Beautiful space and with scheduled ticket times it’s actually BETTER with the process of pacing and spacing that has developed from pandemic constraints. You’ll learn about LBJ *and* Lady Bird. There was a temporary exhibit upstairs as well, featuring Mohammad Ali. I’d probably suggest you give yourself 90 minutes and my thinking is that children under 8 or 9 might not find enough engaging materials... but !hey! treat yourself to a date with your partner, gather some friends and make it part of a cultural/history exploration day, or for my true Presidential Library Fans... go alone! A few interesting products in the gift shop...

This was a great stop while in Austin. Way better than I ever expected. There was so much I didn’t know about LBJ. We were there about 90 minutes and I bet I could go back another three hours and still not even see everything. If you like history this is a must stop.

Ode to LBJ Presidential Library: In Austin's embrace, a museum grand, The LBJ Library, a journey unplanned. An intro movie, a captivating show, A must-see tale that sets the tone just so. Mechanical LBJ, with jokes that'll amuse, Bringing laughter, dispelling the blues. Taped conversations, MLK's righteous call, And Marshall's wisdom, echoing in the hall. Special exhibits, a treasure trove untold, Lady Bird's story, a legacy of gold. The Lorax speaks, environmental plight, And signatures of presidents, a history's light. The museum portrays LBJ's reign, Domestic triumphs and Vietnam's pain. A replica Oval Office, where power resounds, Gifts bestowed upon them, true treasures abound. Free parking awaits, by UT's campus so near, A gem to explore, worth the small cost no fear. Step forth, for it's worth every cent, Admission to LBJ's world, a journey well-spent. Yet if free is your wish, mark dates on your quest, On Fourth of July or Lyndon's birth, you're their guest. If your first name is Lyndon, rejoice in your fate, Free entry bestowed, an honor innate. Explore the museum, embrace history's lore, Immerse in its treasures, from ceiling to floor. Don't miss this marvel, a museum sublime, LBJ's spirit, echoing through time. A tapestry woven, a chapter of lore, The LBJ Library, an experience to adore.

Very impressed. The Lady Bird section was wonderful, did not know she funded his first campaigns and took over his congressional office when he was serving overseas, or that she was a journalist who bought a radio station, or all her contributions including towards Head Start. He was ok too. The display on Gulf of Tonkin was incomplete, at best. But his accomplishments are many, from Civil Rights to Medicare and Medicaid. Also, the pop culture references were fun. Highly recommend if you find presidential and American history interesting.

I went on Juneteenth holiday so entry was free but I think it is normally 13 bucks. Should take around 75-120 minutes to go through the museum and gift shop. LBJ is one of my favorite presidents and we had a lot of fun visiting.

Very enjoyable afternoon learning about LBJ and Lady Bird. It was nice to spend an afternoon in the air conditioning rather than out in the heat of the day. I wish they would have had easier access to bathroom, had to trek my little one up and down the stairs three times. Highly recommend. Also we just happened to go on a Tuesday and got 50% off admission.

I'm a big fan of museums. I'm also working to visit all of the Presidential Museums. So, of course I stopped by the LBJ Presidential Library before heading home to Colorado after working in Austin for a few days. Parking was a bit confusing and I don't know if I was supposed to pay or not. But, I parked out front and had no issues. Didn't pay and still don't know of that's correct. The admission is $13, but you need to purchase online in advance. I showed up without a ticket and was turned away at the door. It wasn't a busy place so I was able to log in on my phone and easily get a ticket. The building outside is depressing and boring. Inside is fairly basic, but is a fitting and solid tribute to the President. A guide greeted me right after I walked in. She us a pleasant, smiling promoter of the museum and all things President Johnson. Very knowledgeable and kind. She offered to take several pictures and told me stories as I walked around. Left me to myself after awhile, but was a positive impression and her kindness is appreciated. I love to see the Oval Office, the history behind our presidents, and all of the challenges the world presented at the time. Overall a good presidntial museum, a pleasant tour, and fun visit for me. There's a decent, but small gift shop as you leave.

As a museum lover, I truly enjoyed the LBJ Presidential Library. The exhibits and tributes to Lady Bird with the walk through the times of LBJ, it was all very well put together. The building itself is massive when you walk up to it and is a grand sight. I recommend this experience while in Austin.

A fitting and beautiful tribute to LBJ. Situated nicely on the campus of UT, parking is easy to find, and admission is affordable. Experience the highs and lows of LBJ's Presidency, life in politics, and personal life. Truly worth your time.

What a great presidential library. I wasn't very familiar with LBJ and a visit here changed all of that. I purchased tickets for 10:00am and we got there a few minutes after that but didn't have any issues. My wife had her bag scanned and then we were off to explore. One minor complaint. Due to Covid we were limited to one hour, 45 minutes in the library and all theaters in the library are closed off to the public. Despite that, the rest of the library and the exhibits make up for it. The Ladybird Johnson exhibit was a great addition and honestly, a great start to the library. I didn't realize LBJ had such a big impact on this nation. I'm now a fan!

My first presidential library experience. I had no idea LBJ was such a force of nature. The layout on the fourth floor could have better flow but overall it was very educational, entertaining and well curated.

Est. 1971 Layout/atmosphere *Essentially three floors that are open to the public (third/lobby, fourth & tenth) *The bottom floor features a replica of Johnson’s limousine, a timeline and a small theater with a 12-minute video on repeat *The top/tenth floor has all the gifts from other heads of states, a recreation of LBJ’s Oval Office and the office Lady Bird maintained at the library up until the last few years of her life *Bonus features - opportunity to listen to some of the telephone recordings in the White House during Johnson’s time as president

If you are in Austin, this is one landmark you should not miss...whether or not you were a fan of LBJ, you will be impressed by the legislation that was passed during his term as President. Unlike most other Presidents, he was able to work across the aisle so that Republicans and Democrats could agree on laws that would make life better for Americans.

Pretty cool with a bunch of exhibitions, recommend giving it at least a two-hour stay since there’s quite a lot of things to be seen. Great to learn about a Texan president and his wife, and their journey that most people may not know since LBJ ain’t one of your household name presidents.

An interesting museum depicting the life and history of President LBJ, with a replica of his Oval office and archives of all documents relating to his presidential period.

This museum is honestly EXCELLENT. I just cannot recommend it enough, my husband and I visited during mid-August and found it utterly interesting and informative. There are some brilliant staff members who are able to provide lots of information and detail. As Brits, we aren’t particularly clued-up on US political history, so when arriving in Austin we wanted to soak-up some of it (although we came to the city for music!) and weren’t disappointed. I highly recommend this museum - but can’t imagine it would be of much interest to children.

What an amazing tour, it's truly a time machine into the past. Having only been a child during his Presidency, the Library shed a lot of light into Johnson's work and dedication. While it's a bit dated, and should be, it's very informative along with a very well kept animatronic LBJ. The staff is very kind, exceedingly helpful making the tour even more delightful. Highly recommend a look if one is in Austin Texas.

This museum was my whole reason for the drive to Austin, and was 100% worth the trip. I watched the intro video and then a volunteer explained the layout. Place had a few visitors while I was there but wasn't uncomfortably packed. there was a temporary exhibit on Lady Bird which was a pleasant surprise and an interesting explanation of her life as well as a few of the dresses she wore. The LBJ museum part was incredible. I was in shock when I came around the stairs and saw the windows tot he majority of the archies visible. As the entirety of his presidency was prior to my life it was a fascinating part of history to get to see. 10/10 would visit again.

Better than I expected, honestly. Not sure what I was anticipating - I love history and museums but didn't think this would be quite as thorough as it is. Very nice library and well taken care of. I appreciate that my kids were free!

Museum offers an interesting and detailed insight into one of America's most fascinating eras, through the story of Johnson's way to the White House. Loved the Lady Bird exhibition too. Highly recommended. Spent a total of 1.5 - 2 hours. On Tuesdays tickets are half off!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I have been waiting for years to visit, and it was worth the wait. As a student of history and politics, LBJ has always fascinated me. I was impressed with the museum, and I highly recommend it to others. If I never have the chance to visit again, this one chance will last forever.

Excellent presidential library! Both LBJ and Lady Bird did so much for the country, this is a great set of exhibitions that outline their lives and accomplishments. I love how much it is about both of them.

What a wonderful place, learned so much about that period of US history and LBJ and his wife’s accomplishments, which took place before I was born. Really enjoyed my visit.
