A friend booked the bat tour for me when I came to Austin to see her. This was a lot of fun even though we only got to see the scout bats. Unfortunately the winds were strong enough to keep the bats from heading out to feed that night. Even though we didn't get to see the bats the tour was still worth taking. Out guide was funny and knowledgeable about the buildings architecture along the lake. Was a nice way to learn a bit about the city of Austin.

It was a fantastic experience and the only reason I didn’t give it the full 5 stars was because the microphone audio quality that the tour guide used was very muffled and I struggled to hear most of what the guy was saying. If you fixed the audio quality that would be awesome! Tour length was great. Perhaps tell people how long the trip will be at the start? And also have some signage at the front of the hotel area to help people that arrive at the hotel as we had to ask the bell staff where to go. Those guys were very friendly so that was good!

We took a boat tour of Lady Bird Lake before sunset which is when thousands of bats emerge from under the Congress Street Bridge. Sam was knowledgeable of the lake's and city's history and of the outstanding architecture. The city at night is awesome. I highly recommend seeing the bats and the city from the water with Capital Cruises.

I have lived in Austin for several years now and it seems like every time family/friends come through Austin, I get pulled into seeing the darn bats come out from under the Congress bridge. This time I decided to take a short bat cruise instead of standing on the bridge like I normally end up doing. I have to say that out of all of my visits viewing the bats this was hands down the best experience! Our tour guide was Beck and boy was he amazing and knew tons about the bats! He gave us a tour of Lady Bird lake which ended at the Congress bridge just in time for sunset. Within a few minutes of being there, the bats came out and what a sight it was! We stayed around for a good long while watching the bats steadily fly out. Way better than standing on the bridge or viewing from below. Although I hope I don’t have to view the bats again in the near future, I will def keep this place in mind if I do!

I took my family to the bat watch cruise in hopes of viewing the 2 million bats coming out from the Congress Avenue Bridge. Once arriving, parking was available and easily accessible. I would recommend arriving early to get the best seating on the boat. Plastic clean chairs were set up for guests to sit while viewing the bats. The guide was informative and provided information to the passengers about the buildings, and parks. The most awaited part was seeing the bats. They came out later at night and were harder to see, but the guides had red lights which helped us see the bats as they merged from the bridge.

Hands down the best boat to be on while in Austin! Make sure you book their DJ and Photobooth because you will party like no others. The staff is super friendly and great to work with. The Congress St. Bats, The Skyline, and The Vibes are incredible while cruising and is an unfortunate experience you’ll definitely won’t want to miss. I can’t wait to book the next one!

Fantastic outing in the evening away from the hot sun! Our boat tour captain Alec was amazing - full of knowledge and humor. It was a perfect amount of time, about an hour and fifteen minutes. Up and down the river, you get some history, sunset, pics and relaxation. Oh, and bats. The grand finale of bats was very very cool. Highly recommend!

We took our 4 yr old on a tandem kayak and had a great time! Our guide, Captain Zack was easy going and knowledgeable - we learned a lot about the skyline and interesting facts about the bats. We really enjoyed the adventure!

Had a great experience on this bat tour! As a local, I tend to stay away from touristic things but this was amazing. We had an informative driver and the bats at sunset were gorgeous (it is way better than being on the bridge). Plus it’s inexpensive & BYOB!

We had such an awesome time! We did the Bat Tour with a Sunset Tour and all I can say is that it was worth every penny! It was also really easy to access since we were staying at the Hyatt Regency. It was such a surreal experience watching all the bats fly out from under the bridge and watching the sunset. I also highly recommend going either at the end of July/early August, definitely a must when visiting Austin. Carson was our guide and he was so informative, friendly, funny, and pleasant! Can't wait to come back to viait the bats again! ☺️

I took my friend on the cruise for her birthday and we had a great time. The weather was perfect and the lake looked beautiful. Our guide was friendly and informative and made sure we had plenty of opportunities for pictures and to view the wildlife sunning themselves. The only flaw was one that the cruise company couldn't control and that was that the trio of people sitting right by us would. Not. Stop. Talking.

I went on a boat cruise during Sxsw. Some promotion party for Bose, they had really good DJs, with food and drinks included. My boat ride was free, and has been one of the best experiences I’ve had on the lake. We went at night, so it was dark and cold, but the good music kept us dancing, and having a great time. I’m definitely recommending this if you’re out of town and it’s cold but you still want to experience town lake in Austin.

My husband and I did the bat tour and had a great time. Captain Carson was awesome. Incredibly entertaining, funny and knowledgeable. Great music, and the bats were awesome to see from under the bridge. Cruise was about 1-1.5 hours. Highly recommend if you’re in Austin.

Great experience! The music was a great way to set the chill vibe for the ride. It played quietly under the captain’s information about Lake Lady Bird, Austin and conservation efforts. You could tell he had a lot of knowledge and love for the City of Austin! His relaxed delivery and passion kept me interested the entire time. We learned about the bats even though we weren’t able to see a lot of them. That wasn’t from a lack of effort though. Our captain even dropped off some of our boat mates and took us back out to see if they would make an appearance. No luck in the end, but still a lovely way to take in Austin on the lake!

I did the bat tour twice and each experience was different, which isn’t a bad thing! The tour guides are very knowledgeable and have their own unique perspective of the area. I was drawn to the tour for the bats but I enjoyed the easygoing sunset ride along Austin’s skyline even more! I recommend booking ahead of time online to ensure you can get a spot.

For only $13 a person you can take a relaxing river boat ride on a pontoon to see Austin and the bats under Congress bridge. Its very beauitful and the tour guides provide information about the city during the tour. I recommend bringing some water with you (or beer). Also, pay attention to the water near the boat you can see some turtles swimming nearby. Ive taken the tour twice now and love seeing the bats and the nature around austin. There is also a great opportunity to take pictures of the city skyline. Austin is beautiful. ❤

I went on so many bat tours with Capital Cruises because every time someone came to visit me in Austin, I'd book it right away. It was the perfect way to show people a view of the city and have some fun in the meantime! Every bat tour is different and unique. And the views are gorgeous!

I was very happy with the cost of the swan boats that we rented. The workers were friendly. We were provided with an umbrella because it was a hot day. We were definitely told it was a leg workout but my husband handled pedaling for us just fine. We didn't go too far but overall we're really happy with this experience. I definitely recommend.
