Food was not great. If you’ve never had real Jamaican food before you’ll probably think this is good. The customer service was trash which is usually an indication of the Jamaican food being good but in this case that was not true. Fave thing was the plantains. We got oxtail/ jerk chicken meal and they didn’t give gravy on the oxtail :( oxtail was dry. Like I said if you know REAL Jamaican food you’ll be disappointed in this spot but there are slim pickings in Austin so I guess thats how they get away with it

Love this little gem! If you're looking for authentic Jamaican, this is the place to go. Absolutely loved the food. The service was quick and the owners were very kind. I think the atmosphere needs work, maybe some music and more fans for the outdoor seating. Unfortunately, the chairs and tables are either broken or wobbly. Other than that, I highly recommend it. Even if you just go pick up a plate. We had the jerk chicken and oxtail plates with plantains, rice and beans, steamed cabbage. Lastly, the Jamaican sodas are to die for...get you some!

Nice little food truck with great flavors. I got the half oxtail, half jerk chicken plate. The food was hot and fresh. The rice and peas were nice, along with the cabbage. I would've liked a bit more gravy/meat juice from the oxtail, but overall satisfied. The plantains are always a nice add on too. Prices were reasonable and I do plan on returning! 4.2/5

First off- I love the food here. The jerk chicken FALLS OFF THE BONE 👏🏻 it’s very seasoned. I love the rice & cabbage as well. I always get extra plantains (sometimes they’re a little too hard) but overall always yummy 😋 Cons- this may sound funny but several times I have gone the server at the window has been singing and praying extremely loud with the window open & a loud speaker. It was cute for a second but me and my boyfriend were hoping to enjoy the sunset eating our food outside & the server seemed to be playing a full worship music set, belting, and praying out loud. Not only was it distracting but also kinda weird to hear someone praying like that at a business. No hate to them for their religion at all but time & place, please. It’s happened several times now so I don’t think I’ll sit & eat here anymore which is disappointing.

sorry but spending over $25 bucks for a "large portion and getting a TINY amount of actual meet and mostly rice is just not worth it.

This place is absolutely phenomenal. I came here not knowing they were already closed and they still offered me what they had left after a long day. Only vegetarian food left and let me just say everything was incredible. I can’t wait to come back and try the full menu. Thank you so much for an amazing late night meal!

Incredible authentic Caribbean/Jamaican cuisine right in the heart of Austin. Great portion sizes. Made me feel like I was back home. Will be visiting again and again and again

We got the combo of curry goat and jerk chicken for $21. The combo could feed 2 (not very hungry) people with great satisfaction. Everything on our plate tasted amazing and balanced well with each other. I particularly loved the goat meat because it’s so tender, falling off the bones and melting in my mouth. Will come back to try more things!

I've been to the restaurant and the food truck and I have to say the service, food, quality and even portions are consistent across the board. I actually got to meet Tony himself who hooked me up AFTER the sold out sign was posted which is so rare to find these days... common decency and customer service! I appreciate everyone apart of Tony's but especially Tony for making this all happen! You really cannot go wrong with any dish but my favorites are the curry goat and stew chicken!

Have you tried authentic Jamaican food before? Check this out! I got the oxtail and jerk chicken combo plate. What is jerk chicken? Jerk refers to a style of cooking where the meat is rubbed in spices such as allspice (think pimento) and Scotch bonnet peppers (think habanero) and cooked over a wood fire. The result is a rich, smokey flavor with a kick. Addtionally, this was my first time having oxtail. Oxtail is similar to a beef short rib, but it’s more tender and has a more “silky” gelatinous texture. What’s interesting about the history of oxtail is that it used to be primarily a working-class cut of meat, but recently has became popularized and has now been promoted as “gourmet” thus increasing the price along with it (as well as supply and demand since cattle only have one tail, obv). This combo comes with rice & beans as well as sweet fried plantain. Fried plantain is a favorite of mine and when fried and eaten with the smokey meats, provides for a great light contrast. All in all, I enjoyed this dish a lot. Very interesting and unique way of cooking!

Very good food. Large plates could feed two people. Chicken curry was great and had good flavor.

Y'all, go here. The food is clearly made with love and care. Having a fantastic meal from Tony's right now. So delicious and comforting. The plantains are beautifully caramelized. The chicken brown stew is tender, and the flavor is top notch. You have to take a big spoonful of the rice at once because it is so satisfying and well seasoned. Hello to my friend, Ricardo! Sorry I didn't stick around to tell you this in person. I'll be back!

I went here for my birthday last year and I did not like the food. I had jerk chicken and rice and peas with plantain and veggie Pattie’s with coco bread. Because he’s serving an American community he gets away with not cooking the food how it’s meant too. Pattie was good and cici bread was stale.

Stop by today and got the ox tail double meat $20.99. I’ll start with the meat portion very small for double meat . Taste was very good but texture the meat could’ve been cooked longer . The meat wasn’t tender at all . Veggies was good wish I would’ve got more veggies than all that rice and peas . Chicken patty was amazing nothing to complain with those . I’ll certainly give this place another try all for the chicken patty .

Amazing food! I really wish they had a way to order online or via phone and a better way to check if it’s open bc the hours are not always accurate. Also, the portions are never the same. Sometimes when I order a large I get the small To-go container and vice versa. Occasionally I think I’m being overcharged when it’s not the owner there but the food never disappoints, always worth it. Tony is awesome, not the biggest fan of his employees though.
