I've been frequenting this place for 10+ years and it hasn't really changed at all, which is a good thing. Its an unpretentious dive with decent taps, and a chill atmosphere. This building is probably bordering on historic status as far as old Austin bars go, and if this place ever tanks I will probably move away from ATX all together. VCSC, please never stop showing pirated uncensored horror movies, and please never change the jukebox. I love you.

The bartender boasted that not a drink πŸ₯ƒ is over 10 dollars πŸ’΅! If that doesn’t make you holler, I don’t know πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ what will! Drafts 🍻 were 5 bucks πŸ’΅. They have a jukebox 🎢 and outdoor seating πŸ’Ί! There are 4 TVs πŸ“Ί for sports and other nonsense! Worth a stop and a 🍸 or 2 or 3!

Really chill dive bar. Always good music playing. The grilled cheese food truck out front has really good food. Love the bartenders, Peter and Tommy! They’re great company.

My favorite dive bar in Austin. The staff are amazing. Great knowledge of their beer selection and can easily point you in the right direction if you are not sure of what you want to drink. They also have a pretty good jukebox and everything is also very cheap!

I'm writing this review as someone who frequented this bar often over a period of 5 years when I was in Austin, then moved out, and dearly miss a few things about Austin. This is certainly one of them. Violet Crown Social Club is welcoming to everyone. The bartenders are incredibly friendly and drinks are super cheap. If you're into craft beers, they have a rotating tap of some really great beers, be sure to try it out. They also have a cocktails menu, so its definitely not just for beer drinkers. The patrons in general are incredibly friendly and I think they embody "Southern Friendliness"; without a doubt you will get to know some interesting people. There is an outdoors area to enjoy the Austin nights, and also an indoors area with an incredible amount of seating area at the bar if you just want to grab a beer and relax. If you have a group, you can grab one of the cozy booths. Indoors, there will often be some movie or TV show playing with subtitles. As someone who didn't grow up in the States, it was pretty great to see some rather eclectic movies that I would probably never have otherwise. Personally, I think that's the best part of Violet Crown: you can just come in, grab a tasty beverage and just watch some movies and talk about it with patrons and the bartenders. Its been a while so I don't remember most of the bartenders names, but I do remember the famous Chris Fish. If he's still around, it won't be hard to find him, he is the friendliest person on the planet. Overall, Violet Crown is an amazing Austin Institution, something you won't find anywhere else. Be sure to pay a visit and tip very well, because the booze is cheap!

The last hipster dive left on the Eastside. Enjoy the dank vibes while they last!

A bit pricey but decent enough atmosphere. Had a nice send-off for one of our servers here.

Dimly lit bar with a diverse crowd. They sell half bottles of good wine. They have a nice sized patio outside to sit and enjoy the heat.

Good prices on beers. Can smoke outside. Only problem is the wifi is too weak to reach outside. Extender needed.

Lovely spot but the limited selection on AMI for songs was an issue

One of the best of E6th. Divey spot. Patio rocks so hard. The music box is controlled by guests so go put your record on hunnies!!! The drinks are strong as hell. The service is amazing their covid procedures are seamless and cute. I am becoming a regular I guess :)

Nice spot to go to get away from the 6th street crowd but not go too far. Mellow vibe, big outdoor patio

Great dive bar. Not too expensive. Annoyed that you guys have a jukebox but what you can pick is extremely limited though.
