Absolutely can not beat the breakfast. Best in town. I’ve been going to Jim’s for 16 years. Very friendly staff and dang good food.

I just love going to Jim's Restaurant. Food is so good ; prices are so down to earth. I love seeing their primary customers, who generally are seniors . They have an extended menu for everybody and a senior menu but are not limited to great prices. My favorite dish from Jim's is Liver and Onions. For those who like "weird" stuff, I absolutely recommend this dish. Liver and onions it are not weird at all, but for some people, it is even disgusting . I just love it, and I will go back every time I can to get the same from the menu.

Jim's is a great dinner from San Antonio. The service, food and atmosphere are good. They are consistently busy but for good reason.

There's not too many diners left out there so do yourself a favor and check out this gem. Friendly service and good food makes this place a regular for me. The only minor issue I had was the brown gravy was very salty the last trip. I hope it's not regularly that salty because I prefer brown gravy on my mashed potatoes and white gravy on my chicken fried steak. I still love the place.

I absolutely love Jim's. The service is fast and efficient The waitresses are always there to fill up your coffee cup and to take your order quickly. Food typically comes out in about half the time you would expect it to so you know it's hot and fresh. It's always impressive how fast they get it out. This is an old style diner so little bit of a throwback to what you're used to getting with all the new yuppie restaurants in Austin. This place has stood the test of time and there's many locations all over Austin and San Antonio. The menu is your typical diner / American food. I prefer the chicken fried steak or the catfish plate. The coffee is always hot and rather strong all day and night. The breakfast menu is definitely up to par and they know how to take care of business. You can get in and out of here in about 20 minutes if you're in a hurry and it's the same bacon and eggs that you're going to get any higher in end joint in South Austin for half the price. I love how easy the parking is and anytime I'm in the area I can't help but stop in to Jim's.

The onion rings and Motzerella sticks were delicious. The club sandwitch was really good. My only issue is that it looks old and that the ambiance says senior citizen lunch facility (nothing wrong with that just saying). Overall a good bite to eat reasonable prices.

Loved the chicken fried pork chop breakfast, now it's gone. Just when you think you find a great go-to breakfast, they change the menu. The staff is great, the gravy is not - tastes like water and flour. Loved the grits and biscuits. Not going back til they bring the chicken fried pork chops back.

Jim's is one of the best restaurants anywhere. It was founded in San Antonio by Jim Hasslocher. All their food is exceptional. The Oak Hill location is my favorite. Their key is the manager Robyn. She does everything!

Great diner with good food! If you want to have the diner experience, this is the diner to go to. Great salad and huge entre. We got dessert to go and it was right around $20 per person. We were stuffed and had enough left over for 1 meal. Definitely worth making Jim's a regular stop. Went again and ordered the Frontier Burger. All I have to say is Big Mac WHO??? If you like the Big Mac, this will blow it out of the water! We added pickles and extra sauce and it really hit the spot! I think this is my new favorite here. Oh, and if you order onion rings, you get fries too, SCORE! And our waitress, Sylvia, was AMAZING! Such a sweet and attentive lady. GO HERE ALREADY!!!

3*s or "okay" does not adequately express how much we enjoy Jim's: - the food is homey and what's expected, or a bit better, than expected at a family diner - service generally better than expected because the wait-staff is fairly stable and get to know customers - a surprisingly extensive menu, especially breakfast "4*s", however, could over-sell as the kitchen is more variable. At the best all the food comes out hot! at worst only one meal at the table is hot: because the kitchen got overwhelmed / miscalculated getting meals out close together. Wait-staff is important here: an experienced and attentive server can see that coming and mitigate it.

Excellent breakfast and waitress! The food was made perfect...I love extra crispy bacon and hash browns. The salsa was spicy enough for me! Haven't been to a Jim's in a long time, but I definitely plan on coming back! Thanks for the great experience! Started my day off RIGHT! IG: gmtvmodelVanessa

Excellent diner. I've only ever eaten breakfast here, but I've always left satisfied. Faye is an amazing waitress. Can't wait to come back and ask for her specifically.

Fran was a fantastic server. However the food quality has gone way downhill. I ordered my eggs over medium and my hash browns crispy. What I got was eggs with runny uncooked whites and my hash browns were barely cooked on one side only.

What a great classic American Diner. The coffee is always hot and the service is always amazing. Jim's definitely goes above and beyond your expectations because it is always clean and the folks working there are always pleasant and easy going. Shrimp and catfish are my favorite and it's only $10. I make sure to give a big tip of course. The coffee is excellent and they are quick to refill it. Breakfast is served all day and anything on the menu is delicious. They run a tight ship and I have never been disappointed. Thank you Jim's!

Jim's restaurants are consistent. The serve traditional American dishes that are both satisfying and reasonably priced. The wait service is usually fast, attentive and friendly. I've been coming to this one for 30+ years and have never had a bad experience.

I always enjoy a meal at Jim's, whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner. Their food is hit and fresh and brought to your table in a timely manner. The wait staff are wonderful and friendly, and the meals are very reasonably priced. I would also suggested ordering a slice of pie after your meal because you won't be disappointed.

So let's start with Jim's is completely solid. The food is good and the price point matches it. You can get a reasonably good meal for a reasonably good price. It could use a little updating to make it a bit brighter but it's comfortable and tasty. My only complaint is that It tastes like they may use margarine to cook the eggs and I much prefer butter. The big kicker for the 5th star is the mozzarella sticks. I would come here only for the mozzarella sticks. They are spectacular. I'm not saying they are some cheese hand made nonsense. They are just perfectly fried deliciousness that got to our table hot!

These diners give you more than your moneys worth and really great food too! Came here twice for breakfast and couldn’t be happier as a tourist. Very friendly staff, decent price and food to fill you up for the day. Definitely will be on the lookout for these if I ever come back.

I was very disappointed in the food and service at Jim's. I live out of state and went to Jim's with a friend that is local in Austin and likes to eat at Jim's. We both had Senior entrees. His chicken breast looked very unappealing to me. The red sauce on my cheese enchiladas was not tasty at all. When we were finished and ready to go, we waited over 30 minutes for the waiter to bring the bill. I will not go to Jim's and cannot recommend. However, their breakfasts looked very appealing on the menu.

Amazing food. Great waitress. My wife, son and I ate there earlier this week. We expected a quality meal based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. All three of us got different menu items and all of us agreed this would be a restaurant we wanted to return to again and again. Looking forward to my next visit!

It's and Austin experience, it's good food fair price, nothing fancy. But it's for good folks and family and friends get together and have a meal and talk about things and just generally have a good time. If you're not looking for some fancy hoodie toity place then you found where you want to go. Good food fair price.
