First time trying the Austin original Torchy’s. We avoided the most touristy location and went for this one in the downtown business district. First off, we love the vibe. Bar area is huge. I’d love to come back in the evening and hang out for a bit. Seating area feels open and welcoming. I like the outdoor seating area, which is super pleasant here at the end of March. The menu is easy to decipher but hard to decide between. Between the 5 of us, we sampled a number of the tacos, 9 in total: Republican, Democrat, Trailer Park regular & “trashy”, Beef Fajita, Green Chile Pork, Crossroad & Tipsy Chick. What was our favorite? Hard to tell. Loved them all. The Republican & Democrat stood out though. We also had chips with the green chile queso. Excellent dipping sauce. Needed a few more chips though. I highly recommend Torchy’s. They’re high-end tacos, price-wise, but you can easily share 3 or 4 between two people, unless you are a big eater.

It was clean, quick to order, modern look but great food. The food had enough seasoning and spice and they had coke zero. I ordered the guacamole especially to add to my steak fajita taco. Staff were quick to bring the food, clean up and were very polite.

Wow. I mean WOW! These tacos are fun and creative. They have some really good sauces that spice them up. The Trailer Park Taco, was amazing! I had to “get it trashy.” The margaritas were amazing! And the bartenders were fun and lively which really helped make for a good environment! I’ll certainly be back!

I was in town for four nights and ate here for dinner twice (it was that good!). This was a suggestion from a good friend that lived in Austin for a number of years, and I'm glad I followed his recommendation. The tacos (particularly the Crossroads taco) are delicious. You won't go wrong eating here.

Mmm, Torchy’s I tried their tacos, the only one burrito and salad Good quality and nice prices I could recommend airstream salad delicious! The grande burrito is also tasty Also they have loyalty program in the app. So I had complimentary taco ones, it was good Sometimes I take burritos to go and they stay “alive” for few hours ok, without getting mushy It’s a good quality Thank you

We came here for lunch and sat at the bar. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. The trashy version of the trailer park and the democrqt were our favorites, but the pork carniatas were also very good. The queso dip came highly recommended from multiple locals and also didn't disappoint. Would also highly recommend the lil nookies as a desert. They were highly addictive and even after eating all the other food we ordered seconds of them and also the trashy trailer park taco.

The fanciest Torchy's in town. It has a great ambiance. The service was a bit slow given the single bartender had to serve so many people at a time. Other than that, it's a great place to check out.

Tacos were great but had issues the two times we went on vacation--a taco on the wrong tortilla (which still tastes great but was incorrect) and I ordered 2 tacos but one was forgotten from my order which I didn't noticed until it was served. That being said, the food all tasted amazing and I would recommend to anyone. A few ice tea/lemonade options and also a full bar available. Seating is both indoor and outdoor and your food will be brought to you wherever you're sitting. The Baja shrimp tacos were my favorite on this trip to Texas!

Absolutely AMAZING! Just got off of our flight and we are visiting Austin for the day, so we were trying to find a place to eat. Torchy’s was so good!! The tacos were fantastic, and the queso was exquisite. The atmosphere is great, I loved the air conditioning and soda fountain. I got the Trailer Park and Democrat tacos, and both were great!! We also had the “Lil Nookies” which were so so good. If I’m in Austin again I’ll come back. Definitely get two tacos, just one does not fill you up, and there are so many options. The food comes out so fast and the servers were so kind. Totally recommend!!

I was starving when I went in but I sat at the bar and ordered an old fashioned. If you don't know, because I didn't l, they have a full bar. The drink was strong and low priced for Makers Mark and a good strong drink. I was having such a good time talking with the bar tender and other guests, no pictures. The food was good, the people were the best and the service was great. Definitely going to go back hopefully during this stay. I want to add that growing up in Southern California I have high taco standards and these are good but not great. The entire place however is great

Delish but spicy! Everything tasted lovely and the flavors of the airstream salad were on point. But everything we ordered was pretty spicy, to the point that I only ate about half, so know that going in :)

The tacos are what you expect. They are fresh, taste good and has a nice bar vibe to it. Grab a taco and beer and you don’t be disappointed. The line gets long at lunch which is something to avoid. It’s served by Raza but it has a hipster vibe to it.

Loved the tacos from the secret menu. The matador is my favorite taco here. Had so much flavor. Sangria was good too.

In Austin for work and someone recommended Torchys. We enjoyed the food and had fun. The tacos were fun, we loved the nookie for dessert, and the queso was way different that I've had. Almost the texture of hummus? Very fun!

Popped in for a quick drink and snack. The bartender was warm and welcoming. We got some margaritas and they recommended the queso. The drinks were delicious and the queso definitely impressed. We couldn’t stop eating it. Just the perfect amount of heat and super cheesy. Definitely freshly made. Have to come back to try the tacos.

September 2023: I only went in here to take a break fro the heat and sit at the bar. This place is a bit fancier than the Torchy's Tacos in my neighborhood but still the same menu. I ordered a Sucker Punch where did not want to order a frozen margarita where coming from the heat outside did not want to experience another massive brain freeze. The bartender was great and made me feel at home. My drink was very refreshing and tasted excellent. I noticed the restrooms needed a code to enter where I just returned to my hotel which was nearby.

Another highly recommend spot in Austin that’s great! The queso was definitely the highlight of the meal. This is more of a fast food spot with a wider selection of options to choose from. Came close to closing and the food came out fairly quick. Would recommend if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat.

Overall good tacos. The shrimp tacos were superior they give you many shrimp and you can basically customize it how ever you like. The chicken taco - trailer park trash was not my favorite. Drinks were very good and the staff moved quickly to get people their food which I appreciate. It was easy to find seating and they had very good margaritas.

Stunning Chile queso dip. I read all the reviews and heard all the hype. But nothing prepared me for this rich gooey deliciousness. It was honestly inspiring. The tacos were fine. Solid. Not mind-blowing, but quite good. But it’s the queso that will have me returning time and time again. My goodness, so yummy. Oh and that Paloma with the Tajin on the rim? Stunning. Cute atmosphere, especially by the bar. Incredibly friendly service too.
