Wow. Absolutely stellar food, beautifully presented. We had the spicy shrimp, which was penne pasta with sauteed shrimp and a spicy marinara, green onion and bread crumbs. Also had rigatoni with spicy lamb and meatballs with roasted tomato sauce, roasted bell peppers, basil, pine nuts and a touch of cream. Also had duck confit with fig sauce, crispy polenta and green beans. Although everything was delicious, the truly amazing thing was the polenta. Have never had polenta like this anywhere any time anyplace. We will definitely come back and I can imagine that everything is as good as what we had

A good restaurant at the center. The soup was delicious, the main course was really good snd the most important was hot, like i like the pasta. The desserts was delicious. The service and the ambience was good.

Cozy place with comfort pasta. Great place for lunch specials not too busy and easy to get in and out quickly. Perfect portions sizes, the food is fancy looking but so good! The only con is the bread isn't complimentary like most Italian restaurants. Would recommend reservations at dinner as the place isn't very big.

It's the little things here : - The ragù bolognese is veal/beef/pork, and has barely a whiff of tomato, not unlike the RealVersionThereof™ (i.e., in Bologna) - The wine list is long on inexpensive reds (again, a fairly common touch in northern italy) - The "fried polenta" is surprisingly light, as is the "gorgonzola sauce" it sits on (a light cream sauce. who knew that such a thing existed!) - The service is friendly, and doesn't push the expensive stuff on you I could go on, but I'll stop here. The bottom line - this is the kind of place that you can find yourself coming back to, if only for a glass of wine, over and over again. Yet again, very Italian :-) Mind you, one non-Italian thing, the servings are AustinHuge™. Be warned :-)

The restaurant is our style...small, exposed brick with clean interior lines. We’ve had or sampled 4 different dishes and everything was good. Unfortunately, there was nothing that said “come back again to get this dish.”

I would say that the food is VERT tasty. I never had such a tasty carbonara (withour cream please). It is a familial restaurants so they out their hearts into their food. The server we had was rude, but ut was quickly forgotten after having our dishes. I will definetely hit back there whenever I am in Austin!!

Authentic Italian Restaurant with delicious food and awesome Drinks. I had a great time here with my wife cause that day i had my 1st Anniversary and she likes Italian Food. Staff was very kind and helpful and they gave us complementary Appetizer.

Very good Italian restaurant - one of the best in Austin. Great design in a small and comfortable setting. My wife is a conniseur of Carbonara and La Traviata has the best that she has ever had - even better than she had during a two week trip to Italy.

Cozy Italian on Congress. Pasta dishes were house made, table bread was good but not worth the upcharge. The ceasar salad stole the show. Great dressing tossed just right. A great bar fills about a third of the restaurant, but only beer and wine service.
