The food was wonderfully display and flavored. I love that they use the seasonal ingredients and change their menu every month. The furniture and plates are different from table to table and I really enjoy that. We were joking about how many trips to Goodwill they had to make to complete setting up this restaurant. The service was great, they change the new plates for us from entree to main courses so the flavor won't be mixed. We order the whole menu so we were pretty full at the end and didn't order dessert. However, it was a birthday party and they bring out a complimentary dessert to celebrate the birthday which is awesome. I'd definitely come back for any occasion I can come up with.

One of the best meals i have had in a long time. our server, Joe, was like the nicest person to ever work for a course restaurant. i have to admit, we thought we were going to the Lucky Duck, and were pleasantly surprised. absolutely my go here if you can — it’s phenomenal. easily the best meal we had while in Austin. well done, folks!! you nailed it.

This place was amazing! The atmosphere was great, open kitchen, and outdoor seating with heaters. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable on every dish. After ordering, the pacing of the dishes coming out of the kitchen was perfect. I also assume they have a certain ordering of what dishes should come out first. Everything tasted superb. There wasn't a single dish that felt off in anyway. Odd Duck absolutely knows what they're doing

Came to Odd Duck for my birthday and it was a very delicious dinner and a beautiful location to celebrate. It was pretty crowded but with a reservation we were seated quickly. Some tables had a view of downtown but not ours. The menu came with a personalized stamp and we were given suggestions. We ended up getting cornbread, pepper fritters, quail, and burger along with some drinks and desserts. Ended up getting a delicious (and free!) dessert for my birthday. Cute spot! Great for a special occasion.

We really wanted to like this restaurant and have been talking about dining here for about four years now. It came highly recommended so finally we gave it a try. Unfortunately it was not as great as we were hoping. Maybe the kitchen had an off day (?). We started with the red fish ceviche. For me it was bland and did not have depth of flavor. Plus the potato chips were too flimsy to carry the weight of the fish. Next we tried the grilled potatoes. Some of them were good and soft but, unfortunately, some were rather hard and not cooked enough. The pasta course was a complete disappointment, as it was undercooked (harder than aldente) and the sauce had an unbalanced, overly lemony flavor profile. The restaurant was generous enough to take it off. The blackened fish entrée was also ok. Not great. Honestly nothing we had tonight was worthy of us coming back for more. My martini and our server Matt were both good, however.

Four of us came for dinner and this place lives up to the reputation. We had a smorgasbord of delectable farm to table items that were executed flawlessly. The Wagyu sirloin entree was insanely good. I also appreciate the establishments ability to modify menu items to accommodate the vegan in our group. Add the spot on service and you've got an absolute smash of a place. Reservation's recommended

Incredible experience. We booked reservations for the chef’s table and highly recommend. It was great to see the kitchen staff prepare food and especially the bar staff make drinks. One thing I noticed is that no one touched the drink garnishments or straws with their hands. Tongs were used in every step and I loved it! The food was also delicious.

A remarkable, first class experience from top to bottom. Their seasonal rotating menu means you’ll rarely have the same experience here twice. The experience of selecting dishes up front and then being served a 4-5 course meal (for two) was incredible. The service was, bar none, the best I’ve experienced in the city of Austin from the moment we walked into the door. Never experienced so much intentionality and focus in a restaurant before, and I cannot wait to come back soon.

I have to say this restaurant serves great food consistently! All the flavors blended well. Their cornbread comes in a small skillet warm and buttery. The sweet potato salad with pork belly was delightful as was the red fish and mushroom pasta. Grilled chicken hearts were good for what they are but not high on my list of food I like. 3 of us shared everything we ordered. Wanted to try the pork shoulder as well but never made it that far. Portions are ample. Definitely worth trying when in town.

Had the most unreal experience here with my boyfriend! I wish I could give more than 5 stars. What an amazing night! Everyone from the chef to the valet was so enthusiastic about the restaurant and had such a joyful positive attitude. The food was delicious and unique. We sat at the Chef’s counter (highly recommend) and were able to watch right into the kitchen and observe the chefs. We were offered samples throughout the night as the chefs cooked for us which made the experience even more personal and exciting. This dinner was worth every penny.

So fun! Loved the farm to table menu and the vibe. Could use a few more vegan options but I enjoyed the beets! It’s was quirky and fun and the staff was great. Service was a touch slow but it wasn’t a big problem. It was clean and parking was easy. Good for a date night.

First and foremost, if you go, make a reservation. Also, they have valet. I have been here several times and it never disappoints! The food is locally sourced and the menu is determined by what items they receive. I also love that the menu is seasonal and never boring. If you're gluten-free, they have a menu to accommodate most of their items on the main menu. Staff is always friendly and helpful. If you're not sure what to order, ask them; they have great recommendations and many are excited about what they serve. Everything is served on its own plate and can be shared or individual. Portions are a good size and it's safe to say that 2 plates per person is an accurate portion for a meal; 3 if one of them is a lighter dish or dessert. They also have a variety of unique drinks/cocktails and a decent selection of wines, beer, and even cider. This place has been around for years and they are truly worth the visit.

Sat at the chef's counter for dinner tonight. The open kitchen was really cool to experience! We ordered the redfish ceviche, cornbread, and sirloin cap to share between 2 people. It was the perfect amount of food! I ordered a funky beer (farmhouse ale) to complement. The service was good, and the food was great! Cornbread is a must order.

Was amazed! Had a blast! The food was amazing!!! I wanted a unique delicious experience while in Austin and they absolutely delivered. We started with the red fish ceviche, grilled quail and pork loin for our entrees, black Sesame Ice cream sundae for our dessert! Everything was delicious! If I had one thing to complain about it would be that I couldn't try more 🤣 it's also quite fun to look for everything with a googly eye 😁😜

If you are hungry and looking for a good spot with delicious food and good cocktails, definitely stop here! The service here is nothing but good, and the food is very flavorful and very delicious. Since you're here, you might as well have cocktails, which are really good. Thre food servings will definitely accommodate two people. The staff here are friendly, and did I mention the food is delicious! So, if you find yourself in the Austin area and are craving a good atmosphere, good service, good people, good cocktails, and really delicious flavorful food, definitely stop here! It's probably best to call ahead and make reservations. You will not be disappointed!

It’s safe to say that I had quite the luck of picking Odd Duck for a recent anniversary dinner. Austin has so many great places to eat, and I am convinced that this is one of them. The wait staff were friendly and helpful, but most importantly, understanding and considerate. The food was EXACTLY what I expected it to be, which was amazing. The prices are fair for what you get and the restaurant environment. As a nice touch, the staff also surprised my partner and I with free champagne flutes and dessert to celebrate our anniversary, which capped off a great day for us. The complimentary valet was a nice surprise as well that I wasn’t expecting, and the valet attendant was courteous and professional. I will definitely be returning to Odd Duck at some point hopefully soon and encourage you to as well. The food I ate for reference was the cornbread, chicken hearts, wagyu strips, and beer battered squash. ALL of it was a hit, but my favorite was definitely the cornbread. A piece of my steak was a little tougher than my liking on the outside but the rest of the experience makes up for it. It was also nice to have the table I reserved ready and available when I arrived slightly early.

Great spot. We had a large group so they created a training menu for us. It was amazing! He service was remarkable and was a huge factor in making the meal so enjoyable. The bar was also on point. We had quite a few of the cocktails available and they were all great. Very memorable restaurant. 10/10, I would recommend.

10/10! The food was so delicious! I was surprised about how good the ingredients are together. The pasta was so good we had to order another one. Try it all honestly! Also JP our waiter had great energy & was a 10/10 waiter. Make it here if you’re in town!

We had a fixed group dinner since our party had more than 7 people. Everything tasted good. The two standouts were the cornbread with kimchi butter and the chocolate & masa icebox cake. The dessert was unlike anything I’ve tasted, and I loved it. I wouldn’t say this was a very memorable meal overall, but I did enjoy it.

The best plate of blackened red snapper you will ever eat in your life. If ever in Austin, this should be your first choice. Of course, you better make reservations a few days ahead at least. Which also comes with complimentary valet service.

This one has been in our list to try for a while and we finally made it in. Right off the bat the food was amazing and the service even better, from the hostesses to our bartender/ server. There are a couple of things that absolutely stand out though. First, the cornbread on a skillet. No exaggeration but it's the best I've had in... maybe ever. The butter they put on top, just the right amount of sweetness with a most dough. Seriously, get it. Then there's how they serve the meal. They recommend sharing vs ordering singly. Great 'cause that's how we usually eat. Each dish was brought out separately, with just the perfect amount of time between each one. I swear that they must be discreetly monitoring their tables because the pace was so perfect; you finish a dish, hand a little conversation and then the next one comes out for you to enjoy. It's really a great experience because the table never feels cluttered or anything rushed. The menu is seasonal and changes regularly, so that's plenty of incentive for us to go back. So long as they keep the cornbread....

I went with a group and the food and drinks was amazing. Cannot go wrong with anything here. We shared plates of different dishes. I would highly recommend the ceviche, cornbread, broccoli, pork shoulder and sourdough ice cream. The service was top notch too!

Having a bit of a goodbye food tour as I move out of Austin soon, and I couldn't pass up a final time at Odd Duck! The food is really exceptional, the drinks are boozy, and I find that the staff is really attentive and knowledgeable. Great vibes all around. The staples are always on the menu, like the corn bread and quail, but the flavors are seasonal and vary depending on their local sourcing. You generally need to book in advance, but could maybe snag a seat or two at the counter during the weekdays.

Beautiful place with beautiful plates served by beautiful people. Every interesting menu. Seasonal farm to table with open kitchen. Pork skin salad 5/5 Ceviche 4/5 Scallops 3/5 - taste good but not really special Corn bread 4/5 smell so good Quail 3/5 - we did not like the stuffing Sundae 3/5 - black Sesame icecream had no flavor to it, but the brownie, and raspberry saved the dish The burger looks gigantic!

Best corn bread ever, do yourself a favour and order it. I would have loved to come back just for thr cornbread but we ran out of time for a second visit. The ceviche was delicious with an unexpected strawberries sauce. The scallops were also delicious and fresh with the vegetables paired. The roasted seasonal vegetables were okay, I had some pieces that were slightly firmer than I would have likes but great flavour overall.

Great experience, we had the multiple dishes and drinks all were phenomenal. I would highly recommend. Our server Missy was awesome, great recommendations, remembered all of my wife’s strange requests, and was there any time a refill was needed. Valet parking was easy and accepted Venmo (because who has cash). Reservations were easy through Resy (I recommend making one). We will definitely be back.

Wow wow wow wow wow. I went to Odd Duck with high expectations after hearing time and time again that it was the best restaurant in Austin and it did not disappoint! First, I have to talk about the staff. The amazing server we had (Joe) was so passionate about his work and what he was serving. He told us that he works at Odd Duck because he ate there and was like yeah, I want to serve this. We would ask him for recommendations and he wouldn’t be able to give us a front runner because everything was delicious. He wasn’t wrong. Every person we interacted with was so fun and you could tell they enjoyed working there. We heard from many staff that they’re like a family there and that is evident. Okay, the food. YUM! Just YUM. You should over order. We ordered so much and completely stuffed ourselves because we just didn’t want to stop tasting everything. The dessert we had was mind blowing and I have to give a special shout-out to the wonderful bartender who listened to my husbands request for a super spicy drink. She nailed it and was so fun about it all. Believe the hype and make your way to Odd Duck. You’ll love every second!

First time visiting and we'll definitely be back. Sat outside at the front patio which was dog friendly for our pup. The corn bread, salad and wagu burger were all amazing and we arrived at happy hour which had great drinks promos. In summary tasty food with very friendly efficient service which we'd love to experience again.

It is lovely place with really great steak! Many restaurants serve it and it looks like medium rare, but it's very chewy. The steak at Odd Duck is made in the cast iron skillet in pizza oven and really soft and moist. All the dishes we've got were fresh and very tasty, staff is friendly and attentive. Again, you should probably try the steak!

  • 5/5 Kayum G. 2 years ago on Google
Highly recommended. Enjoyed every minute. We started with a Corn bread which they serve in a small cast iron pan drizzled with a little bit of honey and garlic butter. Followed by an absolutely fresh salad with feta and nuts. Finally as a main we had the fried fish head - fabulous. Crunchy and still super moist. Best fish head ever (the picture I took is terrible) Great curated accessible wine list. We had a very pleasant Zinfandel (45$). Service attentive and friendly.

Birthday dinner here. Ambience is nice, restaurant is well spaced for the outdoor but sheltered area. Ordered a varieties of food- quesadilla, pork loin, sirloin and their cornbread! All their food were amazing from the flavour perspective, how the side dishes complement well with the main meat. Meat style was okay but 5 star for the overall taste. Service was also great, felt welcome and sever knows his menu well. Most were recommend by him, especially the quesadilla, he describes the food well that it already sounds tasteful! We ordered cornbread last as we saw many people ordering it! It was super nice but we were quite full by then.

Solid food, good service. Odd Duck has a hip vibe. Definitely a younger crowd with the louder music. It’s a fun atmosphere. Overall food and drinks were good, but not earth shattering. One dish was worth the visit - scallops. Bottom line: I would check out the restaurant.

Loved every detail of this place! It was a little crowded and noisy but that's to be expected. Service was great and staff was really friendly. Valet went above and beyond. Food was exceptional.
