me for the drink which he tossed after we told him that it tasted bad. Apparently he can't handle criticism very well and it reflects really bad on the whole stablishment since not manager got involved to avoid for the situation scalating.

I think I'm only rating it a 5 🌟 because of Mike Valliere. He was awesome!! He knew his 🎶 music and songs. Besides that I know the (teenagers (children) whatever) that were there aren't the bars fault. But it's just allot of college students everywhere. Overall nice place to visit. A must go.

Those Potato Skins are way better than they have to be for bar grub. Also a great bourbon selection as well!

Fair price on drinks, has a nice view of the area and a good vibe. We had food as part of a special event and I thought it was very tasty, especially the cheese and bacon potato skins.

Great rooftop with Pinthouse Hazy IPA on tap. Funky. Great music. Games to play with your friends and barkeep knows his stuff. Sliders are a good deal although the melted cheese is a bit messy (covering the plate and bottom of the buns). Tasty and slightly spicy. Nice.

Sat at the bar and was never asked if I wanted anything. There's a reason why there was nobody else in there. Enjoyed meeting a dog named John Wayne and the door guy was super cool. Guess the bartender was just having a bad day? Unless you're looking for a quiet place to sit and be ignored, just go to any other bar.

Shiner's Saloon is the quintessential dive bar gem in downtown Austin. The vibrant atmosphere, NIGHTLY live music, and a big selection of 32 beers on tap make it a must-visit. There's something for everyone and is more low key. The bartender Jacob downstairs was kind and helpful helping us find a beer we like. I'll definitely be back for more good times and live tunes!

Loved hearing Mike Valliere and his fellow musicians sing and play tonight! Such an amazing performance by all!

Great place with less tourist BS. Gorgeous bar, amazing beer selection and mixed, friendly staffed, reasonable prices and free live music. What's not to love.

The chef here is amazing - "off menu" vegetarian nachos were absolutely amazing! Thank you so much. Great local beer selection too.

Absolutely a great evening. Photo op with the Frost Bank Tower was my plan, met some nice people who worked at Shiner's and a few surrounding areas. It took a little bit to get my food order, the bartender was super nice. Thank you for the step back in time for my genealogy research here as well. Laid back and chill time. Not busy as it was a weeknight. I recommend, I'll definitely return! Thank you, everything was clean too!

Good roof top atmosphere, fairly close to the Paramount Theater. Brisket nachos were really good, better than most bar food.

Noisy rooftop. Pretty good beer selection, esp considering it's closely tied to a specific brewery. I recommend the slow-pour porter with nachos, sliders, or kolaches.

Great music (country that is) and Shiner Bock on tap + many other good beers! Rooftop bar in great location

good luck trying to get a drink here with less than an hour wait. bartenders have no idea who to help. came here to celebrate a friends birthday and the bartenders ignored us for basically an entire hour (the bar was basically empty which was even more infuriating)

The rooftop bar was a fun stop! The bartender was super nice and there was a little two person band performing. We had a few vodka club sodas but were disappointed they don’t have Tito’s. The potato skins were the best ones ever!

Walking past... Heading back to my Airbnb and the speaker out the window got me! Sounded like it was a full band... But no, Drover Mad working his foot pedals to build incredible tunes! What an experience on my first night in Austin!

Cool rooftop bar, drinks and vies of the city. Great spot to watch the games. Baylee is an awesome bartender

Just a hole-in-the-wall joint, and we loved it. The whole place has a "seen too many drunken nights" vibe, with signs of wear and tear all over. Drinks were reasonably priced and staff was friendly. The bathroom was a bit dark, but it is what it is. There was a sign near the entrance saying something like 'Topless Waitresses', but they were nowhere to be found 😅

This was a first visit to this off sixth bar, and I really liked it. The beer was good and cold. The rooftop patio and bar were relaxed and had a great vibe. Definitely would head back to Shiner's over some of the other options downtown.
