The bacon is as close to a religious experience as you'll come. The patio is great for al fresco dining... did I mention the bacon?

Just wow. The food is THAT GOOD! We had a long wait on a Sunday morning but it was worth it! There’s a parking garage right across the street, so that made it super easy to get to. Nice decor, it was super busy but we enjoyed our time. My friend had the steak egg and potato(SO GOOD I’m ordering this next time) and I had the goat cheese and bacon omelette which was delightful. The goat cheese was fluffy and it was all just so good. We also had mimosas. Best brunch EVER

The word Cafe does not accurately describe. Food was superb. Brie and clam starters highly recommend if you like spicy. Mains were suprisingly inexpensive. Great spot.

Great brunch place on Congress! Love the outdoor patio! It’s well worth the wait here. You’ll find menu items in classic brunch fare with little twists to make them unique. I had an omelette, which was stuffed with meat and peppers and served with some yummy salsa. Drinks here are pretty yummy too. Overall good value for what you’re getting.

One of the best brunch spots in Austin. It is small but worth the wait. Call ahead to put your name down to avoid the wait. The complimentary corn muffins are delicious and light to the taste, made from love for sure 😋. Highly recommend the sweet potato beignets and the bison carpaccio to start then carrot cake French Toast, which is to die for. It is so moist, so decadent and oh so satisfying. The Gouda potato cakes is a flavor party in your mouth with the bison sausage to counteract the richness from the Gouda. The vanilla cappuccino is spot on and goes well with the meal. Enjoy my foodie connoisseurs.

Some of the best cornbread and the omelettes are cooked just right. The Denver omelette is worth the money. Plenty of coffee, great location on South Congress. Probably the preferred cafe on the street after doing the rounds

The. Bartender was rude as we entered. We asked if we should wait to be seated and he sarcastically says "Uhh this is a restaurant so yea." Our actual waiter we hardly saw even though we were the only people there. The food was basic and needed more flavor. The manager was nice so there's that. Save your money and go someplace nice.

The staff was so personable and amazing. Food is delicious and it's a very nice place. There's a nice variety on the menu and it's quality. We sure will miss South Congress Cafe, but the vibe seems to have never left, so at least there's that! 1 star off for no kid's menu. It was really difficult finding something for our 1.5yo to eat as most of the sides were spicy (at least for a toddler). He ended up having to eat a tortilla and potatoes and, thankfully, that lasted him until we could get him home for an actual dinner. They didn't have children's cups either (small, plastic w lid & small straw) They had to give us a to-go coffee cup for my son's water. Fish sticks, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, broccoli, and fruit cups, anyone?

My Caesar's salad was unique the cutons was made out of cheesey grits and the outside of the cuton had the perfect crunch the Caesar dressing so far is the best I've tasted...yummy! Only thing I would change... cutting up the lettuce a little bit...friendly service and clean

Friendly service, the brunch is delicious. Got the shrimp n' grits and it was super tasty. Coffee is good, mimosas are solid

Absolutely delicious brunch spot on South Congress!! Great for groups or be prepared to wait at the bar drinking delicious Bloody Mary’s. The whole entire menu is good. You cannot go wrong. They really know how to make things spicy if you ask!! The service is great and fast as well. We got the carrot cake French toast as a dessert to share. That was a mistake; next time I will get my own!! It was decadent.

We visited midweek in November, restaurant was virtually empty. First class waiting staff, very welcoming and helpful. Sadly 1/4 menu items not available due to "delivery issues from suppliers" so several members of our party had to select their 2nd or 3rd choice. Staff were apologetic. Food was OK but nothing to get too excited about, it was hot and good portion sizes, calamari recommended.

Great place for the adventurous eater. Their menu has a multitude of different proteins and flavors. The restaurant itself is very clean and modern. When we went, it was rather empty and quiet. So I'd say it's a good date night spot before hitting the town.

Lively atmosphere, good service and good quality food. The burger was good, if a little rich for my taste. But even though they were busy, I didn't wait long for anything and the waitress was attentive and apologetic for the wait I did have. A little thing but a huge attention to detail was the butter. It was soft, seasoned, and whipped, easily spread on the warm bread unlike a hard rock you have to crack with an ice pick like other places.

Great brunch! It can be quite the wait, but there are a lot of shops nearby to help kill time. The carrot cake French toast was amazing, and on the weekends you get free corn bread with honey butter which was delicious. Definitely worth the wait. No military discount though which is disappointing.
