Not a bad Colorado River dammed up lake spot. You can rent a low speed boat dressed up as a vintage car or boat and slow boat around Snake Island and under and back under the bridge where the Austin adopted winged bat colony migrates too and fro. You can also see the Austin building skyline "grow" before your very eyes on the slow boat tour. If you are over 6 feet tall you will be cramped up in the vintage boats. A calming, and possibly romantic, boat ride can be had at Retro Boats there.

Such a serene park nested within the hustle and bustle of the busy city. There are so many people walking their dogs here, families with kids playing, beautiful old trees, and a great view of the Austin skyline. if you get bored doing your jog, you can always walk over to the hip and vibrant Rainey street nextdoor!

If you're ever thinking to yourself, self what is there to do on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Austin around town Lake? We chose to kayak...because kayaking is life.

I've lived in Texas (northern austin) since 2014 and have never made it down to this area of the river.. it was super pretty and lots of places to stop, sit and watch the water, birds and animals. Definitely a good place to walk around downtown and see the big buildings and the river and the same time. Super pretty spot.

Well, Waller beach has lost some of it's charm recently. Use caution when visiting. Didn't witness it, but apparently a guy experiencing homelessness was chasing people around the CMACA (Mexican Cultural Center) with an axe yesterday. Also, there is a great deal of trash in the creek under the bridge.

Absolutely a place to go on any plan, with family, friends, a date, on a run or just to relax by the water, hear and look at the nature and enjoy the day. You can also go canoeing or biking and is lots of fun. I went for a walk with my husband and time passed really fast as we were enjoying ourselves. Super recommend.

Nice park. Would be nicer without the homeless tents though. But that’s a larger conversation.

Awesome experience kayaking. It's a beautiful river with the backdrop of a city, lovely! The only unfortunate part is that when you get close to the edges, you can see the trash. Humans...

There may be no green here right now, but through the summer it's an absolutely beautiful place to hang out. There's some pretty impressive cypress trees, and I believe Waller Creek Conservatory put in bird houses a few years ago. Also the bridge down the way has lots of turtles during the summer, lots of wildlife in the area, Love It!

Beautiful people and a gorgeous scenery. Wish more could be done to help the homeless people and those in need living there. They need fresh water supply and other necessities.

Lots of benches to sit down. You can see squirells and rabbits also. Nice place to run and cycle near the river.

Rainey street became a very popular street, close to the river, the running trails and bars with live music, very attractive and suggestive. Next visit to Austin stop by, well recommended to release the body tension.

It’s a 3.5 So much pollution. The city needs to hire employees to pick trash out of the water. Police officers need to enforce fines for littering.
