Simple pub menu of sandwiches, salads & soups, done well. The house made pickles should be sold in bulk, they are so good. The house made potato chips are thick, wavy, and crunchy! The house chili in a bread bowl will fill you up all day and then some. The selection of beverages is outstanding and the prices are moderate to downright cheap at happy hour!

Awesome pub for beers and bomb sandwiches. The inside is totally pubby and the outside patio area is cute and quaint, perfect for your fur babes to hang while you grub. My BF orders the godfather and I get the Reuben. Mmmmmmm....so yum!

This is a dive bar. And that's not a bad thing, but know that when you're going in. I'm personally not a fan of dive bars, so keep that in mind with my review. With that said, the food is great. Really good. The food service can be slow. The staff is more "What do you want?!" versus "How can I help you?". But, I guess that's the dive bar vibe. Definitely worth checking out for Wednesday's trivia night or if you like dive bars.

If you want to go one more time to get your beer cheese soup in a bread bowl before they close, go for it. But know that the staff has entirely checked out, you might be over charged, and customer service will be at a minimum. Good luck. Edit to up the stars because they fixed the overcharge

First visit here and I really enjoyed it! It finally got down to the 50s today, so it was the perfect opportunity to get a soup bread bowl from gourmands! I ordered the soup/salad combo - Cobb salad with clam chowder bread bowl. The chowder was a little on the sweeter side, which I found very unique to other chowders I've tried. The bread bowl was PERFECTION -- soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The kettle chips and side pickled vegetables are also something to talk about! I just love pickled vegetables. Another plus is that they have their own parking lot and a good amount of street parking available.

Where do I begin? The QR codes donโ€™t even work correctly with the menu, and when I asked if I could order at the bar, the hostess scolded me and made us feel very unwelcome right away. All we ordered was a soup and sandwich, and it took over an hour to be served. When dropping the food off, the waitress again was unnecessarily rude due to my companion asking someone in the kitchen when it might be coming. After the wait, the soup was lukewarm and was simply broth. It took forever to close our tab out, and they were extremely rude to us as we were leaving, due to them knowing we were unsatisfied. Luckily, the building has just been purchased and they are shutting down in a few weeks. Nobody will ever have to experience or put up with that poor service & mediocre food again. I am thankful to know I will never have to return to this poor establishment.

Foods great, service is terrible. And they like it that way, arrogantly so. There's always dirty chickens on the patio too. If that's your vibe, this place for you. Charge for hot sauce, that's just rude.

This is a great bar to relax at and have a good time. This could probably be considered a dive bar, however it's clean and has that "old pub" feel. I recommend the queso with salsa. Definitely add some hot sauce to the salsa, because it could use some more kick. There are plenty of board games, ski ball, ping pong, and foosball options to keep you busy.

The state law says you only have to pay servers/bartenders $2.13/hr and then patrons have to come in and subsidize your business by tipping on top of this. You need to do better and pay all your employees a proper living wage - $20/hr min since you also don't cover health benefits. Increase the price of your food if you have to but stop forcing customers to tip on top of your food and drink prices. If you can't manage to do this, then you don't need to be in business. #abolishtippingintexas

My Ruben was fantastic. Artichoke appetizer is special. I like the app ordering and payment system; easy to use and cool options. Parking is a bit dicey, but you can always find a spot on the road.

Food was good, its always been good. Only complaints is the new service routine. Took a while to get someone's attention for a question and no one checked on us after the food was delivered. You have to pay and tip through the app in the very beginning, I would have applied a lower tip.

Gourmands has been one of my favorite places for sandwiches in town. For the 10 years I've been a customer they've always been consistently amazing. Here's to another decade!

I freaking love this place. We always go after a long Walnut Creek bike ride for soup and a breadbowl. The pro tip is to get a bread bowl and then get extra soup on the side!

Everything was amazing. Atmosphere and service were 11/10 from the jump and the spinach & artichoke bread bowl was phenomenal. Happy hour from 4-6: $1 off wells, drafts and select apps like the divine spinach and artichoke bread bowl. Paid less than $20 after a generous tip for a round of drinks and an appetizer that left us so full we barely finished it (but of course we did cause weโ€™re arenโ€™t criminals). Weโ€™ve been here twice in a week. Thanks for a great experience

I had the Cleopatra and it was so fresh. I had flavors popping from everywhere. My friend had The Last Meal and from his reaction it was GOOD!!! Oh and them chips that come on the side DELISH!!! That taste is definitely one of a kind and Iโ€™m going later to grab my husband one on the way home. Itโ€™s that good. Had to post all up in your space photos. Check them out if youโ€™re a sandwich person. The soups are good as well. We had the clam chowder and broccoli and cheese.

My friend and I were looking for a causal place to have lunch when they recommended we come here. I saw they offered 1/2 sandwich, soup, salad combos so I was definitely delighted. I got 1/2 a Bacchus sandwich which has all my favorite ingredients on it (chicken, bacon, poblanos, onions, Swiss, avocado all on a hoagie). It was pretty good too. For my other 1/2 I got the Broccoli Beer Cheese Soup (which comes in a bread bowl). Now this was interesting as the soup is infused with Shiner Rock. Good flavor - definitely unique! All in all, this is a good place to come with friends as the atmosphere is laid back. I had a good time and left satisfied with my visit. Would come back again.

Just what I was needing for lunch today! The 1/2 soup and 1/2 sandwich was a ton of food. I got the potato and bacon soup (comes in a bread bowl) and the second deadly sin sandwich (turkey, bacon, swiss, fried avocado and sprout with green goddess mayo). It was all really good. They have a full bar and a ping pong table in the back. This is a good place in East Austin.
