I love Stevie Ray Vaughn and the spectacular music he left us. If you’re ever in Austin, I highly recommend taking a short walk to see his awesome Memorial Statue, because it is a really nice piece of art and stands tall just as he did when he was alive. I will always miss seeing him perform as he always seemed to take the crowd to another level and away from the daily grind as I always seek to do when I am on stage. The park is wide open and people are always having good times here. I do hope live music comes back to this park/venue, we need it and Stevie Ray Vaughn would want for everyone to Support Live Music!!!!

Very nice statue tribute to the great blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan. It's a shame that the memorial plaque only says musician. It should say, " Texas Blues Legend, musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Best known as a great blues guitarist, and frontman of the blues rock band Double Trouble". Plus, why is the plaque on the stone wall behind the statute and not at the base of the statue? If you walk by you cannot see the plaque unless you stand directly behind the statue and face the Colorado River.

SRV, I saw you in 1987 with Gregg Allman opening for you at Pine Knob in Michigan. I was so close I could see the settings on your amps. You changed how I thought of music during that show and have had a profound effect on me ever since. You are missed. Thank you.

As a huge SRV fan this statue is an important tribute to one of the best Texas blues guitarists. While approaching the statue I was playing β€œTexas Flood” and it started to rain. How fitting. We miss you Stevie.

The Stevie Ray Vaughan Memorial statue is located on the shores of Lady Bird Lake a few hundred feet west of the S 1st Street bridge. You'll see is a bronze statue of the late Texas guitarist in a standing, reflective pose. He is in hat, poncho and boots, balancing his guitar with left hand on the ground. Check out the bronze shadow behind him depicting him in a different pose, playing his guitar. This is a fine monument well placed on the lake shore with the Austin skyline in the background, something nice to find if you are a fan of Stevie Ray Vaughan's music or simply passing by while taking in the lakeside trail.

I enjoyed seeing this statue, but wouldn't suggest seeking it out unless you are a solid Stevie Ray Vaughan fan. Greetings from Austin, Texas, USA

I went for a jog after I got done with a class not knowing that there was going to be fireworks and it was pretty awesome while the events were going on.

Wonderful statue of an influential Texas musician lost too soon. The setting near the river in a popular park is great and easy to find. The statue itself is well done and includes a cool shadow on the ground.

Parking is limited and you have to walk a little ways, but totally worth it if you’re a Stevie Ray Vaughan

One of my favorite musicians of all time! Such an honor to visit, it was very serene visiting in the middle of the night, but no one was around & the weather was nice

My favorite guitarist. Tragic end, but this statue pays him the reverence he deserves.

It was dark. I was taking picture when this guy startled me. Turns out, he’s a statue and I jumped at my own shadow.

This Amazing Masterpiece is on the Ladybird Trail Downtown. The trail is one of the most amazing aspects of The Downtown area. The walk is long & very beautiful all times of the year. Of course: when it is hot like the summer's tend to be....I personally can't enjoy the walk as I'd like to. Blood pressure, & extream heat...I could pass out, or Nose bleeds that are unnatural....for me.

If you're a fan of SRV, you have to see this statue. Right on the shore line with a nice backdrop of the city. I loved the shadow that was part of the statue.
