What used to be a great place to watch football games for the past 3 years has turned into a nightmare. Service has gone downhill significantly but listening to management cuss out your friends is uncalled for. Something so simple turned into a female manager storming out, cussing, and refusing to acknowledge the unprofessionalism she was displaying to everyone. I along with numerous people watched this and will not be back. I know a few people not coming back won't impact them but think twice before going here. It is met with speaking to you with anger and frustration.

The food is bar food. The burgers are always under cooked. The beer selection is the best thing going for this place. It's a dingy bar atmosphere. Your table will most likely be dirty, the service is slow (especially if you sit outside), but it's a sports bar, what do you expect? After a few drinks, you won't really care because you're too caught up in the games. Do not expect fine dining or great service, but do expect dog friendly, loud crowds, and cold beer.

Went here for a Green Bay game and the crowd was pretty into the game. Our server Claire was excellent and she's pretty much the reason why I will give this place 5 stars. I tried three cocktails from here and I approve all of them. Especially the Mexican Martini got to try that.

Pretty nice spot to watch some games. The servers were nice and put on the game we requested as transplants. I appreciate how nice they were even though they were totally swamped. The chicken tenders, tots, and onion rings were quite good. I got the roasted garlic buffalo sauce for dipping and it was really tasty. They also have an excellent beer selection. Only downside is that a lot of the tables don't have an awesome view of the TVs.

Had one the yummiest burgers I ever had here at Black Sheep Lodge. You should definitely order cheese curds as the side for your food. With great beer on tap, lots of indoor & outdoor seats, and great staff, this is the place to have a good time with friends or alone.

Second time here, my goodness the food is still amazing! It’s a dive bar with great food, great alcohol selections, great prices, TVs everywhere to watch sports, outdoor covered seating with TVs outside, pool tables, darts, and great service. Came here with my friends. You have to try the Nashville Dry Rub on your chicken. It has a nice kick, and the honey brings in a nice sweetness. Onion Rings are really crispy. The wings are crispy and perfectly sauced. Fries were great too! They loved it here as well. This is a MUST visit.

It's a high-quality dive, if you aren't put off by the oxymoron. Good prices for a South Austin bar, and hearty portions. Excellent local, Texan, and craft beer selection, plus the cheapos. Integral part of the area.

We waited 30 minutes at a dirty table for someone to serve us. We continued to get 4 drinks over a 3 hour period because the server didn’t come see us or bring us a check. She had my credit card for over an hour and when I asked for it she just pulled it out of her pocket. Very sketchy. Food is always good but this place is constantly under staffed on the weekends. It’s only worth going Monday - Thursday. I will probably never go back and I live 100 feet away.

Great atmosphere with lots of TV's to watch every sport. Food was hit or miss. Appetizers were good, but burger was very well done when asked for medium. The service was some of the worst I've experienced. It's sit yourself, and took around 15 minutes without service before we flagged down a waiter. As designated driver, I ordered water from the start. This water took over an hour to arrive. My group had 3 rounds of drinks, we finished our food, and I asked for water over 5 times (including flagging down a different waiter), before it finally came. There were some small annoyances like no napkins or silverware during the meal. When it came time for the check, we asked for separate checks. The waiter had obviously not been paying attention to who had what, for example, my check had alcohol on it when I only had one glass of water. We then asked to split the check instead of trying to fix the separate checks. After 10 minutes of the waiter trying to split evenly, a member of my party decided to pay for everything, and we reimbursed them our individual share.

We both ordered burgers. The quality of the food has taken a nose dive. The burgers used to be cooked to medium temp. Now they just come out charred black, well done like they've been sitting under a heat lamp for several hours. There was also hair on my plate.

Each time I’ve visited I’ve enjoyed the Chicago Dog with tots accompanied by a pint of beer. Service at the bar is always excellent and the point of sale is tap e pay and very convenient. One of my favorite watering holes despite the somewhat tight parking.

Love it, great little neighborhood bar, friendly. Hip, local, goodness. The food is delicious. The wings are $9.50 for half a pound (3-4 wings) which is too expensive, this item should be cheaper. The burgers are awesome and at a better price point. They have a different drink special every day of the week, including the weekends, which is rare but good. The waitresses all wear skimpy outfits, it's pretty sexy. Not quite like a Hooters, but not that different.

Went here right before ACL and really enjoyed with mushroom Swiss burger! Sweet potato fries were also good. Best cheese curds I’ve ever tried!!! Cute dive bar feel with some cool peeps on the crew.

The drinks were really good. We enjoyed their frozen pain killer and the margaritas made with 512 tequila. Good stuff! I want to come back and try the food, the menu is impressive.

Came here for a cowboys game and the World Cup and had a great time. Food is pretty darn good, great hot dogs! Vibe is really really good for sports watching both inside and outside on the covered patio. LOTS OF TVS oh and the side room has POOL TABLES! Shuffle board and more TVs. Great spot

I went on a slow night, but I had a great time with friends! - The staff was super fun and friendly - Food was great (had the banh mi burger and sweet potato fries) - Bathroom was clean - Music was set at a reasonable level so you can still talk with the people next to you - Bar had games you can play - Nice beers on tap and the drink specials for Sunday were pretty good Been here before and I'll be back again, haha.

Cool chill place to get local beer and watch sports. Good crowd for the Brazil v Korea world cup game.

Original Austin vibes for sure. Chill yet upbeat at the same dang time. The food is awesome. The chicken tenders is my GoTo 🤔 The Salad is great too. Sports usually occupy the TVs. Plenty of seating. Outside covered patio as well. The employees have a great energy that tips it off I suppose. All love for this place hands down 💯

Found this on my travels through Austin and wasn't disappointed. Little hole in the wall bar that look smaller than it really is. Food was phenomenal and they had both indoor and outdoor areas to eat and hang out. Pick up some of their cool merchandise while you are there....lol Great little bar with a friendly staff. Cheese curds and the Black Sheep Burger were the choice of the day!!!

How is one bar so bad at being a sports bar, billiards bar, and punk bar at the same time? Worst food ever. Honestly. The apps are literally disgusting. If you like soccer this is the place for you but thats about it.

Really bad experience with staff and service. Sat in the back section where the pool tables are at and nobody came to take our orders the entire time we were there (40 mins). We got there around 5pm and it wasn’t even that busy. I went up to ask a server if that section had a server going around and she cut me off and said “im off the clock”. I went to another server sitting down and she looked at me like I was bothering her and said “I’m off the clock but I guess let me find somebody”. Since we were such an inconvenience to the staff we decided to walk across the street to Loro (which I recommend for its great service and food). It wasn’t the fact that a server never came to take our order because I know stuff happens but it was the attitude of the staff that got the 1 star. Where is the GM in these cases making sure operations are running smoothly and people have been taken care of.

If camaraderie and a great time are what you are looking for, then look no further than the Black Sheep Lodge. A staple of the South Austin area, you will not find a better neighborhood bar. They offer daily specials, affordable cuisine, more television screens than you could ask for, and a great location to wind down after a long shift if you're looking to avoid rush hour traffic. Don't forget to play some pool or throw darts while you're there.

I came here for the USMNT match. Great atmosphere as always just like its sister Haymaker. ..(yes) Hannah (and her sisters) in the patio were beyond awesome as was Clayboy the bartender and ALL the staff. MANAGERS, give her a raise or at least an extra paid day off. Customers, tip her and her gurls and bois well. Especially if you got a cushy WFH IT job. Go Pulisic and the bois!
