Great place to spend an afternoon (or morning!). Wonderful drinks, service, and atmosphere - especially on the covered patio with the music going!

Delicious brunch! Great Jazz! This was our first visit to Hi Hat and we love it. Lots of great beers. Small and fun atmosphere. We will be back.

I’ve had the pleasure of coming here since 2014. The food it always on point, made fresh, farm to table. I haven’t anything from Hi Hat that wasn’t amazing. The beer list is also a perfect complement to the food on menu, especially their food specials. I’m so glad they’re a staple of East Austin, and I always look forward to their weekend brunches!

What an amazing experience. We went directly here from the airport, and what a great first impression of Austin. You place your order at the bar if you are sitting in the restaurant. We just sat at the bar rail. Very friendly bartender who knows how to make amazing high-end margaritas. Order the lunch special, which was a cornbeef sandwich with coleslaw. The flavors coming through each bite were an amazing combo. The fries on the side were great. There was plenty that my wife and I split this sandwich. We met the owners who are amazing, friendly people. Even the regulars coming in were very welcoming. They also have a stage with live music inside. They have a covered front patio for outdoor seating, too. Such a great experience!

Came in for a late Saturday brunch / lunch. Everything was amazing. The French toast was so thick, I was cutting into it like a cake! The meat on the Ruben was so good. Great service, great lemonade, great selection of hot sauces. 5 stars from me! We’ll be back!

Check their board for specials like 1/2 price wine night, otherwise it’s not very cost effective BUT to be able to walk or park easily and enjoy craft food and good music then it’s worth the splurge!

Not worth a second visit, maybe not even a first. Good live music, although just a tad bit too loud. Friendly service. The food is just not there at all. Burger was as basic as it gets maybe a bit above average. Fries were a bit stale and chewy served with some sort of tomato sauce with a hint of spiciness. Chicken sandwich-esque dish was sad, well seasoned but over cooked chicken breast on top of a hard piece of bread. Poor choices of cheese for both burger and chicken. Side salad was served with low quality arugula and warm tomatoes. Beer selection was okay, didn’t any cocktails. There’s just nothing that would make want to come back, and at the price point it’s unjustifiable.

I had a hard time feeling at home in Austin until i waltzed into Hi Hat a few weeks ago. I’ve been back ten times and I love the entire staff. They make everyone feel at home. Each member of the team has a great palate for beer (their rotating list is phenomenal). I also recommend getting a different thing on the menu each time you’re there. They even change their pizza toppings weekly (and the sauce is up to standard for a fussy New Yorker like myself). Seriously; get your butt to Hi Hat. It’s the best.

The sunday breakfast was delicious and the live music great. We had the Mexican style eggs Benedict which was unique and i would order it every time i came. The server and bartender were friendly as well.

Solid beer selection, well presented and filling (prob presmashed not fresh) avocado toast. Enjoyed the jazz trio.

Nice listening room for funk, jazz and more. I had an excellent and fresh salad paired with the best local craft beer. My partner had a delish craft cocktail. Highly recommend this cool Austin musician owned business.

A real neighborhood jazz house. Small place w a nice front patio. Some of the best players in town, especially the Sunday brunch. No cover charge. The Breakfast Sando is a delicious mess and the Caesar Salad is special. Beer and wine available. Check the specials board on the right as you enter. Order at the counter with table delivery.

Nice bar with decent food and great friendly staff. Unfortunately, however, discovered after leaving my card had been charged for my meal and someone else's

Found this place randomly, and it’s a great spot! They had live jazz music on Tuesdays and all day happy hour for wine, beer, and other select beverages. Food was great too! Wings (half priced on hh) and burger were delicious.

My first visit and I’m hooked! Came here tonight to see the Bobby Noble Quartet-they are AMAZING!! Such great music to enjoy a chill atmosphere, Wine Wednesday (1/2 of bottles of wine!!!), the Lion’s Mane mushrooms and pork cheek schnitzel. I’m in love 😍

Food is a bit rich for me, kicked up southern. But it is delicious, nice biscuits, great breakfast sanso and top shelf Caesar Salad. Good, but small, selection of tap beers; similar wine choices. You'll find something you like to drink, but maybe not your best taste. I go for the fabulous music and great staff. The owner is frequently there and he cares about your experience.

The Roast Beef Sando is the best sandwich I have had in quite awhile! Whatever grilled “Ambrosia Bread” y’all use is magnificent! The roast beef was excellent as well, and I loved the Au Jus and horseradish mayo served on the side. I don’t think I will ever order anything else when visiting this great little Bar & Grill! The Staff was also very attentive and friendly! Great spot!

Will come back! Service was great and food was amazing. $3 Mimosas & $11 Food items. Loved the Jazz music playing during brunch on Sunday. They accommodated our group of 8 right away and checked on us regularly. Definitely recommend for brunch.

I have a good friend who lives in the east Side, and thanks to her I’ve discovered a few good places with great food, Hi Hat being the latest The Eggs Benedict description in the menu did caught my attention immediately and ordered them just to confirm that indeed they are a delicacy to the palate, so good that I had to come back a week later with another friend to show him how good they are, and the same time to try the Portobello Burger myself, which turned out to be delicious as well It’s a shame that with this COVID situation there’s no live music nowadays, but I hope it comes back soon Regarding the service, the 2 ladies at the bar are really attentive and gentle The only negative thing I experienced happened on my first visit, when, after finishing brunch with my friend and her family and once they left, I stayed a little longer to check the menu in detail, and for that I grabbed one of the menus from the bar, which seems to be disposable due to the current situation, and took a photo of it, it was a “new” menu, so I put it back at the bar, and then there was this old man, who seems to be the owner and was sitting at the bar, grabbed the menu “discretely” and bend it, then handle it to the bartender indicating her to dispose of it, but he did it in such a way as if I had leprosy or some kind of desease, he tried to be “discreet”, but ended up being too obvious I mentioning this action because despite it, I returned the next Sunday and brought a friend with me to know the place and try the food as I mentioned already at the beginning, but in that second visit, I noticed people coming to the bar to check the menus and they were reusing without them being disposed, and of course, that made me think of the situation I described and wondering what was about me that made that person dispose of the menu I used for less than a minute a week before Despite that, I’m gonna keep going to this place just because the food is good and the service by the bartenders is nice, hoping I don’t go through that situation again

Food was very good. Beer selection was large but missed the mark for me. Shouldn't all Eastside pubs have East ciders original? Especially in July. A fries option with the burger would go a long way as well.

The food is so good! Some of the highlights included the pretzel and cheese and the roast beef sandwich.

The established is extremely small, but the service was excellent. You have to order from the bar, so I recommend finding a table first, then going up and putting in your order.

The people here are cool. And the food is good. I like the vibe of this joint. We ordered some beer, eggs benedict, Mac n cheese, and spicy brussel sprouts. Can't say that I've ever had chorizo in my Egga Benedict so that was interesting. I'm not sure if I love it but it's def decent. I'll have to say the mac n cheese stole the show hands down. I added it to my order after the bartender and another customer both recommended it. I don't normally eat mac n cheese but I'd def order theirs again!

We tried the special which was the pizza de jour and it was very good. The service was great. They have a decent selection of beer but the beer list which was on a board was not up to date. The prices were also a little high.

Just stopped in before a show down the road for a light eat and got a salad with steak, and *oh my god* it was cooked to perfection. Perfectly medium rare. Crispy outside, red inside. 👌 The bartenders were super friendly, and I wanna come by and check out some jazz some day.

I love this place and the people. Best burger in Austin and great selection of craft beer. And now they have the crunchiest and delicious fries. Thanks friends for another great meal and experience!

Steve and his team are back open and slinging brews and gigantic pretzels. They've also upgraded their liquor license to offer more than beer and wine should you desire. Our group of 20 or so took over the area under the new awning and it felt quite cozy.

Very cool what I would describe as a small divey hipster type bar. Beer selection is good, but not great. Food is fantastic, small menu, but everything on it is delicious especially the goat cheese nachos!! Bartender seemed irritated the whole time even though it wasn't busy, but the goat cheese nachos were too good for me to even care.
