Had a reservation for 9:30PM. By the time we got our food, it wasn't busy. For a party of 4, we ordered 18 dishes handpicked by a friend who happens to be an Uchi employee. The selection mainly consisted of their favorite dishes. Although the portions are small and come with a higher price tag, it is undoubtedly a destination worth splurging on for a special occasion or to indulge in culinary artistry that few can replicate.

Incredible! We are vegan and they were not only accommodating, but every dish was amazing and served to perfection! Beautiful, flavorful, and complex in every bite. We celebrated our 9 year anniversary tonight and they surprised us with multiple items based on what we liked. Our waitress Kat was lovely and the bartender (I didn’t get their name 😩) was wonderful too. They both recommended sakes that we thoroughly enjoyed. Can’t wait to come back for the next occasion or just because 😏😉

Wow! Amazing experience! Came here for a friend’s birthday. The waitress was exceptional. Attentive, friendly, and really knows how to do her job to make us comfortable. The food is extremely good! Top quality and interesting flavours. Some dishes are a discovery for your palate. This is more a fusion of Japanese food with a touch of Texas vibes. If you’re looking for something of this type, totally recommended! Book a few weeks ahead!

I've yet to have a bad meal/experience at any of the Uchi locations. Service was great. Food is always fantastic. We came during happy hour so we expected it to be busy. Food still came out at a steady pace. Desserts were phenomenal per usual. I always try to dine at Uchi whenever I'm visiting Texas.

My friend is a top-notch food critic, and I asked her to recommend the best Austin restaurant for my trip there. She recommended Uchi, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. We spent hours at Uchi tasting various dishes recommended by our waiter based on our preferences that we shared with her prior to dinner. This is called omakase, which I highly recommend. I couldn’t even tell you everything we ate, but I can tell you that the crab and oysters were some of the best ever, and that the grand finale was some steak sushi with a bit of wasabi on the top. Delicious. Incredible. Truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had.

Very impressed with this outstanding sushi stop. Cool and small outdoor scene - weirdly basic table seating indoors but amazing sushi bar setup. And then there is the food!! As good as I’ve tasted in London, Tokyo or NYC. Creative, fresh and flawless. Well trained team make suggestions or allow you to make all the choices. Will return. PS. Thanks, Zak, for choosing - and creating - my selection

The food is just amazing and the staff very attentive and friendly. The waiter accidentally spilled some Sirup on my friends pants but immediately got her a $25 gift card and was super sorry. I am allergic to cilantro so I told the first waiter who took our order. No matter which waiter brought the food out, they confirmed that in my dish was no cilantro. I liked that very much! For my taste just a bit overpriced…

Happy hour! Yes, if you are able to make it anytime from 4:30 to 6:30, I highly recommend. Portions are a bit smaller, still super delicious, fresh, carefully put together. The fish here is always super fresh, dishes are very playful and the service is truly fine dinning. Be ready to valet since there is no parking and as always in Austin, reservations are needed most of the time.

Phenomenal. To be candid, this meal ruined me. I will not be able to enjoy sushi again for some time. The journey my palate was taken on was a ride like no other. Only the Uchi in Houston can compare in my mind. The staff were accommodating and added special items for a birthday in our party. I can’t wait till I can return. My one complaint is that we requested no red meat be included and that it be replaced with a fish alternative and they still brought out a wagyu beef dish at the end of the chef’s tasting.

We asked them to feed us, and this was probably the best meal we've ever had. Seriously. The service is exceptional, our server was knowledgeable about their menu, and after answering some simple questions about our taste/preferences she curated a tasting menu we won't forget anytime soon. If you are in Austin and enjoy this cuisine, go. Make a reservation and GO!

Much more casual experience with fine dining than I’d ever imagined, and how refreshing! Insanely flavorful and exciting menu, with excellent service. Omar made my birthday super special. Will for sure be back for more!

Our wonderful waitperson, Alexis, did an amazing job curating a fantastic somakase meal for my partner and I. Each dish felt very thoughtful and was gluten-free to boot (but did not taste "gluten-free" if you know what I mean!)! Our menu consisted of foods paired with some tasty drinks--that I now realize I didn't take pictures of. I was lost in sharing the fun and unique combinations of textures, flavors, and temperatures of each of the dishes with my partner. The two of us most definitely thoroughly enjoyed our meal and felt very well taken care of by Alexis. Thank you so much for an unforgettable anniversary dinner!

An unforgettable culinary journey at the finest sushi spot I've encountered in the USA. Here's a rundown of the 8 exceptional dishes we relished: 1. hirame usuzukuri 2. kurodai 3. hamachili 4. namahotate 5. Atlantic salmon 6. saketoro 7. Shima Aji (Our FAV!!) 8. wagyu carpaccio As a birthday treat, they graciously gifted me a tantalizing sushi plate. Complementing these exquisite dishes, we savored 4 glasses of prosecco. Surprisingly, the bill only tallied up to $220—a remarkable value for the sheer quality and quantity of the exceptional cuisine we indulged in. This place has undoubtedly set a new standard for sushi excellence in my book!

I’ve become an Uchi-convert. Yes it is expensive but the food is exquisite. Every bite is delightful, and the service is top notch. The only complaint is that it can get very noisy. We went with the omakase for a few visits to the restaurant but now know enough about the menu to order on our own. The cool tastings are some of the best sashimi we’ve had. And believe it or not, the desserts are out of this world.

Had a wonderful experience at Uchi tonight, they were able to accommodate a last min time change to our reservation which was much appreciated. The service was impeccable, John & Karen were both very knowledgeable in the menu and able to provide some delicious suggestions. We went with the Omakase, I would highly suggest this, you will not be disappointed. Everything was fresh and tasted out of this world. Highly recommend for a nice night out with friends or for a date night. 10+/10

Always a fantastic experience. I moved from Seattle and whenever I suggest sushi in Austin my friends from out of town scoff. However I put Uchi up there with some of my favorite Japanese restaurants. Always tons of unique options and seems to make updates to the menu fairly regularly.

We love going to Uchi when we are in Austin. It’s always fresh and delicious. The service is always on point and the food is delicious. The yellow tail crudo was my favorite sooo good. They also have a really good hot sauce. The red ambience makes the restaurant very sexy and great for a date night.

I love Uchi — every time! I tried 3 locations of them, all amazing! They care about quality and the consistency. I took my friend who’s very picky about raw fish. She loved it! We can’t wait to be back again and again!

Our first time at Uchi was incredible. Made a reservation and got seated ahead of schedule. We love sitting at the sushi bar and our chef Sebastian was so sweet and kind. Jenny was our server and gave us great recommendations. We tried a few things off the HH menu as well as regular menu. The sea bass and Tasmanian trout nigiri were two of our faves! The atmosphere was very lively. At one point, one of the guys in the kitchen brought all of the sushi chefs gatorades— so sweet to watch the teamwork. Everyone seemed happy to be there and it looked like a fun place to work. We really enjoyed it and can’t wait to come back to Austin and eat at Uchi again.
