A local friend sent me to Koriente, an Asian-inspired, no-frills shop on the edge of downtown. Since the building itself doesn't stick out, it's easy to miss unless you look on Yelp and see the 1,000+ reviews and 4.5 star rating. I went for lunch on a Monday afternoon and walked right in. I ordered the milk tea boba and a rice bowl with egg and shrimp. It came with each component and sauce on it's own and I mixed it together. It was so flavorful! It also came with miso soup. There are a few tables inside, but the back patio is where it's at. It's quintessential Austin with lights strung up and art on the walls.

Update 20 Dec: mostly photos but still worth ordering 5 Oct: So ive had a few more items and its definitely good. The chicken is always moist not dry, the noodles are well cooked, and veggies soft. Most items ive had i would add garlic or a meat to it. The size always fills me up for lunch. When you ask for spicy, yes its spicy. So ill continue to get food from here. Also its still through grubhub and never had a problem or missing item from them. (Old review from here, Im giving 2 cause ive only eaten it once as a delivery from grubhub. I asked for spicy on an Obake B bowl. Theres seeds from the peppers that meh dont make it taste that great. I know thats where the heat comes from but its annoying. Once i order more items from this place my rating will be different but for now only once its 2 stars. Wish they had kimchi as a side.)

I love Koriente and have been getting delicious food here since they opened but I’m sad to see the service and quality going down hill a bit. No dine in service, everything is in a plastic container. The food flavor is still delicious but I think it would have been more enjoyable without the guilt of wasting plastic containers. I hope Koriente goes back to providing delicious food with less waste. Maybe consider compostable containers and not using single use bags for take out orders.

Please reopen dine in. The 102 degree heat is not patio friendly. Also miss the complementary soup, salad and pickle. Food is 5 star, have been dining here for 15 years, quality and flavor is always perfect.

Maybe a lot of vegetarians are posting reviews but I don’t understand the rating of this place. To start, I should’ve turned around and left when I read the no indoor dining sign. Sitting on the patio they do have misters which is helpful in 100 degree weather. Ordered the Teriyaki Chicken. I feel like I got microwaved chicken thighs on a bed of bland rice with some unseasoned broccoli and carrots. I don’t get it. Much better options for Asian inspired food in the area.

This use to be one of my favorite places to grab a quick bite to eat. Unfortunately, the Google listing says you can dine in. This is not the case. They never reopened their dining space for eating. I definitely will not be coming back here again. This may as well be a food truck. You can choose to eat out in the scorching sun in 100 degree weather on their back patio with a fan that blows hot air into your face. The quality of the food has definitely declined. The noodles tasted super burnt. The lettuce they added to one of their plates was also gross.

Hot dog, that was good. But to be clear: there are no hot dogs here. Fast, friendly service. Limited outside seating on the patio, but I didn't wait long at noon on a Tuesday. Dumplings and japchae. Both excellent quality.

Fresh, fast, healthy! Very nice spot for a quick lunch take out or delivery. It came in quite quick! It is a very balanced and healthy Asian food option. The flavours are bland, but enjoyable if you’re on a healthy diet. Only thing is that the meat and vegetables side was a little saltier to my taste.

This is definitely one of my favorite spots in Austin. I love eating here because its healthy and delicious. I prefer the teriyaki chicken over the spicy chicken. The dumplings are amazing too! I don't think I have ever had a dumpling with this filling making it unique. It's also extremely reasonably priced. Also the food holds up really well even thought its takeout only!

Great place to grab lunch to go — so good I ate here twice while in Austin. Super friendly staff. The first visit they gave me a drink on the house and the second visit, free soup! Def recommend the mix mix bowl.

Entrees were pretty good. I liked the rice medallions and the chicken had good flavor. The miso soup was basically water with miso flavoring but it was free so whatever. Overall I'm satisfied and would recommend

I had the Obake Bowl A with tofu and rice noodles. It wasn't too flavorful. Had a soy sauce taste. I'll get something else next time.

I felt that the dishes were worth the piece and they were a great mix of being unique and great tasting. I wish I could sit inside but I understand that every restaurant has its way of doing things. Please clean the tables for your customers outside as it’s limited seating. The parking is an issue and you want to keep your car in vision in the area. Overall, it is a good place to pick up a quick lunch if you are in downtown!

Wow. Just wow. An amazing experience with great food and a great atmosphere. This would probably be my number one recommendation for dinner at Austin. Extremely cheap for fresh and tasty food. I got the Bi Bim Bop with mild chicken and half rice/ half noodles which I would say is the most worth it item purely based on the quantity of food. It’s pictured in the circular bowl. We also got miso soup which was pretty good and cheap. We also got boba which was really delicious. It was better than many of the boba shops I’ve been to. My girlfriend got the Shiitake Tofu which she loved. Based off of everything I’ve described to you how much would you assume this would cost: 2 appetizers, boba, and two large entrees. Everything combined was 38.00. Also something else to appreciate was the website. As someone who likes to see other people’s feedback, the customer rating next to each dish really helped in my decision making. Simply put, it is probably the best restaurant experience I’ve ever had. It is a must for anyone looking for good and cheap Pan-Asian food in Austin.

Japanese curry chicken was really great and the mix mix bibimbap is fresh and healthy with the tuna. Koriente is a great option if you’re looking for a healthy or consistent meal. My go-to when I don’t know what to get down town.

No other restaurant could’ve satisfied my boyfriend and I more. The price was more than reasonable, the food was delicious and plenty, the outdoor seating area was shaded, and best of all: they had boba. One thing to keep in mind is that they don’t have indoor dining, but I will say that the outdoor space was very comfortable. I got the mango boba with almond milk and the tofu mushroom dish. In the last photo, my boyfriend’s meal was the mixmix bibimbap

This is a gem of a place. I’ve been coming here for 8yrs when come into town. I love the flavors and it’s always consistent. 🩷

Food was very good, decent prices. They have no indoor seated though so we had to sit on a porch put back. They did have fans but it was a pretty unfortunate circumstance with the heat.

The food here is delicious. I was in Austin for a conference, recently, and this restaurant was within walking distance of the convention center. I had the Pan-Seared Ahi Tuna (cooked medium at an employee's suggestion even though I normally eat it rare), miso soup, and peach ginger tea. They give great portions and the food was delicious (I didn't take a picture before I dug in, unfortunately). I was also eyeing the Lemon Pepper Papaya salad, so I decided to go back again the next day. That was my absolute favorite and I added salmon to make it more filling. The restaurant is quaint with indoor and outdoor seating in the heart of the city. The service was great and they gave me a complimentary miso soup the next day, I assume because I either came back two days in a row or because I brought new folks with me the second time. Either way, it was appreciated. If I'm ever in Austin again, I will definitely be back.
