Very cozy and amenable hidden gem in central Austin. As their name suggest, they are specialized in mezcal but the whole place, while tiny, has a great distribution between inside and outside seating

Techo Mezcaleria & Agave Bar is a great speakeasy on Manor Rd. If you are a fan of mezcal and/or tequila, this is the place for you. Small bar with a patio too (with a heater). Ian is a great bartender and took care of us. You should definitely try the “stuff in a cup” (Ian’s favorite mezcal cocktail with passion fruit). The spicy mango mezcal margarita was also enjoyable or you can sip one too. Great spot to to ring in the new year.

Really great hidden gem on top of School House with a great mezcal selection. I really wish they had egg whites for sours though, I would have loved to try their take on a mezcal sour. The seasonal summer watermelon cocktail is pretty tasty. Really cool atmosphere but limited seating. Watch your knees, those iron chairs and tables are low.

This is my favorite mezcal bar in town because the bartenders actually know their stuff, unlike some of the other places in Austin. I really like their mezcal cocktails that highlight the smoky flavor of the mezcal, but they also have really good micheladas. This last time I went, they had Charro, a Mexican Pilsner that I’ll be sure to be look out for now because it was so good! The place is also a vibe with a dark, intimate room where the bar is, as well as a shaded patio outdoors.

Charming, cozy, competent. Here you’ll find an incomparable agave selection lovingly curated by a student of the spirit (thanks for the journey, Ian). I’ll be back any time I find myself in Austin. Seek!

This bar is a dope gem in Austin! Definitely a place for intimate conversation and amazing Mezcal!! I had a Mezcal flight and it was easily the best decision I made. Ian is very knowledgeable and will guide you through your journey based on whatever your price point is! The aesthetic alone is truly amazing!!! You will not regret a trip to this bar!!

Nice hidden gem. Had to ask a waitress at the restaurant the bar is on and she directed us to enter the restaurant next door and look for little signs guiding the way. We passed the entrance and hit the patio, before realizing the doors up the stairs are where the bar is located. It is tiny, emphasize in tiny. We luckily got a table in the alcove. Very relaxed setting and great drinks.

This place is a little gem in the neighborhood serving good drinks as well as authentic artisinal mezcal. However the price is a bit steep for around $20 per shot. If money isn't a factor for you then definitively make a visit. Maybe the night I went the staff was having a bad day, I understand we all have bad days. However, for the price I was paying for drinks I received sass from the bar attendant that ruined the experience for me a bit.

Cozy little bar. Visited on a Thursday so we were lucky to find seats. Had the El Sancho and Toqué. The drinks were delicious and the vibe was very chill. Because of the coziness, the tables are really small and the place is dimly lit. It was a bit of a challenge to read the menu by candlelight. Overall, though, I dug it all.

I love the cocktails from here. Have been 4-5 times. That being said, it's now been twice, once in June and once during the winter, that I've seen cockroaches running up the walls indoors. Not sure if I will go back again. They have bug problems.

Great service from Dylan. I had the Listos Verde, twice, and it was delicious. The only way I'm coming back from Atlanta is if this drink is on the menu.

Love this place. Meant to come for a long time but never got around to it. Kept slipping my mind. Went there last month and was really good. Definitely not cheap, but great cocktails. I really like mezcal and they did some tasty things with it. One drinks that I was curious about was the one with mezcal *and* absinthe both in it and the bartender (who was super nice) said it was actually probably her favorite one and they balanced each other out in a surprising way. Tried it and it was super good.We had four different cocktails total (two of us) to just try different ones. Haha. The one with absinthe was definitely my favorite of them all. The little place is awesome too. Great atmosphere. Little tiny intimate room you can go into in there as well. Will totally come back again.

Ian is awesome and skilled (and friendly) as always. I brought a friend who was visiting and he couldn't stop talking about how tasty the drinks were and the cool space inside. The outdoor patio is awesome as well. Great for bringing a friend or a date. Was truly the only place I missed and craved during the pandemic.

First time being at a Mezcal bar. Didn’t realize how small the place would be and only sits about 20 folks inside. There is an outside area also, but it was too chilly to stay outdoors. Service and drinks were just phenomenal.

Awesome little bar in east Austin, chill vibes and good drinks. They do it right here with their cocktails and have a variety of mezcals and tequilas for tasting.

I am hard-pressed to name a better spot to end any night of the week in this section of Manor than Techo. Creative cocktails and multiple offerings for mezcal enthusiasts. Friendly bartenders and frequent brand activations with knowledgeable mezcal reps. Their patio on a breezy Texas night or the intimate inside seating both offer a pleasant taste of the city. Best for groups no bigger than 6
