Super delicious food, I got to try the pork belly which was super well balanced with the acidity in the collard greens with the fattiness from the pork belly. The triple fried duck fat fries had an Sharon’s texture but I could have used a little salt on mine. My favorite were the banana beignet fosters for dessert! I would go back just for those. Service was good.

Absolutely lovely restaurant on the central east side. Indoor and outdoor areas, full bar, and fantastic happy hour. You can definitely get full and eat cheap with this happy hour. Food is crafted very well, drinks are cold and strong, and the staff is great. Some items with the egg can get messy, but overall, it is a really great place for a quick eat or night out with friends/ family. We can't wait to come back!!

We have not been to Salty Sow in over a year and decided to revisit the restaurant for a happy hour. The experience was a delight. Our server Jordan was outstanding and we were not left wanting for anything. The food was filling and full of flavor. The drinks were on point. My favorite were the deviled eggs, and the in-house smoked salmon pastrami was incredible. The management here is clearly top of the line, and hospitality abounds. We will definitely come back, as there are numerous other dishes we want to try.

This place came highly recommended by a client of mine who use to live in the area. This place didn't disappoint me. Food was amazing. Our waiter was awesome and explained different items on the menu that were out of our realm.

My husband and I wanted to try a new American restaurant and found this place. The dishes are pretty unique and the service was good. We made reservations 40 minutes before we arrived on a weekday. The Candied Pork Belly was so tender and seasoned to perfection and the Red Fish Special was really good. The Duck Fat fries were okay but loved the Brussel Sprouts appetizer (it’s just the leaves)! Good experience overall.

This was our 2nd time dining here. The first time was our first date a year ago. It was absolutely perfect. The food was amazing. The service was fantastic. We will definitely come back many more times. The rotating seasonal menu slaps! I have the duck bacon and fried egg. Ate every bit of it. We also had the warm apple fritters with a bourbon glaze. Demolished those as well. I recommend this establishment to all my friends and people from out of town when I'm bartending. And I always will!

We were recommended to this place by an old friend - she deemed it her absolute favorite restaurant in Austin. We would 100% corroborate that! We got to sit outside in a large seating area that was protected by screens all the way around (no bugs!!). We got a couple appetizers and desserts, pictured below. Let me just start by saying their deviled eggs are literally the best deviled eggs I’ve ever had in my life! The Brussels sprouts were so sweet and yummy (just the leaves and crisped so nicely). We had a charcuterie board of lots of fancy meats and cheeses, followed by delectable desserts. The beignets are truly *chef’s kiss*! Unfortunately I failed to get our server’s name but he was so kind and knowledgeable about the dishes. Whenever I’m back in Austin, I’m coming back to the Salty Sow!

Really enjoyed the service here. There were some fun cocktails and delicious apps as well. I did not enjoy the 3 filet dish. It was overcooked which is workable, but the salt was overkill. Unfortunately most of my group did not enjoy their dinners either. Would love to stop in here for bites and drinks if there was bar, but there is no bar here. Great staff

What an absolutely incredible meal. Every single dish was packed with flavor. The pork chops was one of the best dishes I have ever had. I cannot say enough good things. Our server, Tom, was also amazing! Added to my list of best meals in America!

If you’re on the fence about going to Salty Sow, here’s your sign to do it! We started out with the bone marrow; it was my first time trying it, and it was incredibly tasty! I had the wagyu cheeseburger with DUCK FAT fries, both of those on their own are a 10/10! I cannot tell you how perfectly everything was cooked and seasoned. I don’t know how it happened, but we were seated at a table that was in between some curtains and was more private than the other tables. I absolutely loved that! Overall everything exceeded my expectations. The fries though…I will be coming back for a lot more duck fat fries!

We did not get the hype. I gave Salty Sow a second try but the food was still underwhelming. The chicken was mostly breading, the fish taco contained a bone, and the Brussels sprouts were too sweet. The happy hour prices are good, our server and staff were very nice both times though!

If we could give 10 stars we would! The BEST happy hour in Austin and the BEST service in Austin!! Our amazing server Dylan was absolutely incredible. The manager, Mason also stopped by our table with great suggestions and a bit of history on this little gem! The atmosphere was so good warm and inviting! This is a staple in Austin and we will come here to every time we visit! We got the most tasty deviled eggs we’ve ever had, pork belly taco, catfish taco, crispy chicken with a biscuit, duck fries and the best 2 drinks. The drinks were the best y’all! Porch swing and bees knees are our favorite. We will definitely be back and highly highly recommend. Ask for Dylan he is an amazing person and server. He knew every detail of that menu!!!

Finally visited this upscale French-American restaurant. Went for Happy Hour and the dishes were scrumptious. The deviled eggs and fries were a divine start. The chicken and biscuit was tasty and had great crisp. The only item I wouldn’t recommend were the tacos, which while not bad, we’re nothing to scream about. Definitely going back!!

This is our second time here and can’t rave enough about them!! Brad was our server and he was incredible with humor, recommendations, service and seriously just awesomeness!!! Consistency of food and service each time was spot on! We’ve only experienced happy hour both times, but we will have to come back for actual dinner service! The fried chicken is epic, juicy, moist, crunchy, great serving size! The chicken liver mousse has a wonderful creaminess, salt touch, plus the bread was warm and soft. Their tacos are flavorful and also phenomenal size! The truffled devil eggs have a lovely balance of truffle flavor and egg. Drinks are next level as well! Absolutely LOVE everything about this place and will be back!!!

Overall the food was very good. Went with friends & we enjoyed the Red Trout & the banana dessert the most! 😋 Even though the restaurant was super busy our waiter Kyle did an awesome job & went above and beyond to make sure we felt like we were being served! Not very sure about the candied pork belly though… My friend got it before and said it was super good, perfectly sweet & savory. But today it was very, very salty. 😅 However, still 5 stars because of the excellent customer service!

I can't say enough positive things about this restaurant! From the welcoming atmosphere and great patio, the service team, to the great daily happy hour menu and cocktails! The must have list starts with their truffled deviled eggs and honey rosemary dipped chicken. For a lighter entree go for the brussel Caesar salad with candied almonds and cranberries. The slow cooker beef and mashed potatoes are like a hug on a plate. Deserts themselves can stand on their own.. we particularly loved the banana fosters beignets and the butterscotch budino

Not worth it updated: To be honest for this location to have more tables than parking spots truly bothered me. Going to this place as the appearance was upscale and modernized and with the quality that the dishes they had caught my attention and got me eager. But to start out with Triple duck fried fries I truly imagine something different than what I got besides seasoned fries with the scrambled egg, as it was good but I can go to any fast food chain for French fries if I wanted to, the Candied Pork Belly I really felt torn with because the pork belly was seasoned correctly and had this amazing flow and with the collard greens I was expecting better, now as the collard greens were cooked correctly they just missed a step because the aftertaste was far bitter than collard greens I've had homemade that had more attention to detail and taste, so eating this together truly threw it off completely as you had the amazing tasting pork belly then this disgusting bitter collard greens ruining my taste buds while making it difficult to eat them. If they focused on masking them correctly and that bitter taste wasn't strong this would have been my favorite. The Butterscotch Budino As the name sounds unique and interesting it truly didn't seem up to par based on how my server described it. It was just a fancy salted caramel pudding to which I lost interest in the rest of this dish. Which such high grade quality I feel like it's just aimed towards a certain clientele. I personally wouldn't recommend this to anyone

Great food and even better cocktails. We got the crispy Brussel sprouts, wagu burger with duck fat fries, and an almond crusted trout entre. Great overall experience. Only mistake was that we didn't have a reservation on a Friday and had to wait 40 minutes.

We made a reservation for the family since it came so highly rated and we only had one day in Austin. Absolutely did not disappoint! Fantastic cocktails, great apps, phenomenal service (shout-out to Zach!), and epic entrees. We didn't grab pics of everything but the deviled eggs used stone-ground mustard blended into the filling for a delightful heat. The candied pork belly was a crowd favorite.

Met some friends for a lovely dinner. My partner and I got there early to enjoy some happy hour cocktails before our friends arrived. The hostess was so accommodating. Our server was lovely too. He was the perfect amount of attentive. The food was very good. It wasn’t as filling as I anticipated. I had the beef shoulder and it was so tender. I was addicted to the gravy it was in. We got the biscuits to try, and they were crunchy and fresh. I enjoyed my dining experience!

Epitome of gastro pub food. Bone marrow was one of their best dishes. Recommend this place if you are looking to stay in the eastern part of Austin. Staff is great and one of the dining sections lets you view the kitchen. Everything we ordered was delicious.

What a fantastic restaurant this was! Stylish and fancy while feeling cozy! The main attention was on food and drinks, as how it should be! The duck fat fries were an unexpected highlight that really wow-ed me!! Their NYE specials were amazing, with smoked ribs and glazed pork belly.

The Salty Sow is a very cool place that I visited while in Austin during their Happy Hour. I loved that I was able to taste multiple items from their menu at a reduced price. My favorite was the Honey Rosemary Dipped Fried Chicken. The chicken was bursting with flavor, crisp on the outside and extremely tender on the inside. The Pork Belly Taco felt as if the rich ingredients were competing with one another. I did not like it. The Truffled Deviled Eggs with Bacon and Chives were creamy and flavorful. Absolutely delicious! I couldn’t get enough of the Duck Fat Fries and had to hold myself back from ordering a second round. They were cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was great. The whole staff was friendly and the Manager stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying our food and drinks. We sat on the patio and really enjoyed the fun, spirited environment. This is definitely a place to check out!

I've been a huge fan of this place for many years. The food is great, cocktails are pretty good too, service has always been great, the atmosphere is nice, they have a great semi-outdoor area. Probably the best happy hour in town, and their deviled eggs, brussel sprouts leaves and liver mousse are to die for! Everything there has been consistent and well managed even through the pandemic, I give them huge props!

Oh my gosh!! The food, drinks, service, and ambiance were all AMAZING! Brad was our waiter. He was fun, engaging and provided great service. His recommendations for entree's was spot on! The chicken liver mousse was one of the best things I have ever tried! Bananas Foster for dessert! Portion was so generous!

Oh wow, what a place! We were in town to see George Strait and Willie Nelson concert and was looking for something to eat that wasn't to far from the Moody Center. This place was amazing! Everything on we ate was great. I would say they haven't perfected their desserts, but appetizers and entrees they nailed it!
