I decided to try out Truluck’s for my 10 Year Anniversary and I can now tell you from experience you will not be disappointed! The service is definitely over-the-top but by no means overbearing. The food….literally every single bite was phenomenal in quality and taste from start to finish. Honestly, for what we paid I believe we got more than our moneys worth for a restaurant located in a downtown area - drinks especially! My only complaint is that I can’t do it all again tonight!

Well, what can I say… it started as a wonderful night at this place(a party of 6), the service was excellent and the cocktails were AMAZING!! But as it progressed we had some issues with the air conditioning being a little cold for one of our party, we asked Donald, our server. Another issue was the long wait to get our main dish. One of my guests complained to Donald but he response was not appropriate in any way to trying to solve the problem or make (her) the guest happy. My issue was the African lobster tail being a little over cooked. I honestly have had better lobster at other places. It wasn’t moist or soft like I was expecting. If it wasn’t for the way Donald handled the situation, and the A/C not being addressed, and the My lobster was a little over cooked … I would totally give them 5 stars.

Fine dining at its best. Celebrated an anniversary here and from doorway to dinner table we were greeted and congratulated at every interaction. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. Paired our wines and offered recommendation based on our cravings that day. All staff worked together to maintain decorum (things like maintaining place settings, napkin folds, and always clean tables). The food tasted immaculate and was exceptionally prepared and served. I look forward to going back for future meals and celebrations.

Words cannot even describe the experience that one gets at Truluck’s. I came here to celebrate an anniversary and they really made sure that everything was taking care of. As someone who experiences anxiety planning special events, I could not believe how perfect everything was. From being greeting and congratulated at every turn, to the stunning views, aura, and staff, Truluck’s came through in every way. Our booth was huge, and spacing was enough to feel like you had your privacy but had enough background noise from live music to other guests having conversation to provide some nice background noise. Our servers were knowledgeable and courteous. Food was absolutely incredible. I’ve travelled quite a bit and this was the best dining experience I ever had. If you are planning an anniversary or any special event, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! Will definitely be coming back.

The service is outstanding, our server kept checking in to make sure we were enjoying our meal. The food was amazing,I really enjoyed everything they serve us. Nice jazz as well.

Delicious salads & Manhattans. The service is stupendous! The singers & pianists are fantastic! A great place for conversing with friends, family, and dates. It's pricey & worth it. The salads & lobster bisque are excellent choices! The menus are lit nicely for ordering. The new location is luxurious & vast.

We ate here for an anniversary. The staff was so nice and attentive and already knew about our anniversary. The salad and crab shrimp cocktail were amazing. There was so much food that we took half of the appetizers home. The shrimp and trout were equally delicious. They brought us a complimentary baked alaska for our celebration. I’m not a fan of sweets, but I ate half of it even though I was full. I’m adding to this review since we ate here again last night. Unfortunately, I have to downgrade them to 4 stars. The prices for our food was way too much. My crab cake appetizer was delicious, but small and $24. I chose the petite plate of scallops with mushroom risotto. I only got two scallops. My husband ordered the trout again and was satisfied with it. A glass of wine was overpriced.

We had a dinner here for my boyfriend’s birthday. The food is so delicious and their service is absolutely amazing. The dessert they gave us as a birthday gift is astonishing. We love this restaurant and will definitely come back.

If I could give this place more stars I would. Great menu, excellent service, bourbon selection is top notch. Tuna was hands down the most amazing I've had. Food was excellent and atmosphere is what you'd expect although I wish they'd enforce their dress attire more. Nothing but the best when you dine here, worth every penny.

This restaurant is one of my favorite fancy restaurants in Austin. The service is impeccable. It is the best service I’ve ever experienced. The staff are so knowledgeable about every single thing on the menu. It’s such a wonderful experience and treat to dine here. The food is delicious. Everything is cooked to perfection. The desserts are unique and creative like fruity pebble cheesecake. The lighting is beautiful by highlighting the food on the table, yet soft on faces. Highly recommend for a romantic date, anniversary, or special occasion.

The Lobster Bisque was delicious with nice big chunks of Lobster. Nice wine selection. I had the Hawaiian Ahi Tuna for my entree and a Bake Alaska a la flambe to finish it off. All pictured. Service was also excellent as well. Highly recommended.

Unbeatable staff ~ super friendly, nice and professional. Food was amazing and chief accommodated a special order for our little guy. Room is nice and warm, but not too noisy. Lighted menu and check was a nice touch. Stone Crab was as good as any you’d get in Florida, | personally was impressed that they gave you a size selection regarding to Stone Crab. First Class Restaurant, First Class Staff ~ well worth it.

Probably some of the best seafood I had in Austin. Even their steak was good! Take someone special here for a birthday or something they will go out of their way to make you feel special. Service was 10/10.

Went this last weekend and sat at the bar. Ordered an espresso martini which was great. I met a friend who had ordered meatballs when he arrived (I was late) and they didn’t arrive until about 15-20 mins after I showed up, meaning it took atleast 30 mins to get meatballs. When we did get them I enjoyed the meatballs, they were in a steak sauce not traditional marinara, which my friend wasn’t a fan of- but again I liked them. For an entree I ordered the 12 oz barrel cut filet, ordered medium. I will say it was more on the side of medium well, but that’s fine with me. The steak did have a good bark/nice crusted shell which I liked, but the steak was so dry. I was very disappointed with that item, so much so I’ll probably never return or recommend to anyone. I made a comment to the valet about it (making small talk) and he said “yeah well I guess that’s what happens when you order steak at a place known for seafood”.

All of the food we had was great. Had the Texas Redfish with mashed potatoes, everything was done well and flavorful. They even gave us dessert for our anniversary which was nice. The calamari was probably the best I’ve had.

Had our 9th anniversary (disregard the 8 😄)dinner here on our trip to AUstin! Lovely atmosphere. The food was amazing . The service is outstanding.

Best restaurant I've been to in a long time......and we eat out a lot. Went for my birthday celebration. Everything was so good & the treatment/atmosphere/ esthetic was simply top notch. The sanoma salad was impeccable w/ goat cheese & honey vinaigrette. The 'Trout Amandine' was to die for. And the 'Voila' drink was all the rage! The 'baked alaska' was amazing, and the 'carrot cake' saved my life. Favorite restaurant, period! Okay, I'm done.....

My wife planned us a date night to Truluck's, and she picked an absolute winner!! I'll start with the ambiance. Streetside upscale restaurant with a very inviting host/hostess group. Well laid out to allow for conversation over the table without having to talk over neighboring guests. Simple yet elegant decor, which made it very relaxing, vice gaudy, and uppity. Service was attentive and informative. Enough staff to keep up with the guests and not appear deficient or overwhelming. Our server was a little hard to read on the personality side but quite accomodating. On to the food!! WOW! Ample menu with selections for every palette. We of course went for seafood selections and were not disappointed. The Rock Crab Claw appetizer was delicious and the presentation was perfect. My wife had the Blue Crab Stuffed Lobster Tail and I barely heard a peep from her while she ate. She complimented the preparation specifically around how they had lined the shell with spinach to keep the Crab and Lobster from sticking to the inside. The accompanying side for her meal got her blessing as well with her repeatedly trying to get me to taste the mashed potatoes. I elected to go with the New England Scallops. They were served on a bed of mushroom truffle risotto and I got a side of truffle fries, cause you can never have enough truffle in your life! They were hands down the best Scallops I have ever had!! Perfectly prepared and just melted in my mouth! If you're a Scallops person, you know they can be a little on the gummy side at most places, but these were just right. The risotto was delicious as well, and OMG the amount of fries they brought out for the side was insane! Could have easily been shared amongst a table of 4. If you're looking for a nice seafood date night, Truluck's is a top of the list recommendation from me......for what it is worth!

What a lovely place for some excellent seafood. It had been a while since I visited Trulucks and I hadn't tried this spot so I decided to check it out. No complaints! Everything was nicely done, from the service to the drinks. The apps were all spot on, the lobster bisque was deep/spicy and the ribeye was amazing. Everything on the menu is worth a try and will not disappoint. There wasn't room for dessert on this visit but perhaps next time. Highly recommended for a date night or just a special meal.

Came here with my wife for our anniversary. Service was excellent. All our food was delicious. The meatballs were amazing in flavor and melt in your mouth. The crab cake was the best crab cake I have ever had: almost no breadcrumbs and pure crab meat. My branzino and my wife's redfish were excellent. Even the salads were big and delicious. For desert we had the ice cream cake, it was amazing. 5/5

My wife and I travel around the country fine dining, and not only is this place great, but Robin (our waitress) was phenomenal! She was extremely polite, attentive to our requests, the timing was perfect, and she was very educated on the menu and the wine list. Highly recommended! BTW, carrot cake is highly recommended!

This place is so wonderful. We came here as a party of 3 adults 1 small child and 1 infant. We did not realize we needed reservations, the valet called in upon our arrival and got us a table in the lounge..we were totally okay with this. We were quickly greeted by Jasmine who was a complete angel throughout the whole experience. She was knowledgeable and attentive the entire time. We had drinks that stayed full and tasted great, our appetizer came out perfect and our entree was not rushed. Dessert was a chocolate cake KING sized and so tasty. Added a couple scoops of ice cream. We will most definitely be back in the future. Thank you Jasmine and the entire staff for making everything amazing tonight.

Truluck's has a very nice atmosphere. While the menu could have more options, everything I tried was very good. Service was excellent and the bar was good. I also liked that they were open late and found us a table even when we didn't have a reservation.
