We stayed for one night over memorial day weekend and absolutely loved it! The location is perfect.. right in the heart of downtown and able to walk to anywhere. Every single staff member was amazing. Everyone went above and beyond. The hotel has such an interesting history and there is so much artwork, it feels like a museum. The restaurant and bar all have great food and service. Valet was a little pricey at $55. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed here over Valentine's Day Weekend. The aesthetics are nice and the hotel does have a rich history. While it is on the pricey side for over $350 per night, we expected a higher level of service. Upon checking in we were told that we were eligible for an upgrade at $15 per night. The agent informed us that the room would be larger and the view would be better. We of course agreed. Upon Check-in we found that while the room was larger, the view was of the hotel's noisy HVAC units. There was also a screaming toddler in the room next to us, which ruined the experience. Screams could be heard throughout the day, and into the middle of the night. What was most concerning was the cleanliness of the room. On our second day we found that the sheets we had been sleeping on were stained with brown/red streaks of either blood or rust. Hopefully it was the latter. Upon checkout we voiced these concerns to the front desk. Their solution was to waive the $15 for the supposed room upgrade. As a frequent traveler, this is not the level of experience that we expected from a Hyatt Hotel.

I stayed here during Austin City Limits, and The Driskill was amazing! Great location โ€” youโ€™re close to all of the major attractions and nightlife! Also close to the free shuttle to and from ACL, which is great! Make sure you check out the cafe at the hotel, it is delicious. David the valet is super helpful and funny! Thanks for a great stay!

Literally the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The staff was exceptionally helpful and the hotel itself was incredibly gorgeous and clean. The guided tour was a fun perk, and the bakery was fantastic. Our room was tiny, but we were forewarned and the original stained glass in the bathroom was a real treat as was the floor to ceiling tiled shower. Spooky, old fashioned, and just plain nostalgic.

Excellent service. Kindness and positive vibes from the moment your enter the space and the door opens. Lobby service was undeniably top notch. Katie at the front desk went out of her way to be extra helpful. We were fortunate enough to have Joseph help with our bags upon both arrival and departure. Natalia in valet had a beautifully infectious smile and laugh that radiated good vibes all around. The restaurant was superb and Steven graced us with his charm as he helped us upon our departure. 10/10 will stay again. Made our quick weekend trip getaway the best it could possibly be.

Gorgeous hotel with soaring high ceilings, an art gallery feel in every corridor, and some parts of the building dating back to the 1880s. Amazing charm and architectural details! Peacefully quiet room even though the downtown city block is very walkable and bustling. And the service was top notch - two people personally reached out to me by text message before I got there to confirm my reservation had everything I needed. Bravo!

Interesting place! The food at the hotel was great - the burger was exceptional! It looked so simple yet the flavours brought back something I havenโ€™t experienced in a long time. Flavours that makes you feel home. Just because of this, I was super satisfied. Additionally, the server was super friendly and on top of it. A little background music going on in the lounge - great vibes for friends and dates.

Great location. Friendly, helpful Staff. Historic Hotel. Probably one of the best in Austin. Expect to pay top prices for drinks etc, unless you catch happy hour.

Holiday party for work was booked here so I asked them to book a room for me to avoid having to travel alone in downtown Austin at night. The issues began straight away upon my arrival. The young man who received me at the valet area was extremely rude and off-putting. I was attempting to explain that I needed assistance from persons at the hotel to offload all of the party items I had with me and he continually interrupted me. Further, he acted as if it was a inconvenience that I even asked that. I had just hosted a large holiday party at another hotel in another city the night before and they were more than gracious and helpful so I was surprised by this interaction. The party room was small and uncomfortable so after that experience, I simply wanted to rest in my room but that was impossible. The bed in my room was a metal bed (freestanding) that squeaked with the slightest movement (adjusting pillows, rolling over, etc.) and was not comfortable at all. The noise in the hallways from people chatting sounded like they were in my room (I could see into the passageway through the gap in my door). The room was in poor condition, shabby paint, damage to walls, baseboard. I realise the hotel is old so I expect a certain amount of wear over time but this room appeared to not have been properly turned or checked for some time. There was one hotel team members who were kind (he was called Eric and I enjoyed interacting with him) but most acted bothered when performing their duties. The young man with whom I checked out became very snippy with me when I asked him if he printed my receipt as I was planning to simply have it emailed instead. I believe he assumed I was attempting to rush him but, like the reception team member, he cut me off before I could ask my question. I would never return here, would never suggest this hotel to anyone. We spent a large sum of money for the party and rooms and this was the most disappointing experience at any hotel.

We had a lovely stay at The Driskill hotel. The service was amazing from valet (Stephen and Emilio were friendly and took care of our vehicle quickly) to their restaurants. We loved the 1886 bakery (highly recommend the Chicken and Waffles and the famous chocolate cake) and the hotel history tour. The room is obviously older so we did have minor issues such as the toilet running and inoperable (luckily not until the morning of checkout) as well as the shades not completely blocking out light in the morning. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and everyone who made us feel welcome.

From the moment we arrived we felt like royalty. The staff went above and beyond in all circumstances. The hotel itself is a sight to behold including the bar which was packed every night we were there, it also happens to be a quiet spot to catch up on work in the morning. Katie at the front desk was exceptional along with David in valet. We look forward to returning next year, thank you again!

This was our first stay here and it was amazing! The entrance is easy to access from the street. Easy to unload or get dropped off. The great customer service starts at the door. The front desk members are very welcoming. The rooms will make you feel like royalty. The interior is absolutely gorgeous. If you need anything while in the room, you can either text the front desk or call them and they respond almost immediately. Highly recommend!!!

Wow! This historical boutique like hotel is breathtaking. If you are looking for a place to plan a wedding, check out The Driskill. High ceilings, with plenty of seating on the main floor, and bar with huge leather couches to lounge on with cocktails. There is a cafe, 1886, which was closed at the time we visited. Will stop to try menu items the next time Iโ€™m in town.

Absolutely amazing and fantastic. My mom, sister, and I had a lovely stay at the Driskill. From the moment the valet took the car, we were welcomed with kindness (and air conditioning) and they opened the door for us to enter. The hotel had a vintage, Western feel with cow print as a theme of the furniture. The lobby was grand and clean, and the lounge had a beautiful statue of a cowboy and a longhorn head. The elevator was small, but cute, and we got to our room with ease. It was lovely, the beds were so comfortable and it was well decorated. The soap in the shower was amazing and the window had a good view. The barbecue plate was delightful, and the Fourth of July spritzer was good. Make sure you do NOT miss the pretzel or the Texas Shaped waffle!! The bellman carried my luggage for me, and the people at the desk were kind. It was a 11/10 experience and I definitely recommend to anyone in Austin!!

Don't forget to use สœoแด›แด‡สŸส™แดสŸสŸส.แด„แดm when booking any resort. This site will compare hundreds of booking websites and usually will have rooms much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of the best in the area. I've been staying here for years. If you stay for a few nights you won't be disappointed. The hotel is well located, within walking distance to many great restaurants and bars. Interior is old but well maintained, very classy. We loved the cafe in the lobby, locals come to this place for brunch on Sundays. Also the bar at the hotel is really good as well. Glad we took advantage of them during our stay. The staff were super friendly. David and Luke at the front entrance valet are genuinely friendly and went above and beyond helping us to get in and out of hotel with tons of luggage

Staying at the Driskill was fantastic. Valet service, front desk staff, and room service was excellent. Loved the fresh smell inside especially with the Christmas tree in the main lobby. King room with balcony came as advertised with no let downs. After a night out on 6th street we were able to bring our pizza in from the street & grab a couple Dr. Peppers for fancy cuisine in the Mezzanine. Only gripe is that check in is at 4pm and the historic tour is at 4pm. Changing either time so they do not overlap would have been icing on the cake. I hope I can attend the tour another time.

Beautiful hotel. Stayed in a room with a balcony overlooking 6th Street. Absolutely a wonderful experience! Staff was very friendly, and the lobby smelled amazing (like pine or something). We are local, so even if we're not staying here again, we will definitely come back for the delicious food at the 1886 Cafe.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful & thereโ€™s a lot of fun facts and history behind every door knob and picture frame. Great place to stay for an Austin experience. Since The Driskill is in the heart of downtown, there is so much to do. I took some suggestions from Jake at the front desk. He embodies all things hospitality. He really knows how to spark a stay. Many thanks to Jake for making this trip to Texas one to remember.

The hotel is very nice. The location is near all the night life walking distance. Plenty of restaurants and options. The deluxe room bed was nice, bed very comfortable and ample space. My only reason for knocking it to 4 stars is due to on my 2 night stay my room was never made up. Not sure if this is COVID protocol but it was odd. The other thing that threw me off is they placed a hold on my card for incidentals but the mini fridge was complete empty. Would had been nice to have water and what not. Besides those two things it was a very nice hotel and very dog friendly. Saw plenty of furry companions on premises.

I didn't stay at the hotel although it is on my bucket list to stay during the Christmas break with my daughter and do the ghost tour. However today we popped into the cafe for brunch and it was delicious as always. I had the Texas pecan waffle and she had the Lady Bird Omelet. The ONLY complaint I have is that I miss the table service that they used to have where you could enjoy a small pot of tea with your breakfast and just enjoy the beautiful atmosphere and indulge in being pampered. Now you stand in line, place your order and they fill your coffee or tea like Starbucks where you wait in line to pick it up, then scramble to fight/find a table and then they drop your food off at your table. You then have to hope you don't need anything else like extra condiments or you are out of luck. Plus you have to eat your food with a line of people standing behind your chair. Just ruined the ambiance in my opinion.

Upon arriving we were greeted by Paul Mercer, valet, who graciously helped us. The hotel is charming and all of the staff were very accommodating. Love the turn down service. Cafe and bar are great places to eat and drink. Stephen, valet, did an amazing job of bring our bags down upon Checkout. Highly recommended!!

The Driskill is an amazing place in history. The hotel has historical tours and the main foyer is magnificent. The rooms are nice and elegant. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is also a great place for your company to have their seminars. I will definitely stay here again.

Before finalizing any trip, I do a quick check on a few sites, including HoteIDuIIy.cแดm My last trip was surprisingly affordable after that bit of research. Loved our stay! Thanks Matt for hauling up our plethora of luggage and sharing about the hotel tour. Maddie was great on the hotel knowledge tour, the rooms were all amazing and full of history. Food and drinks were phenomenal and the secret mezzanine balcony nightcap spot that Stephen shared made us feel very exclusive. We also had such a great checkout and loading experience with Stephen and crew on our way out. He remembered our family and gave us such a personalized experience. We will absolutely be back thanks to the family friendly experience this team gave us!

I absolutely LOVE the restaurant of this hotel! Did you know you can come eat even if not staying? The place is amazing! The staff is super friendly and i enjoy coming once in a while just to have a cup of coffee and some brunching. Thanks!

Haven't stayed here but we've walked around, eaten at the cafe, and gone on a haunted walking tour that passed through here. Very interesting history and just love the architecture. Every time someone visits I like to take them here because I consider it a highlight in Austin.

I cannot say enough about the exceptional experience I had while checking in at the Driskill. Jake was absolutely fantastic. He went out of his way to assist with finding an item left in the cab upon arrival and ensured a wonderful welcome. Thank you Jake for the amazing hospitality.

Went to the hotel for one night and had an unforgettable experience that will definitely make me visit again. The atmosphere was magnificent and the staff were some of the most personal and approachable people I have met in Austin. Caos was one of the most respectful, driven, and charismatic individual I have ever met in the city. The lobby staff was absolutely terrific, the day time valet drivers were outstanding as well. 10/10 experience cannot wait to return again.

The hotel was very nice! The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and unique. My room (546) had another room next door. There was a foyer outside the two rooms with a security lock. My neighbors could have locked us in. Seemed a little weird, but my neighbors behaved. The guys at the concierge station, (Jay, Kaos, and Texan) were very helpful and friendly. Also the attendants at the front desk were helpful and efficient. The room was very large and luxurious, but the mirror on the wall where the beds were seemed to be ambiguously placed. Not a bad thing just kind of odd. Also the view was of the building next door. If I opened the window, I could have touched it.

Nice, clean, historical, well-preserved hotel. Friendly and professional staff. Good rooms, nice quality bed clothing. Good pillows!! You can not have a complete experience without meeting Kaos. He is the key piece at this hotel. What a professional, fun, and helpful guy. He made our 3am morning experience leaving the hotel unique. Made us leave the hotel wanting to come back!

We have stopped by before but we stayed overnight for my birthday! Had a great time in the room and enjoyed hanging out in the bar lounge area listening to some live music. The pretzel is always a hit.

Love the Driskill! Built in the late 1800s, the original charm and atmosphere remain. Had drinks and apps in the bar lounge with live music and full of people having a great time. Saw a couple get engaged in front of the beautiful Christas tree in the lobby! It's that kind of place!

Amazing piece of living history. The hotel is not really my style but I do have to say it is an amazing place. History screams out every place you look. Me and my wife will be returning soon. The staff was great. Very friendly. It is only a few blocks from the capital. And being right on 6th street is nice. If you are staying in downtown Austin, this is the only place to stay. Trust me.

This was an absolute fantastic stay! Between the location, the ambiance, history of the hotel and grand accommodations I will stay here every time I visit Austin. Raymundo was especially helpful, he went out of his way to make sure we had the best stay. Truly loved staying here and felt more than welcome! Driskill is a must!

Canโ€™t say enough good things about the Driskill. Our son got married there on July 22 of this year and it went off without a hitch. The front desk staff treated us like we owned the place. The rooms are beautiful and comfy (oh and haunted!) the food in The Cafe is amazing! Every detail was taken care of with such warm hospitality. We canโ€™t wait to return to celebrate the kids anniversaries in the years to come. Oh, if you want a spirit filled night, try 436 and 514 ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ‘ป

We really enjoyed our stay here. The lobby and bar are especially cool and the food in the bar and the cafe was excellent. Built in 1886 but entirely modern in amenities. Theyโ€™re not letting service or upkeep slip; the bathroom was spotless, the carpet clean, the beds soft, shower hot, and air conditioning cold. Room service hasnโ€™t resumed post Covid but you can order food at the bar and bring it back to your room yourself. We stayed in the two queen bed standard room and it was plenty big, though with four people it might start feeling kind of full. The internet was reasonably quick but you should get off your phone anyway. Easy to find, centrally located, I would 100% stay here again. Not inexpensive but definitely not overpriced, and if you want to roll like a cattle baron, this is where you stay.

Jake the Manager did everything he could to make my stay as good as possible. David with the valet was amazing. So kind and efficient. It was not the driskill we are familiar with as staffing shortages have changed the dreamy experience we used to have. Hopefully they will be back to room service and enough restaurant bar staff. Thankful for all the staff and them giving their best to do what they can. โ™ฅ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธ

We recently stayed here for our wedding weekend and enjoyed the service we received. We were accommodated for a check in 2 hours early so we could change in our hotel room before our courthouse ceremony, and we were greeted in our hotel room with chocolate covered strawberries and Topo Chico. The reception desk was friendly and the valets were great. Jay carried a carload of wedding stuff up to our room and was professional and helpful. The Driskill Bar was the perfect place for our after party and we had plenty of guests stay there too. The only downside was that they werenโ€™t able to give us a wedding room block, but luckily since it has a great location, there were plenty of other options for people. Recommend! We canโ€™t wait to stay in our room for future anniversaries :)
