The atmosphere at Hula Hut is my favorite thing about the place! The fresh salsa is awesome and I had a really delicious margarita. πŸ˜‚πŸŽ‰ We also enjoyed enchiladas, and burgers and great customer service. We ate inside because it was so hot outside and also enjoyed watching a turtle swim in the river. Thank you!

My girlfriend took me to Hula Hut for my Birthday lunch , we absolutely loved it there ! We got there pretty early before it was packed. We were immediately seated and had an amazing waitress, her name was Melissa and she was great! She was able to answer any questions really quickly about portions of food on the menu and was always attentive to us. She even got us a complimentary dessert for my birthday. We ordered Nachos and Fajitas. They were delicious and were served to us pretty quickly. We also enjoyed our view of the water as well. I loved the atmosphere and cannot wait to go back !!!

Great atmosphere. Great food on the Colorado River. Tex-Mex with some Hawaiian thrown in. Great views with covered outdoor seating. Highly recommended by the locals.

Fantastic food and experience. The atmosphere is amazing. From the interior to the outdoor seating and the dock, it's all gorgeous. The food was stellar, the Hawaiian fajitas are unique and very tasty! I would also recommend their frozen drinks and their chicken tortilla soup. Great service all around.

Aloha, was definitely on island time here. Great island vibe, especially with the decor. Staff was friendly and great. The bartender was really great, she was on top of her job and good people. The Hawaiian twist on Tex Mex was s nice surprise. You have to try the shrimp tacos with the mango salsa. And they have floor tortillas! Will be back soon, Mahalo...

The place is pretty and the food we tried was very good. I like all the decorations and the theme. It has a Great water view. We sat at the inside bar … the service at the bar was not good, actually it was kind of rude. We got our drink in a plastic cup .. when the people next to us had glass cups. We got food and not silverware. We had to ask even for napkins… He was not friendly. We drank frozen margarita in frozen piΓ±a colada. We ate veggie nachos and fish tacos

The food was excellent, the prices fair, rthe service by the servers is also very good. I enjoyed the fajitas and the meat was so tender and tasty! The view of the lake is also a plus in this place. Great for good photos and spending a good time with family and friends. One of the best in Austin

Two weeks ago, I visited Hula Hut on Lake Austin in Austin, Texas. I have probably eaten at Hula Hut 100 times over the last 25 years, and I always appreciate the food, view and atmosphere. Parking can be a challenge, but try to utilize the Oyster Landing parking lot at the top of the hill across Lake Austin Boulevard if the main parking lot by Hula Hut, Mozart's and Abel's is full. Service is quick, and meals are relatively inexpensive. My secret is to try to find bar seating (which offers the same full menu) rather than waiting for a table, which during the weekends can be at least an hour. We also saw an office Christmas party having their lunch outside, and it looked amazing!

The food here was very interesting, definitely a unique concept. We didn’t want to wait 30 min to be seated so we tried to find a table at the bar and got lucky. I wanted to see a nice sunset but this wasn’t the perfect place for it. Everything else was fine.

We go here for the view but come back for their good Mexican food. Their freshly made tortillas and tacos are always tempting. I'm just a big fan of their salsa dip. You may have to wait before getting seated. And during which time you can enjoy the lake view and snap some pics.

Rachel, at the inside bar helped me. She was very friendly and calm. Even though she was busy, she took the time to visit. I was able to sit right down inside and was never rushed to order. The prices are great for being a fun joint on the water. The portions are huge too. And who says you can't manifest queso?! Lol someone ordered it and left and I got to enjoy it. I will definitely go back and work on Sitting outside. Oh, and don't forget to stop and watch the ladies make the tortillas. I got the Palm Hugger Nachos with chicken. A nice filling yet light meal for a hot day.

I visited this place with a friend. The food was good. We ordered a Pu Pu platter and shared it. It was a lot of food we couldn't finish it. The salsa and chips were excellent. It was a very busy Saturday around 1 pm and the wait staff was a bit scattered but our service was fine. We had to scan the QR code on the table for the menu. No big deal but be prepared for that.

Loved Hula Hut, right on the water and a good spot to catch the sunset. The frozen lime margaritas on a hot day were great. The food was fine and worth it not being absolutely fantastic for the drinks and location.

Food decent for what it is & you can't beat the location on the lake for a sunset spot, but I've never seen the service be so bad. It's clear they are understaffed, & our server was trying her darndest (there was another server who was not in the least bit interesed in hustling or helping anyone that wasn't one of his tables. We literally saw people waiting around a dirty table in the bar area FOR AN HOUR before it was cleared. The service industry in general is struggling.. .but this prime spot is beginning to lose its luster for many of us.

Visiting from nearby city. The lake at night felt just like being oceanfront. We opted to sit our party outside. Near the bar there is self seating and we were able to pull up 10 chairs. Our waitress was quick and pleasant. Our crowd favorites were fried fish sandwich and shiner steak fajitas. Will definitely return.

We used to love coming here alot in the 90's, for the awesome food, atmosphere and sunsets. But it seems it's clearly not the same. I had the fish tacos which were dry, hardly any lettuce and sauce on the tacos. The salsa had no pineapple flavor to it, but it was plenty spicy which was good πŸ‘. Sorry to give a not so good review, hope you step up in the future.

Ordered veggie enchiladas and it was very tasty. The chips and salsa were also amazing and I could not stop eating them. My friend got shrimp enchiladas and he enjoyed it too. 4 stars because I found a chicken piece in my veg enchiladas. The server was apologetic and did not charge me for that dish though.

Great food on the lake with a resort like atmosphere. We had the coconut shrimp. Chips and cheese dip queso. Fried stuffed Avocado a long with a delicious Bloody Mary. I like to bring friends, family and clients to relax and enjoy the sunset on the lake.

It was the perfect spot to get away for lunch on our anniversary weekend. We hadn't been in Austin in a very long time and Hula Hut did not disappoint. Beautiful view of the lake. We got to see turtles and coots and fishermen. Food was good. Too much for the two of us to eat. The pu pu platter said feeds 2 to 4 people, it would have been ideal for 3.

I mean the name alone says your gonna have fun! We have been here many times and it’s always been great! The food was amazing as always, the staff was friendly and good as well. Be prepared for little to no parking but you can park across the street up the hill.

Fantastic food and great atmosphere! The vibe here was very welcoming and relaxing, the view is beautiful, especially during the sunset! I came here with my family on a weekend and there was a 1 hour wait, honestly it was worth it to me. Our server was lovely, my food was delicious, none of my family members complained. If you decide to order a dessert I highly recommend the tres leches cake! It was so delicious, one of the best tres leches cake I’ve had, I also ordered fried ice cream and it was okay, I wouldn’t order that. I recommend coming here at least once!

Loved the Hula Hut. The location is awesome! The service was great. We flew into Austin to go to dinner with our daughter and her boyfriend and they picked this place which thought was so fun. We will definitely be back next time we are in Austin again.

Very good hangout, happy hour, and dinner spot prior to enjoying downtown Austin! Be ready to be on a wait... Great places like this keep the crowd! Very good TexMex! Ooo and the water makes the experience that much better!

hula hut is a great option for a fun and delicious meal on the river. the seating options are great and give you a fun experience as you look out on the water. the food was very tasty with generous portions. with all that being said, the atmosphere gets doused a little with how crazy busy it is and just how packed in we felt. also our server had to tell multiple people to see the hosts for seating which got old. would go again, just maybe when it isn’t so busy or in a less congested seating area.
