You have to make reservations over the phone at least one week ahead. Thet do not have tours every day. They will send you an email with instructions. You have to be punctual as the tour only lasts around 20 minutes. Very nice tour with friendly staff. They will let you in most of the rooms on the first floor but the second floor is off limits. Best of all, it's free.

19 dead children because one man that can't even stand up for himself decided to vote against requiring background checks. What a spineless money pit of despair this man is.

Amazing! Sofas made entirely out of authentic orphan skin, glassware hand-crafted by Taiwanese immigrants. 10/10 would love to send my son here for summer camp

The State of Texas - where the RIGHT TO LIFE shall be enforced. Until birth, then the RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS is of greater importance

Great that the public is able to tour. Lasted only 20 minutes. Tour encompasses only the first 4 front rooms of the first level of the house. We could tell our guide was passionate about the history. Must reserve a tour spot at least a week in advance.

They're trying to suppress the free exchange of ideas at Universities in Texas. This is a dangerous path of politicizing indoctrination into education.

Took a tour of governors mention which last in 30 mins. They ask to leave every thing in car which is not possible for many visitor. I was using uber to commute in city and hence carrying some stuff. They should have a locker facility and charge to discourage people using it rather deny and deprive entry all together

Beautiful building, albeit a little less nice architecturally compared to the Capitol

Came for a "governor's tailgate party" before a UT game. Security is very thorough. Although the party was outside, we were able to tour most of the mansion. It's very well preserved (although there was a big fire abt 20 yrs ago). It was unfortunately too hot to stay long, but maybe I'll get invited back someday.

It was cool. Our guide was good, but a short tour overall. Glad I went.

Quite White House-y but tours closed "due to Covid". Still a must-visit since it's so close the capitol building

This is an amazing historical home. Yes there have been renovations and updates that are meant for sustainability, but it really is a beautiful place. It requires a week in advance for security reasons. A family actually lives there and if it were you I'm sure you would want to know who's showing up on your door step. Stephen F. Austin's desk is in it. It blows my mind.
