Outstanding spot. Huge but very busy! They clearly take smoke and fire very seriously as they do their pasta. I had the agnolotti followed by a special Porcetta (which was out of this world!!). Special praise for their garlic bread app. Apparently the bread comes in from NYC- was warm crisp and very garlicky. Perfect. Thanks to Lauren for great bar service and food guidance.

One of my favorite restaurants in the world! Service was stellar! Attentive, friendly, and efficient. Cocktails, Spring Fling and Havana 3am, were delicious, well balanced, great depth of flavor. The Hot and crispy Italian bread was as delicious and yummy as ever. This time we ordered the Caesar salad and Beet, Orange, and Fennel salad since it was so hot and we were looking for something light and both were refreshing and excellent. My Brother in Law's wood grilled bone in New York came and it was well done, not even a hint of pink, but the kitchen fired a new one and it was delivered a perfect medium rare. The server comped our three desserts for the issue which was appreciated. The Pacific Halibut was a little too salty for my taste and also a little over done but flavors were good so kept it. For dessert, the olive oil cake was the standout for us with the espresso afogato running a close second. As others have noted, make sure to make your reservations well in advance!!!

We happened to be walking past this restaurant a couple of months ago. It smelled fantastic and decided that we would try it. The reservation took some time and we finally went this week. To be honest, I think I got my hopes up a little bit too much. The food was good but, if I want to spend a pretty penny on dinner, I'm not sure I'd choose to come back here. The location is in downtown. When we went inside, it was pretty loud, hard to hear the hostess, and crowded. They took us to one table that was full and then decided to move us upstairs. Luckily, it was a bit calmer upstairs. The service was great. They were very quick to assist and had a lot of knowledge about the menu and specials. The bread by far was the best thing we had. I highly recommend it. We also tried the bone marrow which was delicious. I ordered a Havana 3 AM to drink. My partner got the tagliolini with blue crab. I got the Frutti di Mare. The tagliolini was the better of the two. For dessert, we tried the warm apple crostata and the tiramisu. Overall, I wasn't impressed with either. The crostata was burnt on the sides and top. The tiramisu was better but was pretty standard. All in all, it was a good time. We enjoyed most of the food. I think the atmosphere got me a little on edge for how crowded it was and some of the food just wasn't worth the price in my view. And, the wait for a reservation really got me thinking it was going to blow my mind. However, we're open to going back to try some of their other foods in the future.

HIGHLY recommended. If I could give 10 out of 10 I would, Not only was the quality of each dish absolutely mouth watering but their presentation was also very satisfying. As much as we all enjoy a delicious dish I must point out their amazing staff. Knowing every little detail of each individual appetizer, entree & special for the day while delivering high customer service/experience which is extremely important to me. This was my second time at Red Ash and once again I walked out full & satisfied. The garlic bread & octopus is a MUST try! I also tired bone marrow for the first time & I was not disappointed, every bite was perfection. They aren't shy with their portions either, worth every dollar! Perfect for date night/gatherings/business dinners. I wish I would have taking photos of the environment but I do have a photo of my dish, nothing compared to how it looked in person.

First time here, and it was spot on! From the ambience to the food, this is definitely the place to go! The service was 10/10, my waiter described the food & recommended several options, which got me excited! They do require masks while inside, but other than that, their food was excellent! Definitely coming back to try out more items!

Thank you for making such a memorable birthday dinner! Our service was excellent, the pasta was amazing and the champagne with the birthday card was the perfect way to end the night. Pro tip: ask to sit at the counter next to the wood burning stove to see the chefs work their magic. Best seat in the house.

Red Ash is definitely pricey, but we had some very good dishes. The gnocchi was creamy, rich, and decadent. Most memorable was the 60 oz steak we had. A lot of steak for the four of us, and definitely a showstopper. We had sorbet for dessert as we needed something "light" after all of the rich foods we ate. A very indulgent meal overall. Cannot wait to return and try new dishes.

The food was outstanding! Definitely order the garlic bread. I got the truffle beef shoulder pasta and my girlfriend got the spicy sausage rigatoni. We finished it off with the espresso affogato. Everything was next level cooking. The only complaint is that our waiter wasn’t very friendly. He didn’t even mention his name and was very short with us when taking our order. The first thing he asked was if we’d like bread brought to the table (which made it sound like it was free) only for us to find on the bill that it was $8. It was delicious and I would’ve bought it anyways but I don’t like to be tricked.

Make sure to make RESERVATIONS early in the day. We arrived 15 min early and sat at the bar. We received service from the bar and another young lady. They both were very knowledgeable about the dishes. Gave us great suggestions and explanations of dishes. Drinks are STRONG. We asked for bone marrow, the Italian garlic bread and carpaccio. Italian bread is to die for, crispy outside, soft inside. The carpaccio has a great combination of ingredients, I personally added a couple of lemon juice drops which totally enhanced the flavor. The bone marrow was buttery and with a strong aroma and flavor. The soft shell crab was not on the menu, ask for it!!! It was amazing. We asked for the crab pasta, 10/10! For dessert the apple crostata was amazing! Kudos to the pastry chef!!

The food was delicious, the service was amazing, our server went above and beyond to make the experience memorable. The food is on the pricey side but it worth it. I would encourage anyone to get a reservation because this place is popular.

From start to finish, everything was delicious! We had the bread, snapper crudo, capelletti, agnelotti, and gelato. To drink, the Satan's circus, then espresso martini. It was all pretty fabulous! Service was prompt, and food came out at good times and temps. We did wish we had gotten the bone marrow and will next visit!

Waited 2 month for reservations. Red Ash is a place you have to try. Friendly staff, very comfortable setting. Second time going back, first time order the porterhouse this time needed something light so went with the Halibut which was delicious, it was abit dry but that can be fish sometimes, it did have a little kick with the chili which I loved. I also got the Agnolotti which was good, the truffle slices was the perfect topping, the braise beef was so soft and tenders. The spaghetti is a must try. The home made sauce was soooooo delicious along with the home made pasta, it was perfect. And Ofcourse the Buratta is a must have, hands downs it was perfect. The bone marrow was just ok, abit upsetting our bone barely had any marrow on it so felt that was a waste to order. Overall just for the experience and food I will definitely go back if I had a special occasion or to celebrate something.

Red Ash was one of the reasons I wanted to visit Austin, and have been looking forward to this for some time. It absolutely didn't disappoint. The staff was amazing, the Tiramisu was the best I've ever had. However the Roasted bone marrow was one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. I will come back every time I visit Austin.

Been here a few times. Extremely hard to get a reservation. The food is high quality and pretty good but for how hard it is to get a reservation, it’s definitely a bit overhyped. The tomato & burrata dish was delicious and the rigatonici alla compagnolia was really good too but we weren’t that impressed with the olive oil cake & tiramisu. Great drink selections!

A must visit if you are in Austin. This restaurant never fails. I cannot speak highly enough about the quality of the food. House made pasta (they an in house gluten free alternative), lots of flavors, lots of butter! They have smaller portions for some of the plates, which allows you to get more variety to try. Bread is a must. It is impossible to get a reservation last minute, plan your visit far in advanced. There is a parking lot right across the street for those that drive.

Was really excited to try this place. Had heard from multiple sources that it was the best Italian in town. While the food was good, it wasn’t life-changing. You can find better pasta elsewhere. Great staff though! It is a good spot to grab drinks.

My husband and I celebrated our ten year anniversary here and Jacob was our server. He was amazing! Kind, professional and made the night special for us. He provided some recommendations to guide our food choices as well which was great. The whole experience was awesome and we can’t wait to visit again!

Amazing as always. We always try to eat here when ever we're in Austin. Best pasta in Texas by far, it would be hard to find better pasta in Italy. All of their dishes are excellent not just pasta. And they have the best garlic bread of any place I have been to. Must try just make sure to make reservations in advance.

Unbelievably delicious. Every single bite, of everything single dish was perfect. We were a 4 top and ordered a ton of food. Mostly the seafood dishes. Been a long time since I've had food spiced and seasoned that well. Being subtle is not this restaurants lane. BIG flavors, BIG portions. I can't wait to go back and try the steaks. Only negative: They needed to turn the air lower, it was hot in there. Being super crowded all the time certainly doesn't help with the air temp. PS: If it says "spicy" on the menu, they mean it. ❤️🔥

Delicious! Sometimes we leave nice restaurants regretting the price or not feeling full, not here! The portions were huge. Every dish was perfectly curated and the flavors were phenomenal. Highly recommend the halibut for fish and the Bolognese for red sauce. Tiramisu was not traditional but was still really tasty.

Fantastic meal! The service was what you would expect for a high class restaurant. Would really recommend doing this restaurant family style. Ordering a few apps, a few mains and splitting it with your party! The bone marrow risotto and the gnocchi were fabulous!

My boyfriend and I love to go out and this was our first time here. Booking in advance is worth the wait! The restaurant and ambiance was amazing. Service from any worker we encountered was outstanding especially our server Josh. He was down to earth and helpful about any questions we had. Food was seriously top-tier. Cocktails were delicious, as was the wine that came from an extensive menu. Definitely in my top 3 favorite restaurants now. Would recommend to everyone. Thank you!

Absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this Italian restaurant! The service was top notch, our server was so knowledgeable and friendly and made our experience that much more enjoyable. We shared plates which they recommend and that was very helpful because I wanted to try everything on the menu!

One of the best dining experience I've had in Austin. The cocktails and small plates were perfect, especially the red snapper crudo. The pappardelle alla bolognese was hard not to devour immediately. Half portion will get you there. For sides, pick the broccolini over the cauliflower. For desserts, pick the affogato over the tiramisu.

First time visiting here. Restaurant is located in downtown where parking is difficult. Yet valet parking is available next door. Popular restaurant. I tried to book a reservation two weeks earlier but there was no availability. So I walked in around 5 and seated at the bar. Had Spring Fling and loved it. Started with Octopus A La Plancha. The octopus was perfectly grilled and seasoned, but the sauce was a over-salty for the greens. I was offered extra greens to mix in but it was still brackish. I had FRUTTI DI MARE and it came with a lot of seafood. The look and the taste of dish were great. It’s flavoring and seasoning with the seafoods was appealing. As for pasta, the black and white spaghetti was slightly soft and thus not my favorite. Overall it was a satisfying experience and I’d come back here when I visit Austin in future.
