I
heard
about
this
place
from
a
coworker
when
I
was
in
town.
Being
a
BBQ
aficionado,
I
decided
to
give
it
a
try.
Service:
4/5
Even
though
it's
technically
counter
service,
I
was
not
given
a
cup
for
the
drink
I
ordered
so
I
had
to
go
back
up
to
the
line
to
get
a
cup
and
then
as
I
went
to
get
Tea,
the
tea
bins
were
empty.
Maybe
something
I
would
usually
let
slide
but
it
wasn't
particularly
busy
enough
when
I
went
in
my
opinion
for
the
lack
of
attention
to
detail.
Price:
I
feel
the
price
is
standard
for
barbecue
restaurants.
It
was
around
$22
for
me
but
that
was
with
two
sides,
a
dessert,
and
a
drink.
The
Sandwich
(Texas
Two
Step):
6/5
The
Texas
Two
Step
has
your
choice
of
meat,
and
then
tipped
with
bbq
sauce,
sausage,
pickles,
and
onions.
I
got
the
brisket
in
this
case.
I
rarely
give
anything
above
a
5,
but
this
was
honestly
one
of
the
best
sandwiches
I
have
had.
The
Brisket:
good
flavor
and
texture.
The
right
amount
of
salt.
Delicious.
The
Sausage:
really
good
flavor.
Now
I
know
why
it's
a
staple
on
this
sandwich
regardless
of
the
other
meat
choice.
BBQ
Sauces:
Gold
Rush-
this
sauce
was
boss.
Definitely
my
favorite
of
the
bunch.
Nice
flavor
profile
and
not
too
sweet
or
tangy.
Backyard
Red-
tangy
and
definitely
heavy
vinegar
base
than
the
others.
I
did
prefer
this
one
over
the
other
two
below.
Spicy-
felt
more
of
a
tomato
sauce
puree.
Mildly
spicy
but
had
an
unfamiliar,
and
in
my
opinion
not
pleasant
taste
to
it.
Dank
White-
subtle
and
light.
Lacked
flavor
for
me.
So
why
did
I
give
them
a
4
even
with
an
outstanding
sandwich?
The
sides
were
a
huge
miss
for
me.
Potato
Salad:
while
the
potatoes
were
fresh,
this
felt
more
like
a
potato
salad
you
would
get
from
a
restaurant
with
a
completely
different
menu.
Not
your
grandmother's
potato
salad.
For
me
it
did
not
have
cohesion
with
the
rest
of
the
BBQ
and
felt
out
of
place.
Baked
Beans:
this
one
was
puzzling.
It
lacked
identity
for
me.
The
flavor
was
decent,
and
definitely
on
the
sweeter
side,
but
it
was
the
texture
that
was
a
miss
for
me.
The
beans
felt
like
they
wanted
to
be
halfway
between
mashed
BBQ
beans
and
refried
beans.
The
taste
leaned
more
to
a
chopped
BBQ
or
sloppy
joe
flavor
profile
than
other
BBQ
beans
for
me.
Banana
Pudding:
I
had
high
hopes
with
this
one
with
the
custom
cookie
inside,
but
the
cookie
was
bland
and
I
felt
like
it
was
setting
a
bad
tone
for
the
rest
of
the
banana
pudding.
Thankfully
though,
the
banana
pudding
actually
held
up
and
was
a
nice
compliment
to
the
meal
and
a
worthy
banana
budding
outside
of
the
cookie
on
top.
I
don't
think
it
makes
my
top
10
list
for
banana
pudding,
but
worth
a
try.
