As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted with a cozy environment. The restaurant has an interesting history. They offer nice deals for kids AND seniors. The coffee is fresh and wonderful and the food beautiful, fresh, and tastes amazing.

Their food is just as good as the other Jim's on the other side of Research Blvd. However, they are soooooo slow due to the shortness of staffs and mountains of takeout orders. They are friendly though.

Pretty decent breakfast. Went about 10a on a Saturday and was really busy. Food was server hot even though we were in a large group of 8 people. Enjoyed the fresh fruit, a lot of times you eat fruit at a restaurant and it is not that fresh, but this was good. Enjoyed the poached eggs, but the ham and bacon were not that great. I would go back again for breakfast.

Came here for lunch after getting off work early. I'm lucky that I live near by that I can walk here :) My server was great and the food was delicious and fresh! I had the Club sandwich with french fries and Raspberry Iced Sweet Tea. Definitely check this place out if you like old school diner style! They have a huge menu to choose from. Even got a to-go cup!

Great service and outstanding food‼ Arrived about 9am on a Saturday morning and waiting approximately 5 minutes. Server was prompt and pleasant. Would certainly recommend for anyone looking for homestyle food.

Don't think you can't eat clean at Jim's. The answer is that you can. And you can enjoy it. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get something lite and still so yummy. I loved it as usual. But this time it was lunch time and it had to be something quick. No problem for the great staff at Jim's. They can't do enough to make one feel good about coming in for a meal. Can't say enough about the excellent customer service and the meal. Do yourself a favor and try it.

Service is usually great. Food is quality rated by me. Can't say the same for the cooks, (except for Benito). He knows what he's doing in the kitchen. The rest need thorough schooling in the culinary department. Sad but true. 99.99 % of wait staff are outstanding. Keith, (one of the Managers-daytime) is a jewel.

Don't come here very often but when I do it's always great. Came today for steak and egg and some grits. Absolutely amazing. Not a lot of places can get a rare steak correct, but forget about it, it was cooked to perfection. Our server Cherie was amazing she was very attentive and made our morning amazing. Thanks to all that work there. We will be back.

Jim’s is always an all star experience. Whether it is breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Jim’s hits the spot every time. We’ve enjoyed their breakfast, omelettes and pancakes for years and years now. Their lunch menu occasionally carries seasonal items and their dinner menu, includes got some pretty good steaks and chops on it. For dessert, we never look any further than the strawberry pie. It is just absolutely delicious and made with spread strawberries. Who doesn’t love that? We’ve been fans for over 40 years now, and will continue on as long as Jim can feed us.

Had grilled pork chops covered with onions & mushrooms, eggs over easy and extra crispy hash browns for breakfast with hot tea. It was VERY GOOD, served quickly by a friendly attentive server. Jims is a good place to go any time of day.

Food was great! I love all-day breakfast and got the Texas omelet with hash browns & biscuits - yum! Service is okay but not great. Had to wait to be seated due to the lack of wait staff, as there were plenty of open tables. It took a while before we were eventually served our food, but once seated we were given menus, then drinks, then order taken - so you felt like you were making progress.

They make the best chicken salad hands down. There breakfast is always top notch. The prices are beyond reasonable. The waitresses and waiters here are very friendly and could compete and win against any 5 star expensive restaurant.

Food was a good 4 star quality but the restaurant is so dirty and un-maintained, it completely ruined the dining experience. The ceiling tiles are disgusting (yet would be cheap to repair). The ceiling fans had a carpet-thick layer of dust…. It makes you wonder if the owners don’t care enough about these things, what else are they not cleaning in the kitchen where the food is prepared?

Had a very good dinner. The hamburger steak with mashed potatoes was perfect. Good service and a clean restaurant

Absolutely horrible! Waitress never came back to check on us after bringing the food. She was too occupied with her personal issues. Never refilled drinks, my shrimp was raw on the inside. She never even brought the check we had to go to the register to get it. And then comes the gnats..... Only eat here if you plan on getting bothered and sharing your food with gnats. So gross! Health department needs to shut them down. I definitely will not be back.

Jim’s breakfasts are like going home for a delicious and satisfying family meal. Their servers (especially Tammy) are friendly and expedient. The board of fare is consistently superb; you can taste the actual ingredients (flour, sugar, butter). No political correctness here; just quality that only Texans can deliver!

My wife and I had breakfast at Jim’s on Friday December 16th. Our waiter was named Bobby. The experience was very good. Bobby had a system of taking the order that was organized and efficient. His attitude was positive and friendly. The food arrived quickly and was exactly as we ordered it. Hot and tasty. Bobby’s service was exemplary. His revisits to the table were few and finely timed. He didn’t bug us to death and he appeared at the exact time we needed a refill of coffee. The only thing negative I can say about the dining experience is that the coffee was very weak. Maybe I just like strong coffee but it was not to my liking. I can summarize the experience by saying the when you order a meal at Jim’s you get exactly what you ordered, it’s delivered quickly, it’s very good, and it’s delivered with a smile. What more could you ask?

What's not to like about Jim's!!! The food is very good with good size portions, the wait staff is attentive and personable, and they have kept their prices within very reasonable means for their patrons. Closest thing to a real diner in Austin. Thank you, Jim's!

We walked in 25 min before closing. Was not aware of new hours (6am - 8pm). Waitress was super friendly, very funny. Prompt service. Only went in for.pie and coffee, the lemon meringue pie was very good! Coffee tasted fresh made. Excellent place!

Good service and good food but holy Batman it was so hot in there. I don’t know if they had the a/c on at all. It’s 97 degrees outside today and when we left the restaurant walking out to the car felt cooler and like a relief. I still insisted on having my coffee with my food though because I love the coffee they always have at Jim’s. Hopefully it’s DeCoty coffee at all locations from San Angelo. Anyway my kid loved it. So 4 stars. Minus one for the a/c situation.

Jim’s a small down to earth local experience, unlike the hustle of other places. When you come here it’s definitely a slow down and enjoy life atmosphere with good food and a friendly staff.

Foods are good, staffs are nice. I would like to give 5 stars, but there are just not enough people. There are lots of empty tables but people still have to wait over 15 minutes to be seated. Please hire more people and I will give you 5 stars.

Jim's Restaurants have been a Texas staple for home cooked American style food for almost 50 years. The staff and management of every location are friendly and caring. The very ideal of the founders of Jim's is still carried out this very day. We have always been pleased with everything on the menu. All meals are prepared fresh upon order. Service is outstanding. The taste is heavenly. Jim's was the first restaurant we had our very first Texas meal in on the day we moved to Austin. We were treated with the same love and care that we received at lunch today over 6 months later. Come enjoy real honest Texas hospitality and a warm howdy every time you walk through the door. Anywhere we travel. We always know we are home in Texas when we walk into any of the Jim's Restaurants locations. Bring your appetite and your family. It's always super time at Jim's place.

They are struggling with staffing, but even with just 1 waitress working up to 10 tables, we were communicated well with, and told it would take a bit to take our order. We understood. Once we places our order, our food came out within 15 mins as ordered, and delicious as I always come to expect with their omelets. I hope they find staff and get back to full function as it's a diner we like to visit from time to time with family and friends.
