The coziest wine bar in Austin - the place for meaningful, quiet conversations, subtle local live music, first or 100th dates, small groups, or solo work time with a glass of wine. Fantastic wine list, tapas - like cheese, meats, pizzas, and Mediterranean shareables, and the best vibe.

I booked a reservation for around 2 weeks ago and when we arrived they had lost the reservation and couldn't find anywhere to seat us. Additionally, they fully ignored me and everyone else in my party for a a full 15 minutes. I don't doubt the wine and food is lovely and the place is very cute, but the service was absolutely terrible :( pretty much everyone sitting down had empty glasses and plates.

This is one of the coziest places in town for wine. The wait staff is so nice and it's super chill. It doesn't get much cozier than this - comfy couches and chairs inside and tables outside. Super quaint, very OG Austin, not at all pretentious. The crowd here is classic Austin vibes! The parking can be challenging on the weekends so I suggest parking on the other side of Lamar on Lee Barton Dr. and walking over.

Love this place. It has the perfect mix of a fun atmosphere that is still conducive to conversation! Great charcuterie board selection as well!

I was pretty disappointed with this place. I found it on the Nudge and was excited to sit and sip wine in a cozy atmosphere and have to pre dinner appetizers. The wine was fine and the atmosphere was cute. But I don’t think it’s super worth it for the price. Me and my partner each got a flute of 3 wines to try and we got two appetizers that came in plastic plates that looked like they were made for a toddler. The bread and butter we got that was $8 looked like it came from the grocery store and was so small. The salmon we got tasted good but also looked like it came from a package. The staff was inattentive and unfriendly. Overall I was unimpressed. It wasn’t worth the $75 we spent there. It has potential to be a great place but I think they need to step up their game.

This is more than a wine bar, it's a wine experience. The staff is trained and educated before the first pour. Probably the most authentic example for true wine lovers in the Austin area. Their somme, Gretchen, is hands on having visited the premier vineyards of Europe. Working one on one with some of the most venerated growers in the world, she and House Wine's owner curate the best wine list in Austin.

We were wandering around and saw a funky little place right behind P. Terry's burger joint #1 and decided to check it out. The walled grotto with tables was perfect for relaxing with a bottle of wind and some appetizers. Service was not quite up to par (it was a little busy) but the guitarist picking and singing made it wonderful.

Patio area is very colorful and adorable. Wraps around side to accommodate larger groups. Wrought-iron chairs and tables with umbrellas, and wooden benches along the sides with cozy pillows and padding add the cozy vibe. Inside is just as quaint. Front porch has live acoustic music on many nights. Large selection of wines and beers.

Nice cozy place for appetizers and wine sipping. Lot of wine choices by the glass. Nice and 70ish environment inside.

This wonderful wine bar has really expanded their selection over the years! They were always good but now they’re great. 💗 Very precious and delicious. It’s a great place to hang out for an evening and a great stop before or after catching a show at the Zach!

Incredibly cute and creative. Frosé is bright and refreshing. The Mediterranean summer wine flight is excellent, so well rounded and perfectly picked - the Sicilian Pet-Nat is the only thing I ever want to drink again. The Mountain white flight is also a good choice for bright minerality. Loved The Trio & Polka Dot pizza - the price point on the pizza was a little expensive but definitely don’t skip on the salty snacks!

Such a sweet gem! Love the $8 Monday night wine-by-the-glass special paired with an inspired open mic full of talent! And the interior design is on point!👌Hello floral wallpaper and velvet chairs with macrame wall hangings and wicker side tables! Love!

Go on Sunday! They have wine discounted, making it an affordable visit. Waitstaff was very kind and they have heaters outside to help keep you warm during there winter months.

Cute atmosphere, fantastic little stage for cozy performances, and the staff is brilliant. More than 80 wines in house and the servers can't be stumped, they're excellent at recommending the right wine for your palette

I had a bridal dinner at house wine and it was PERFECT. The new little room they have opened up inside is precious. Monica was our waitress, she was wonderful, and ensured we had a great time. Would recommend 100000 times again.

If you're looking for a cozy relaxing place to enjoy yourself, with friends, family or on date then give it a try. They have a nice wine selection and things to eat that go along with it.

Cute place but just too overpriced. Two tiny 1 oz spinach empanadas cost $11. Edible but nothing special in the presentation or the flavor. A 5 oz pour of a bland red was $16. Water served in a plastic cup. Skip it.

Very cool spot. Great open mic. The artists were really great to listen to. But parking is definitely an issue and the service outside wasn't very quick. Good food though.

So quaint and relaxing. They have live music on weekends and a great selection of wine. I enjoyed the fruity cheese board as well, and the green chile and chicken empanadas were delicious. The portions are small, so don't come hungry. Come ready to nibble and sip.

Lovely space to meet up with friends. They have a very thorough wine selection. Charming interior but their patio is the main draw. I've been visiting House Wine for at least 8 years.

House Wine is my favorite go-to place! I always say to those who haven't heard about it, "its like a local coffee café, but with WINE!" The atmosphere is lovely, cozy, laid-back and the staff are always so friendly and knowledgeable. It is the perfect place for a date night or a chill day with friends. I always recommend House Wine to anyone looking for a great, local place to hangout and have a drink, or a few!

Great atmosphere and wine. Tapas leave a little to be desired. Just meat and bread (not toasted) on the charcuterie.

If you're looking to unwind after a long day or just relax on the weekend, House Wine is your place. It's a quaint little spot with small rooms where a glass of wine can be enjoyed and even some tasty small plates as well. From full bodied reds, to light white wines, and even some sparkling wines as well, it has a taste for anyone looking to sip and just let the day slip away. There are even a few beer choices if wine isn't your thing. The wine choices are from around the world, and flight options are available. Everything is currently ordered via an app and paid for. The service team then brings them out to your table with minimal contact for those worried about the pandemic. There is also a nice outdoor patio space in which dogs are allowed as well. So if you don't like you leave home without rover, then coming here is the next best things to home. Give it a try, you won't regret it.

I come to this place for the Open Mics on Monday night hosting some of the best singer songwriter talent in Austin. Even if I was not a musician I would find comfort in this place. They know their wine and the cheese boards are amazing. A low key and intimate vibe. Take your date here. Fabulous Customer service especially Gretchen 🥰
