Pros - The actual track is amazing,. The main entrance is beautiful and for F1 weekend there were plenty of Porta potties and the main restroom was wonderfully air-conditioned with very organized attendants. The race itself on Sunday was spectacular and the events all weekend were fun entertainment. Cons - parking, getting in and out was awful. Hour and 22 minutes to park and 3 hours to get out from Lot F on Sunday race day. Traffic controllers were awful. Food selection while good, lines were so long to get anything to eat or drink, sometimes an hour wait and there were no water bottles to be bought by noon on Sunday. We saw plenty of space where additional food stands or even food trucks could be, to alleviate the long lines and time spent waiting!!! Same with particular merchandise...cleared out by Saturday which was extremely disappointing. Sign posting and lighting inside the track needs improvement and especially for people that are coming in for the first time. Organizers need to go back to the drawing board! The large crowds were expected as seen in ticket sales therefore a much better action plan should have been executed. Just hoping Miami goes a little smoother!

Such a cool racing track! You have an amazing view from whatever corner you’re sitting at. And of course you can never go wrong with F1 races here in Austin! Amazing crowds make the experience much more fun. Lots of food vendor options and activities for people of all ages. They also have an observation deck with views of the track.

Excellent venue for a rare opportunity to ride your bike on an actual Formula One race track. The first hill is a challenge but there are shortcuts for those who can do without. Stay around for the party afterwards. On location bike repair available.

The track itself is nice. Makes for some good racing. I went during the F1 weekend and camped in lot N. They price gouge for everything. Food is 4x normal price, souvenirs are double what you get them for on the official website, and you can't bring anything in from outside. If you come general admission (grass seating only) is oversold these days and it makes for a packed experience. But it's still a great weekend of racing. Lot N camping is very noisy, 1/2 the people run open frame generators all night, there is no enforcement of noise rules at all. Overall. The place is well managed, good directions around, tons of food stands, bathrooms, etc for the crowd size. Come to races very early to get good seats, expect to spend a ton, and have a good time. If they either allowed outside food/drinks or made the prices reasonable, it would be 4 star. 5 star would need to enforce some sort of noise rules or get a bit more space for people. Compared to other tracks I've been to, this is the best track, but not the greatest experience.

Awesome venue for racing! Prepare to do a lot of walking as the track is huge, but lots of well spaced amenities during major events. Main grandstand tickets are well worth it when the temperature gets hot as there is almost no shade around the entire track. Most importantly, there are great views of the racing action throughout the venue!

AMAZING! I am so happy we can watch the Formula One racers so close to home. Facilities were awesome. Restrooms were clean and stocked quickly. It was nice that there were so many water refill stations. Amazing experience and I can't wait to be back next year!

You want me to come back? Don't try to make all your yearly income in one weekend. $20 for a subpar ("premium"?) can of beer flavored water. Over $30 for a plate of food. The race track layout is good. Resurface it! As F1 drivers were asking for years. Run shuttle to ALL parking lots you charge obnoxious fees for, I'm not here for a hiking trip. You were so not ready for the hot weather weekend, I saw people fading in the line for food, multiple people. Some umbrellas maybe? I'm not asking for cooling fog stations. Still wondering why attendance is dropping for your biggest event of the year?

My first in person F1 event and it was everything that I expected. It was so much fun and the cars were amazing to watch. Festival like atmosphere and everyone was so friendly. Plenty of food choices and lots of rest rooms. The only downside is if you park in Lot R be prepared to walk a lot. We had 20,000 steps round trip each day from our car to Section 9. Shuttle service is non-existent from our to Lot R. Shuttle service in general is very lacking for a event like this. I give it 5 Stars for the event and 1 Star for the parking.

Was a bit of a mess during F1 weekend especially with so many people there. They definitely need to work on transportation for getting fans in and out. I was able to catch the bus back to Lot Q before they stopped the buses but others were stuck walking ~3 miles on foot back to their car.

The electric expo event here was so much fun and organized well. Unfortunately there was a Tesla driver early on Sunday who ruined it for the rest of us and crashed, so we were maxed at 55 mph, but still got to drive on the track which was an incredible experience by itself! Not to mention the Ford drifting demo, my driver Notorious Nick was insane and awesome! I had a great time and got some cool swag but it's kind of like going to an amusement park. You wait in line 30-1hr but you don't get to ride the roller coaster, you're just driving a car down the street πŸ˜‚ That said, I did get to drive a Porsche, Tesla and BMW (the BMW on the Cota track, the others were on the city street) along with the Ford drifting demo and that took almost all of 5 hrs, but it's definitely recommended if you're interested in all things electric.

Just finished a fantastic F1 weekend. Loved the track. You can see why it’s a favorite among drivers! With 440,000 people in attendance for the big race, it’s understandable there will be challenges. A couple of suggestions for improvement: more water stations and better loudspeaker/video coverage. With hot weather, people shouldn’t be forced to purchase expensive water to stay hydrated. Water stations were few, difficult to find and frequently had long lineups. Race audio/video coverage in some areas were completely missing. I needed to bring my own radio coverage solution on subsequent days. Overall positive experience though. Any race fan’s treat for sure

Peppermint parkway is by far one of the best light shows you can attend during Christmas in Austin! The drive is convenient for those with Children that want to stay out of the cold or to avoid winter weather and it's a beautiful drive! Millions of lights and a great selection of displays. For those that want to visit the village it's packed with fun activities, rides and delicious holiday food and drink options. Fun and convenient for the whole family!

What a great venue. First Formula 1 race couldn't have gone better. Well done COTA. If you plan on attending I highly suggest you get parking down in Lot A. Otherwise it's a mile hike from the top of the hill at Lot T.

Fantastic Formula 1 race experience. I chose the Lot Q "Park N Ride" and it was fantastic, dropping you off right at the gates of turn 11. Food options were galore, with probably hundreds of vendors - however beware, food and drink prices are absolutely insane ($5 water, $15 beer, $15 slice of pizza, most meals were around $18). They are pretty lax with their bag policy, you can easily bring in your own water, beer, and even snacks if they are somewhat concealed in a backpack. Would highly utilize the use of the tram that runs around the outer service road dropping you off at most of the turns around the track - one strange thing about the tram is that you have to leave the gates to get to the tram, and then must reenter the track at your destination. Water stations were galore around the track for you to be able to refill your water bottle. Port-a-potty "cities" were located at nearly every turn with never a wait and usually very clean. Trash and recycle cans were literally within eye sight all around the track, so for the most part everything was very clean and free of trash. My only complain would be they needed more directions for things posted, yes there were plenty of maps, but sometimes when you got to a fork in the path you wouldn't know exactly which way to go. Lastly, about 80% of the walking paths weren't paved and were either gravel or grass, this was fine for the most part, however if you were ever here in the rain it would be an absolute mess. Great work COTA, can't wait to come back next year!

Some things great, some good and some poor. The racing view from Turn 1 is very nice, you can see multiple sections of the track so you can follow along with the action. The speakers and TV view at Turn 1 are pure sh!t. Can't hear a thing and TV is way too small. F1 Experiences is garbage. The packages and tours are a waste of your time. Food is average concession food for a large event like this. Wildly overpriced. $54 for some garbage pizza pie, $20 burgers, etc etc. In and out by the Uber shuttle sucked. The downtown shuttle lines moved quickly and were pretty good on race day. Free practice and qualifying were not worth the effort going to the track. Better to just go for Sunday race. They needed much better supporting races and music. Overall fun, but unlikely I will return.

I came to COTA for my first motoGP race and it was an amazing experience! The parking was a little walk since I opted for the inexpensive lot but once inside the venue there were so many things to see and do. The seats were perfect for watching the finals race. I definitely plan to come again for the next MotoGP race.

I'm always amazed how well organized COTA handles these big events. F1 is one of our favorite activities of the year and every part of the facility is managed, clean, taken care of, and organized. The workers were friendly given the crowds and heat. Can't wait for next year!

When I post this and say that it was free that's because I was a team member visiting the track. It was an excellent experience. I have been before with NASCAR teams but this is my first trans-am event which I thoroughly enjoyed. With one notable exception, who shall remain nameless I found the track staff to be ready, courteous and helpful. They were in the process of putting up the Christmas light display and from what I saw it will be truly amazing. Although I did not have a chance to enjoy it first hand.

I have gone to F1 since they opened the track in 2012. This was the hottest weekend by far. They were not ready for this. There weren't enough shaded areas, and people were passing out by heat exhaustion. The food options are good, and the prices are what you would expect at an event like this. We purchased a parking pass when we purchased our tickets, highly recommended. Also, I would suggest booking your hotel immediately as hotels book up quickly. I LOVE Formula 1.. I loved seeing Qween with Adam Lambert. It was a GREAT concert.

Not sure if it counts but we joined X-mas fair (aka Peppermint Parkway) which was big fun, especially recommend for families. Kids would love it. There are limited yet good rides. I sure will come for the races but for now, it is what it is.

It was an incredible experience to visit this track for F1. There is so many things to do at the venue but be ready to walk very far. Probably, bring an umbrella, as there is little shade available, especially at your seats and during lunch. We'll worth the $$$

Great racing! But I really thought the logistics of getting in and out of the parking lot would have been hashed out by now. Definitely need some more pedestrian walkways from the track to the lot to avoid all the traffic. Plus more seat ushers are needed in the Grandstands. Too many people with out tickets crowding the area for people with tickets.

Came for the Formula 1 Grand Prix and definitely had lessons learned. The track is modern and great to roam around. Try to enter via the main gate and use the buses to save on parking costs unless you’re doing the VIP style to be up close. The golf carts are independent contractors so they’ll charge you money to go to the front. The tram is an unorganized mess not worth using. Just make sure to plan ahead and do research to make things easier.

We saw Tenacious D and had a phenomenal time! I wish they had healthier food options, but that's what you get at a concert venue πŸ˜‚ hoping for too much. Parking isnt a problem. Leaving is because there is only one way out and one road out so it takes forever. People start heading out of the concert early to avoid the madness.
