I don't normally like to leave bad reviews but I think it's important to feel comfortable and safe where you go. I don't feel comfortable with a non-black DJ using the N-word so freely at a bar. People go out to have a good time, it is unnecessary and very disrespectful to enter a space that allows this to slide without any action taken. You can still have fun and pump an audience without using racial slurs. I hope this issue gets address among staff/management to ensure a more inclusive and comfortable experience for future customers.

So I went to this place four, yes four, nights in a row... It was two blocks from my hotel, and honestly I just wanted to not go far and be able to get a drink and decent food (it's Austin after all). First, get the Orange Brisket taco and stop asking so many questions. Get the dang thing and be happy. Happy hour regularly had $3 frozen margaritas. What are you complaining about? They've got some chef back there making this menu with love and attention. And the chefs that carry out this menu do so with fantastic consistency. I mean, I brought my Austin friends here ("Never heard of it...") And they were really impressed by the price, the service, and the quality. Get the tostadas (obviously), and if you're looking for some low-key vibes and good music, hang out here after dark. The crowd tends not to be too young (a good thing, let the early 20-somethings have the rest of 6th Street). It wasn't too crowded (weekday crowd was always chill). And the bar tenders there took care of me. Just overall a fantastic experience, from the food to the drinks to the service to the music. This is my new go-to spot if no one has a preference for what to do in Austin. Always had a good time, always got what I expected, and rarely walked out paying more than I planned. Place is a sleeper and I hope it sticks around and stays that way. TRY THE BRISKET TACOS GOSH DARNNIT.

Decided to go here with a few friends and was having a decent time until I heard the DJ say the N-word. I have never been so disgusted especially with Austin being known for their diversity. Instead of taking ownership and apologizing, he stated “I’m Puerto Rican”…..Unless I’m completely ignorant but last time I checked that does not mean your black. Escalated the issue at hand to upper management and nothing changed. 0/10. If you’re looking for a good time without feeling targeted by a whack DJ then look somewhere else. So hurt.

This venue has a racist DJ.. I was visiting out of town and enjoying 6th street with some friends and the DJ said a racial slur that ruined the vibe for the entire night. After speaking up the DJ did not apologize nor admit fault. This place is not black friendly. There are others places where you can spend your money.

We're told the drink specials were $X amount of dollars by doorman and bartender, then were charged 3 times that amount per drink. When we tried to ask the bartender what was up with that she suddenly became deaf. Fun spot to hangout, wouldn't reccomend spending money here.

Shoddy furniture, reasonable prices, dirty glasses. When I say dirty glasses, you can smell the last person’s spit on them. Wouldn’t trust food here. Cheers.

Y'all need to fix that 5-foot diameter, 10-foot deep hole. They have an excellent Butter Finger assortment.

Super cool little place, perfect for a quick drink and/or bite before a show at Comedy Mothership, which is right across the street. The atmosphere is funky/fun, and the service was friendly and attentive. Great fried pickles, and non-alcoholic beer!

Had a terrible experience trying to walk in on a Thursday around 2pm. The sign says it opened at 11am and we are visiting. The guy at the bar said “we are not open yet…that’s why the door was shut“ with an attitude. We said ok, the sign says you open at 11am and the door is unlocked. He then continued to be rude until we got rude back and left. Family from Texas went back to see what happened he was rude to them as well, said it was a different guy, threatened to call the police, and only stopped talking/being rude when one of us asked if it was because some of us are black. He had NO response.

Typical bar atmosphere but nice selection of unusual but delicious street tacos (along with other Mex stuff but I didn't look past the tacos) and craft beers. Tacos are a decent size and could have stopped at two -- Honey Jalapeno Fried Chicken and Baja (Fried Catfish) -- but had to try the Chipotle Orange Brisket which was probably my favorite. Pecan Porter was a nice complement to the tacos! Staff was very friendly. I would return.

I really nice space with decent food. My waitress was fast and super friendly. I ate inside but they have tables set up along the street if people-watching is your thing. After I ate I pulled out my laptop and hung out for a while. They have a few TVs behind the bar as well.

What a great place! If you're looking for someplace a little out-of-the-way, little out of the ordinary, this is what you want... Right here on 6th Street. For dinner, I had the avocado salad, and the chupacabra... Barbacoa taco with all the works. Absolutely outstanding!

The drinks were really tasty at the Chupacabra. I had the hibiscus margarita. I really enjoyed it. The bartenders were super nice and friendly too! Definitely has a cool atmosphere in here!

Great staff. Great room. Convenient to 6th street, Moody Amphitheater, and across from Stubbs. Stay here, you won't be disappointed.

Drinks were fine but let me put it this way: I had better Mexican in central Kentucky. The queso was Tostitos canned cheese, and the salad dressing was just Italian vinegarette not the cilantro lime they said it was.

They have a DJ at the end of the night who loves to throw around the N-word. I don’t condone anyone using that language especially those who aren’t black. The DJ claims he’s from PR, however being from a place with black people doesn’t give you the right to say it. This was brought up to upper management with no change in behavior or attitude. It’s 2022, let’s continue to learn from each other, when a specific group tells you it’s not okay then it’s not okay. Austin thrives on inclusivity and diversity but I fear this bar doesn’t honor that OR CARE.

I had a bad bartender having no patience taking order drinks from a friend of mine. She yelled at him and said a few things. I saw how her personality just switches to sweet, rude, ect… we thought it was bad service. Yeah we decided to tip zero. After that she gets mad another bartender try’s to defend her saying “we make a living out of tips” my friend decides to tip her $20. After that. We didn’t care as much. We still think it was bad service.. my friend just fell the pressure of having to tip her. All done and said.. I decided to leave a bad review. It probably won’t change anything but I am not coming here again.

This a cool place and they have live music inside. The place is really dirty though! We ordered from the bartender who was nice, but other than that there is no service. The tacos were OK, nothing to write home about.
