The atmosphere and vibe were in line with similar restaurant concepts where edge art and Japanese culture meet. Excellent presentation that matches the restaurant theme. The quality of the food is good, but not worth the price. Service was pretentious and lacked the common courtesy one would expect from the price point. Open indoor and outdoor seats were held for reservations, requiring a wait to get a table, but it was clear the reservation system or process by which they manage their table utilization seriously reduces their possible table turnover and just gives Austin culture a bad rap, especially when the reserved tables were unfilled. I would avoid unless you are getting casual drinks and a few happy hour appetizers before going to another place for dinner.

Friendly service, great atmosphere, but after we informed the server of a shellfish allergy we received two dishes with shellfish in them during our omakaze. They did deduct them from the final price, however, management did not come over to speak with us about the situation. I have been to other restaurants where each person who serves a dish state, "the dish is (insert allergy here) free" so it gives peace of mind to those who are highly allergic to items.

Really good sushi spot, and our server was very cool. Everything was fresh and tasty. I give it four out of five stars, because it was amazingly fresh, but missed the mark just a hair on flavor pairings. Not to say it's not really good.. it definitely is! But it's high end 2nd tier for sure. The portions are a little small for the price, but I would expect that in downtown Austin. Recommend all of the nigiri, and the Sea3po roll was good. Would come back.

Such a unique sushi experience. The sushi was delectable and a true party in the mouth. With so many textures and delicious flavors dancing on your tastebuds, this is an experience you don’t wanna miss. This is on the pricey side. But worth it. It’s also Sustainable Restaurant!! Which is a huge turn on for me! Our server was this chill guy with a beard and hat and he was so sweet. They explain everything in front of you before you eat it so you know what you’re putting in your body. Another +. It’s a nice place for a romantic date or a catch up dinner with some friends.

I came here about a year ago and I still think about the meal I had all the time. Definitely the best and most unique date night restaurant I’ve ever been to. The decor is so cool, the theme of the restaurant is unique and trendy, and the servers couldn’t be nicer. I enjoyed every second of my meal here and can’t wait to come back next time I’m in Austin!!

We informed the server we were vegan and the drinks we were served had egg whites (which was also not listed in the menu ingredients), and they also almost recommended a dessert that wasn't vegan either. Also, note for vegans: they had massive dead fish in a freezer on display, hanging mere feet away from eating areas - honestly made me a bit nauseous :/ Server was kind tho and food pretty good, but I'd recommend Nori for vegan sushi over here

Special occasion visit, and the food was worthy! Not a comfortable dining space, though, and service was middle of the road, but since we were there for food it was a win. The non-alcoholic Ginger Cloud deserves special mention, as does the Voltron roll and the Tuna Tataki. Those were best in class. The rest was very good. Although listed as accessible, not actually wheelchair friendly, to note.

Lucky Robot is FANTASTIC! The weather was cold so my daughter and I had the Robot Ramen to warm up and this hit the spot. The noodles are fresh, the combo of pickled ginger, bean sprouts, ajitama egg, pork and pork broth delicious and flavorful and so well balanced. We also ordered edamame and the Robo Tuna Maki Rolls with the spicy mayo which I really enjoyed! The tuna was fresh and delicate combined with the panko togarashi was a nice soft and crunchy combo. I thought I was full until our hostess told us about the Yuzu Pie and Texas Tokyo Banana for dessert. We ordered the Yuzu Pie and had it not been for my daughter and social courtesy I would have shoved my face in this to experience it on another level. First of all the presentation was beautiful! The colors of the sauce and flower petals on the Yuzu Pie were beautiful like a Monet flower painting. Then came the flavors… OMG it touches your tongue and palette and it was an explosion of flavors that left me speechless! My daughter and I looked at each other and stopped to enjoy it and take in. The epic combo balance of sweet and tart, the delicacy of the pie and then crunch of the toasted pecans with blueberry and toasted meringue then the graham cracker and blueberry sauce! I couldn’t believe the layers of flavor. Each bite was sweet musical beauty. I’m glad our hostess took the plate when we finished or I would have waited for the right moment that nobody would be watching so I could lick the plate it was that good. We had eaten here before just before the pandemic hit and finally made the hour drive to come back to Lucky Robot and it was so worth the wait. Chef and our hostess are so friendly, wonderful and welcoming, everyone is so nice and knowledgeable of the menu. The ambience is colorful, fun and relaxing. The pink flowers hanging from the ceiling, artwork, lighting, table settings are so appealing. It’s definitely worth the hour long drive for us. I’m a single working dad so I try and do fun things for my daughter when we get the chance which isn’t often and this will always be our go to place for GREAT food GREAT staff and GREAT atmosphere. THANK YOU ALL AT LUCKY ROBOT.

This seems like one of those places that is overrated because people love the atmosphere since it is very beautiful inside. But the food itself was overpriced. We ordered 3 sushi rolls and it took a half hour to come out and it wasn't very busy. They looked messily done. I've eaten at many sushi resturants and rolls are normally crafted as an art. These looked like someone just threw it together. It tasted good but we left hungry. One roll only had 6 pieces while other 2 had 8 didn't seem to make any sense. The rolls were very expensive. I normally wouldn't have paid more than 8 dollars for these types of rolls not 16 they weren't anything special. I've had better sushi at the mall.

If you are visiting Austin and want the “Austin experience” then I would suggest it. Trendy and located right on south Congress makes for a east walkable pleasant experience. The atmosphere is great however the place is small. As for the sushi, it is good but wasn’t amazing as I thought it would be. They pride themselves on fresh quality sushi but just didn’t give me that authentic sushi feel. Maybe it’s because I’m from Houston and there are plenty of authentic sushi restaurant available there. Overall great for a date night or a night out. I like the dumplings the best over anything we ordered. Service was great

Excellent spot in the artsy south Congress streets. Fresh sushi, sashimi, and edamame. A diverse array of flavors for all Japanese-cuisine lovers. Even on a hot summer day the misters allow for a cool afternoon brunch.

This astounding high end sushi bar provides you with one of the most unforgettable experiences. You start off with the most inviting and charismatic hosts who ease into your experience with a bit of lighthearted conversation and a great explanation on what’s to come. Arriving completely clueless yet curious we were given the option of an “omakase”, a menu tasting meal for two. After giving our server Dani a brief summary of our liking, we were given a personally curated meal that perfectly fit each of our palates. The interior ambiance brought that current trendy Japanese approach which raises the bar for how comfortable you should feel when spending over $200 on a meal. (Be prepared to spend a little You’re paying for quality not quantity) A great first date spot if you’re trying to impress that special someone. Even better if you’re celebrating, reconnecting, or simply enjoying time alone.

What an amazing experience and what a gem of a restaurant. We went there during happy hour and treated us with a nice bottle of white wine which was 50% off the regular price. Amazingly welcoming staff, great and unique style and probably the best salmon sashimi I ever had in my life. Considering that I live in Taiwan for some 15 years and that I am also traveling to Japan on a regular basis that's quite a statement :) Yes, it was pricy because the 5 slices of this aged salmon cost me around $60 but this was an experience I will never forget. We'll be back!

Went to celebrate a birthday. The service was great...parking was a hassle and ended up paying over $20 for 2 hours. They were gracious enough to offer a birthday dessert : ) The cocktails were interesting and tasty. The sushi was good, but to be honest...I've had better. The décor is lovely. The place is small and cozy. Of the 2 desserts we had, the berry one was by far the best. The banana one was dry...and the frosting was super sweet.

Fantastic fish. Too bad there's only one place with this dry-aged stuff. Love the names of the rolls as much as the rolls themselves. Pork belly of the nigiri melts in your mouth. Place fills up quick. Got here around four on a Tuesday, and there was a wait in 30 minutes. Service was exceptional.

i went there to treat myself after several very difficult weeks in my life, which included a lot of being unable to eat. The service was amazing. I sat at the bar alone and delighted in some conversation with the chefs who are not just amazing food artists but who are also genuinely good people who could brighten anyone's mood. the experience had the self-care properties of a massage and nourished my body and soul, whatever that means. I highly recommend the amberjack, and the trout. just an amazing pieces fish here in Central Texas, which doesn't make any sense. but it happens here every night it seems.

Food is pricey but vv good. Everything tasted different than you expected, but in a positive way. Cool decor. Service was super slow, but they apologized and gave us the most insane wagyu dish. If u sit on the patio, be prepared to people watch and watch people watch you eat. But again, more pricey than you would expect.

Absolutely AMAZING sushi! The sushi was so light, the flavors were light, intentional, and fresh. Even the rice was next level! This is the legit sushi you expect to have from Japan. It honors the fish and accentuates it. Nothing is hidden, it's not smothered in sauce. You are meant to taste every ingredient. The brussel sprouts are a MUST. It will blow you away with the flavors. The service is fantastic. Everyone is friendly and they operate a bit uniquely. You have your main server, but literally everyone is ready to help and serve you. Alao, the kitchen operates on preparation/cooking time instead of ticket order, so dishes will come out in waves instead of all at once. For this reason, expect to enjoy your stay and the gorgeous atmosphere. It's best not to be in a rush. Due to the high quality in their fish, expect to pay for quality.

Really cool place with fantastic fish and a fun bar program. All of the food we had both cooked and raw were incredibly flavorful. The brussel sprouts were a real standout as an appetizer, and we were impressed with all of the nigri and maki we tried. The fish on top of the Voltron roll tasted very fresh and the sauces enhanced the flavor perfectly. Service was also great and our waitress was incredibly helpful in finding a perfect sake to go with our meal.

Ordered the Omakase and was definitely not disappointed! Every dish that was brought out was explained well and was different enough that we felt we tried a little bit of everything on the menu. I made reservations for inside a week before and was seated a little early after receiving a phone call that our table was ready. Will definitely be back to try the Sunday brunch. The transformer roll was one of our favorites.

We went on a Tuesday night. The staff was so attentive and helpful with the menu and gave us a complimentary roll. Food was delicious and full of flavor. We had dumplings and 3 rolls between 2 people and were full for $65. So good. So well priced.
