He was one of the main figures of outlaw country, a subgenre of country music that developed in the late 1960s as a reaction to the conservative restrictions of the Nashville sound. Nelson has acted in over 30 films, co-authored several books, and has been involved in activism for the use of biofuelsand the legalization of marijuana.

We went to see Wilkie Nelson in concert there and it was my first trip to Austin TX. I loved It. Great Town, and Great Atmosphere. We had loads of fun. The Statue looks just like him .

I found the Austin city lights event center to be a wonderful place many many pictures inside famous musicians and whatnot

So cool that Austin celebrates Willie with his own statute. It's close to the park by Austin City Limits. Worth the short walk.

Caught a fleeting glimpse. It’s Willie Nelson for gosh sakes! If you need a google review for him… Stay away from that sacred statue!!!!

I am one of Willies biggest fans!!! I was not going to miss the opportunity to have my photo taken with the huge bronze statue! Must see photo opp if you near by.

Willie Nelson is one of my most favorite people in the whole wide world, took me in as a daughter, taught me how to drive in a big city, just like a dad.
