A great atmosphere. I came here excited since Ive been before and love it. Sat at the bar for dinner. The deviled crab app was pretty mediocre. Alongside that I had the elk sliders, which were bomb but suggest ordering some of that blueberry sauce on the side, it was lacking and complimented it so well. For dinner I had the elk rack which was cooked excellently it was paired with some maitake mushroom which was battered and fried and tasty. Again, the reduction on this was bomb. I had the carrot side with it after asking the bartender his favorite side. It kinda sucked. A bit undercooked and totally lacking on the goat cheese which is what steered me towards them. Drinks were solid. All in all not my favorite place in town anymore but still very solid for drinks and unique meat dishes.

What a delight! We were the last table sat of the night and were treated like gold. Jeremiah was the BEST! He was hospitable, knowledgeable and spot on. The timing. The amount of attention .. What a pro! Of all the delicious things.. ( The rabbit ravioli was BONKERS!) The sliders were amazing, but the Brussels and the carrots stole the show. Bravo!

OMG!!! Everything that touched the table was EXCELLENT!! First course was elk sliders with blueberry jam, fabulous! And a special jalapeno oysters. Then skipped the second course and got the roasted garlic stuffed beef tenderloin, outstanding! Ordered a jalapeno cucumber margarita and it was way too good. I cannot stop recommending this restaurant enough. You are going to pay but it is soooo worth it!!

I’m going to be honest, I feel robbed of an experience promised based on reading multiple 5 star reviews. I came to celebrate my carnivorous boyfriends birthday and just like the food, the staff were a bit lackluster. We ordered a couple items from each of the courses starting with the fettine. My boyfriend really enjoyed his steak and he mentioned it was probably the best steak he’s eaten. I had the rack of elk, it was good. I don’t know if I like things a bit saltier but I felt like most of the dishes could have used a dash of salt. Pictured: Fettine trio Elk sliders Butter lettuce salad Rack of elk Waygu strip

The food was divine, and overall Lonesome Dove was a pleasant surprise. We had a late reservation Saturday night during Memorial Day weekend, so surprisingly slow. The ambiance is warm and comfortable, with classic country music playing softly in the background and an authentic Texas interior decor, with dark colors and rustic touches. The service was good, staff was knowledgeable and attentive. Now to the food, we started with the blue corn lobster hushpuppies and butter lettuce salad with red chili buttermilk vinaigrette, both very good! For entrees we had the signature dish which is the roasted garlic stuffed beef tenderloin and rack of lamb, both were on point! My favorite was the LD Mac & Cheese with fried artichoke hearts, unbelievable, mind blown! The burnt carrot side with Texas honey, Meyer lemon and goat cheese was also really good. I heard the chef Tim Love had previously won Iron Chef, no surprise. Tasty spot, definitely recommend, check these guys out!

We had a feast for 8 here for my birthday. Can’t say enough about the food & service. Don’t miss the Elk loin. To die for! The staff went out of their way to take care of our group. The dishes were carefully prepared and delicious. The bartenders made an amazing flaming after dinner drink for me. Thank you all!

Lonesome Dove Austin was incredible! Shoutout to Jeremiah, our fantastic server! Let’s see, what did we get… for a cocktail, the Rumfashion was the drink of choice at our table. For apps, Rabbit-Rattlesnake Sausage and Deviled Gulf Coast Blue Crabs. The sausage was incredible!! Then we got the kale mix and beet salad followed by the phenomenal Roasted Garlic Stuffed Beef Tenderloin and Blackened Gulf Redfish. Everything was so good!! Thanks Lonesome Dove!

Renowned celebrity Chef. Game meat and wine from Texas in a contemporary western inspired decor. The food is great and original. The Texan wine is surprisingly complex and delectable. Service is professional and welcoming. Count $150 per person.

This place is hands down the best place in Texas to dine in at. Your money spent here is well worth every bite!! The atmosphere is jaw-dropping! There are so many awesome feature at this establishment. The food is to die for. Everything was delicious. The plate setting was gorgeous. Each plate had it own textures and flavors beautifully displayed. Drinks were amazing and exactly the same with each glass poured. Alexis was our waitress tonight. She was so kind, knew the menu as if she wrote it, checked on us every couple of minutes to reassure us that we were satisfied. I couldn't have asked for a better night out on the town! 100% I will be back when visiting!

My Girlfriend took me here for my birthday this year. It was an incredibly pleasant experience. The food was superb, the atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were some of the nicest people you’d ever meet. Another highlight was the drinks, they were top notch and they have an old fashioned that is smoked, very good stuff. To top it all off, the staff was kind enough to serve a complimentary slice of chocolate cake with a nice card. I would highly recommend, even if it’s just stopping by for a drink.

Super fun! Unique and flavorful. Starting with the Fettine Trio is a good way to go, but I especially liked the Black Buck and Pork Belly. Elk-Foie Gras Slider was great. Less impressed by the Deviled Blue Crab (not bad just not as amazing as most other things). The real fun comes with the smoked cocktails which were tasty and had amazing presentation.

Exceeded my expectations. Lovely interior design with full bar and lounge seating, booths and tables, as well as private dining room options. Serious wine and adult beverages available. We received excellent service from Claudio, who can answer your questions about the menu. My divers scallops plate was delivered hot and delicious in every way. My salad was full of savory tastes and textures. My wife enjoyed her chocolate cake dessert which is absolutely sumptuous. Prices are high in keeping with quality of cuisine, lovely dining experience and downtown Austin location. Parking is whatever you can find on the street, so valet may save time and headaches. For a truly fine dining experience, this venue will meet your desires. Recommended.

Went for Valentine's Day with a set menu. Overall price was $350+ with two meals and 3 drinks shared between the two of us. The appetizer course was my personal highlight and seemed a summary of their normal menu. It was flavorful and had a wide variety of unique tastes to start the meal off with a delicious flavor profile. From there on the meal was disappointing. My second course was an unremarkable salad with pine nuts and a light dressing. The amuse bouche was an extremely tough piece of elk with only one split between the two of us. From other tables it seems there were supposed to be two provide (especially under the exorbitant price) regardless it was utterly tasteless and we wouldn't have finished it anyways. My main dish of beef tenderloin was tender, but very salty, almost as if any salt from the previous dish was included in the main course as an apology. Dessert was a treat of chocolate and raspberry cakes that was a nice enough finish to our Valentine's meal and was very rich. Overall a nice atmosphere with a meal that was thrown together for a single day menu, good chefs made it passable but far too expensive to repeat another go at the Lonesome Dove 🕊️

We went with a large group and the service was fantastic. Great dining experience. Everything we tried was delicious. My main dish was the scallops and they were so so good. Accommodating and the atmosphere was five star. Will be back!

3.5 if possible. Food was fine but the prices are absolutely bonkers. I’m from the north east and regularly dine in New York City and Philly—this place is even pricey by those standards. For $300 for 2 people I expect one of the best meals of my life. You can get the food here at any upscale restaurant in any city in America. Nothing inventive or different—just an average steakhouse menu. Service was very good.

An amazing dining experience and probably one of the best steaks I have ever had. Open and airy inside with an attentive and friendly service. Choose from first, second and main course. Recommend the rattle snake sausage and the bowl of texas red (which is chilli without the beans). Took the signature steak with stuffed garlic and was cooked to perfection. On the pricier side dollar wise but well worth it.

Great if you like wild game! Braised quail was fantastic. Rabbit and rattlesnake sausage were good too. Tried the steak and it was average. Wine selection extensive! Highly recommend

This Resturant has a great atmosphere. The menu is very interesting . I chose the lamb which was a little over cooked but had a great taste. As a side the carrots are amazing. The server seemed a little overwhelmed but he was really nice.

The complaint here is largely the food. The service was great! The food came out really quickly, so quickly in fact, that I suspect most of it was already fired and just shoved on a plate. The grilled bread that came with the bone marrow was cold, the crab was lukewarm and tasted soapy, the hush puppies were gluey and warm ish. The bone marrow was delicious, and the rabbit- rattlesnake sausage was fantastic, however. Overall the food was under seasoned, and a massive disappointment for the price point and would have been disappointing if it were a free sample at Costco. Would not recommend.

This might be some of the best food I've eaten between the fried quail, bone marrow, and their garlic stuffed tenderloin. However, this was a 3 hour affair that we did not ask for. We received our entrees a hour and 15 minutes after ordering them. I also had to go find the server to get us a 2nd round of drinks. This could have been understandable if it was packed with people waiting but there were tables open and no wait at all. I'm not sure what happened.

This wild game restaurant was one of the best meals that I’ve ever experienced. I got elk, bison, rattlesnake and rabbit. All of it was phenomenal. It was also one of the most expensive dinners I’ve ever had but you have to try this place. I can’t wait to get back there.

Went here tonight for a spectacular family dinner. The interior is certainly distinctively decorated witha variety of antlers and taxidermied animal mountings on the wall along with lights, guitars, and an impressive selection of wines. The servers were very knowledgeable about the whole menu and very amenable to all questions. The selection of meat and seafood dishes were imressive and we even managed to make the sole vegetarian in the party happy. The restaurant had items like bison, boar, rattlesnake, and rabbit on the menu. All was well prepared and delectable, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The deserts were all scrumptious and hit the spot at the end of the meal. One of the best dining experiences I've had in years. Bravo!

Amazing food and great service in downtown Austin. This is one of my favorites. Bison Ribeye was fantastic. Cooked perfect, great cut and excellent seasoning. Rabbit rattlesnake sausage and grilled oyster appetizers were perfect as always. Wine list is very nice too, mostly new world but there are a handful of hidden old world gems on there.

Very happy with choosing to dine here about a week ago. Walked in and the atmosphere reminds me of walking into a Texas ranch home or at least what I would expect. Good decor and the space was nice. Sat down at the table and was informed the plates they had initially at the table were only for decoration (silver metal type of plate with a rustic look). Afterwards was greeted by the server and started to look at the menu. The chili rubbed pork lamb chops stuck out first but the second option that caught my eye was the elk loin. Decided to order the lamb chops. Something to note that their first course meals are customizable which is nice. Most of them are based on 3 servings for the price so if you want to mix and match they accommodate that very nicely. Must say that is a huge plus if you are curious about several items. I highly recommend the elk sliders as they are very flavorful and the jam they use is well paired. Didn’t care for the lobster hush puppies. The rabbit-rattlesnake sausage was good and would do that again along with the sliders. The lamb chop came out and looked like art to me. Very well plated and the taste was good. For dessert I ordered the ancho Chile chocolate cake and my oh my this was a treat. I have eaten out at a lot of restaurants and desserts are the typical same taste or close to one or the other. This however was fantastic. I was informed it won on Iron chef and I can see why. Definitely a true decadent and piece to enjoy. Would order this over and over again. After leaving I still had thoughts about the ancho Chile cake. Can’t wait to come back for more the next time I am in Austin.

Second visit to LD-Austin confirms that their hallmark focus on high quality and consistency. Entertaining two couples who had never been, the entire evening was perfect. George was attentive and uncompromisingly professional, even with my northern humor. We ordered most of the appetizers for all to share, a different entree for all to sample - all of the dishes were outstanding.
