Mediocre tex mex, average service barely. Half our table's order came out 15 minutes after the other half. Meh.

The Migas con Chorizo and Chelada are delicious! Breakfast all day and very attentive and knowledgeable service.

Jonathan “The Manager” threatened me and threatened to tow my car from The Maudie’s parking lot on South Lamar. There was no where to park, so I parked in their to go parking - not illegally, not a disabled parking space. I was trying to eat dinner there (I’m from out of town). He was standing outside the front door blocking the door when I got out of my car. I tried to enter as a patron to have dinner. When I was very rudely interrupted. I guess they aren’t interested in making money or having repeat customers. And I will never eat here again. I advise you not eat here either. Adios Felicia!

Delicious as always, and super fast since we both ordered crispy taco plates from the lunch menu. #2 for me, #3 for the hubbs, and at $8.50 per plate our bill was under $20 (before tip, of course).

My wife and I stopped in here on a Saturday for some lunch. The parking lot was full, and the restaurant was relatively crowded... We had a brief wait. My wife enjoyed a meal with cheese enchiladas, rice and beans and a taco. I had their fajita salad with combination chicken and beef. You receive complimentary chips and salsa. The chips and salsa were very tasty, and my wife enjoyed her meal. I enjoyed the generous portion fajita salad including the jalapeno ranch dressing. The only reason I have not rated at 5 Stars was the service was slow at times...perhaps because they were busy? Not sure....but we did enjoy the food. Prices are reasonable, our meal including two soft drinks was $30.25 before tip.

It's good to Be back Here! I can't get enough of those Bacon 🥓 🥚 and 🧀 breakfast 🌮!!! Also if you don't know get their frozen margarita with a tequila floater. It's my go-to.

I got the beef fajitas for one. The beef tasted like worcesterchire sauce. More onions and peppers than meat. The hibiscus tea was good. The salsa is very mild and bland, I like it spicy. $17.50 kind of expensive for the small portion of meat. I thought the queso was too expensive so I didn't get it. Waiter was decent brought me extra salsa and a refill.

Classic Austin TexMex eatery. Do yourself a favor and try it. The Power Bowls are amazing. Shrimp tacos are delish. Hubby's fave is the Maggie's plate. We just order what we feel like... and it's always great. 💯 yummy queso!

One of my favorite places when I lived in Austin. Love to come back for the delicious enchiladas perfectos, the name says it all, cheese enchiladas with chili sauce AND diced white onions. I always get at least one margarita because they are sooo good. Can’t wait til my next visit. Thank you Maudie’s Too.

Everything about this location is fantastic! The food was more than on point and the service was quick and efficient. Very friendly staff, and you can even bring your four legged side kick to the patio with you apparently!

Monday night happy hour is the best. We've had the most incredible server every time and he's so on top of it with drink and chip/salsa refills. This is a go to for affordable Mexican food! So good. We love the grandpa's special. Sitting outside is great but inside is kinda loud

I used to love coming here with my friends for drinks and food. It’s been a minute. After seeing some films, I stopped here for a late lunch before heading home. There were only a few tables, albeit one of 6-8, but service was quite slow to get my menu and drink order. I got a Fajitas and Greens Salad which wasn’t the best. The meat was a bit pale (sear the meat!) and I couldn’t taste the dressing. The mixed greens was mostly romaine lettuce and I was expecting a spring mix but that’s okay. Maudie’s can do better!

Queso was great. Many gluten free options. Hot, fresh, great Tex Mex. Patio dining was pleasant.

Good service but this place is grimy. Smells bad inside with hobos loitering out front. The breakfast tacos were sub par, lots of grease and on-store bought tortillas. A Tex-mex restaurant that doesn’t make their own tortillas is always a red flag.

The food was pretty good and they have a few quality veggie items on their menu. It is an alright location for vegans. The food was pretty tasty for the most part but the guac is a bit bland. The patio is nice and for being on south lamar is is not overly distracting. The service was quick and friendly.

Great service. Margaritas were perfect. Enjoyed the food. Good menu selection. We had a big party and wait was minimal. Highly recommend.

Ordered Street Tacos and the meat was very over cooked and hard. Had to flagged down the hostess for refills? Chocking on hard meat ? Chips and Salsa were okay. Chips kind of cold and Stale? Beans were way too Spicy even though I asked server if they were Spicy or not?

Have always loved Maudies. Was so excited to get back after living out of the country for over 6 years. Food and margs are excellent. The waitress clearly did Not want to be there, waiting on me and my friends. Other than that, it was a good time, and good food. 👍

We were told that this place had excellent beef fajitas so we decided to check it out. It was a weeknight so it wasn't too crowded. But despite several servers standing around talking to each other throughout the evening, our service was painfully slow. Twice we had to find someone to place more drink orders. The fajitas were just ok. Seemed like pre made dinners and were just warm when they made it to the table. This was a disappointing experience and we will not be headed back again.

Had dinner here before a show. We were pleasantly surprised by the happy hour menu, and I enjoyed the Mexican Martini. The waitress, Siri, was the best! She gave us great service, and seemed friendly, hip and caring. The food was delicious, an edgy take on Tex Mex fare, flavorful and spicy. Great location to South Lamar shows and shopping. Highly recommend!

Been here twice now. Busy place but can usually get a seat with a small wait. Ponied up to the bar waiting for a table and met some great peeps! Had the chicken enchiladas once and the shrimp tacos the next. Decent food and fast service. Margaritas are really good! Just a walk down the street from the Saxon Pub for live music after dinner!

I ordered Pollo Monterrey and it was very delicious and good price too. I really like their chips and salsa. But asked for Queso and was charged $7 for a Chille con queso even though I was served a plain Queso. I don't recommend the Queso.

We stopped here on Saturday afternoon. Just happened to drive by and at the time it wasn't that busy so why not. The queso Diablo Sol Food (Queso) was really good and much better than queso at other restaurants. The fajitas were also very good and included a generous amount of bell pepper and onions which I LOVE. The service was excellent and my drink was always full...Yes that is important to me. After all said and done the price was also very reasonable for that we purchased. (2 drinks (non-acholic), Queso, and two fajita plates) Summary: 1-10 Service: 10 (we didn't go during busy time)(my drink was always full :)) Cleanliness: 9 (we were outside, but the tables looked clean) Food: 9 (when compared to similar restaurants) Price: 9 (when compared to similar restaurants) Restroom: N/A Didn't use because I wear diapers....haha jk

Staff is meh, location is a little gross, but gosh I love me some Maudies. Greasy as hell but I love Tex Mex. I felt right at home even if it's pretty dingy and the interior is a bit dark. Guess lights ain't a thing. Good food. Their burritos are just enchiladas with flour tortillas but they slap. One of the best trashy Tex Mex places.

Blackberry mint margaritas...yes please ...also the best french toast in town. Come in for breakfast and stay for day drinking, it's a great spot for reminiscing about old Austin.
