I was there for a convention. My wife enjoyed going to the spa and pool area. She got a massage one day and thought that was fantastic. I spent all my time in conference rooms. The rooms were fine. The facility can handle very large conferences from what I could tell. The food that they provided for the conference people meals (breakfast and lunches) was good. We also went to the hotel restaurant area for some of our meals and that was very good too. They have a nice outside corner bar that was always well attended. It's fully covered so it can be year round I would assume. Lots of things around the hotel if you want to go to different places to eat or drink. All of those were within easy walking distance.

Very nice clean hotel, centrally located lots of good food nearby. Views are fantastic. The hotel gym is one of the best I’ve seen. Spacious, machines in working order, bottled water and towels available and 3 peloton bikes! Highly recommend.

Beautiful hotel! Rooms clean, beds very comfortable, staff very friendly and willing to help. Spa was TERRIFIC. Got a facial and my friend got a massage. Highly recommend. Reason for only 4 stars - the pool. It is SO small. And disgustingly crowded. They need to limit capacity for entry. They are VERY strict (literally have a “bouncer” at the door before you enter) about no outside food or drinks - but then when you get in the pool area it’s literally a pétri dish. We avoided it except for a cocktail or two, but they even didn’t have all the seating open. Very disappointed on that end, kinda wished we would have stayed somewhere else because we love to lounge by the pool.

JW Marriott never disappoints! Excellent quality. Service was great, Patrice at the front desk was very nice. Our room was great; Clean and with an amazing view. The gym is very well equipped and is in the same floor as the spa and the pool. Spa staff was very nice and friendly.

Overall the hotel and staff are nice. Spacious. I was there for a corporate event. Gym was nice Only complaint was my room door. I got locked out when coming back from the gym - the electronic lock had died. A manager came up, and eventually some engineers to get the door open. This took quite some time. The motherboard and batteries were apparently fine, i think i heard it was an IT issue. After showing and rushing to the event after this incident , coming back that night, there was a note left for me apologizing with a breakfast voucher. Unfortunately, the event provided breakfast every day, and the voucher expired after a couple days Overall, is what it is, still a nice hotel

Spent a week here at the end of August and overall was a great stay. First and foremost the front desk service was exceptional, welcoming + overall amazing first impression. Rooms: upon arrival room was very clean along with the bathroom. Overall great impression. However, on days I opted for service the cleaning job was average. Dirty glasses were left on the “desk” area and the washroom appeared to have a once over type of clean. Food: room service options were very minimal and more expensive than other Marriott properties. Limited vegetarian options and gluten free option was a salad. Lobby bar was a cool vibe, bartenders were great and again food options very limited. Corner restaurant has a great patio (limited food options) but overall great service. Deans steakhouse is amazing — 5 star experience from service to food. Definitely recommend. As far as the pool area goes, tons of seating, lounge chairs, and the bar was as expected. The spa — closed (despite hours on door saying otherwise) this was disappointing for sure. And, spas around hotel were totally booked on the 2 days I was hoping to end my trip with. Overall a decent experience, and would consider staying again. Location was great and within walking distance to most things.

We went to JW Marriott Austin to celebrate a birthday weekend, and we were very impressed with this hotel. When we arrived on check-in, Ruth (front desk staff) was very nice and helpful and accommodated us by providing a suite given my Marriott Titanium status. This was one of the best suite stays I’ve seen for a Marriott property! Service is fantastic and The hotel pool is really big for a downtown Marriott property. The location is also very convenient if you wish to go off the property and explore the city. Overall, I will definitely be coming back to this JW Marriott property in the near future!

Front desk service was top tier, always were attentive and accommodating. Valet experience was pretty lack luster. Bellmen weren’t really attentive at all. Rooms are great housekeeping team does a really good job. Pool service was mediocre. I had a great time would stay here again just wish the staff with the exception of front desk was a bit more attentive. Maybe i caught them on a bad day. overall a great stay, will be back!

I am Marriott elite. This is well run facility. Stay at JW and others all over. Wish I could remember lady at valet, Colin at desk, all the staff was great. Members club on 5 was staffed well also and stocked at all times. Kudos to staff. Breakfast was good. Will try the Dean's Italian steakhouse next time.

Had a week stay for a conference. Nice, clean rooms. Other need-to-knows (based on my experience): 1. Ice machine is ONLY on 5th floor by the fitness center. However, you can dial the front desk, and they will be happy to bring some to your room as complimentary. 2. Also, in the ice machine room is a microwave - I used it to heat up my leftovers when I didn't want to go out for food. Some might think it's inconvenient, but I did not mind the walk. 3. Fridge in some rooms, but available upon request. So, if you know you want one, ask at the time of check-in. 4. Shower pressure is good, not the slow, light flow. 5. Temp control is pretty loud. I found that 67° was too hot and 66° could get too cold. There wasn't a good consistency. 6. TV turns off automatically if it's not controlled for some period of time. I was watching football, and it cut off on its own (I think after 1.5 hours), and I had to scramble to get it back on and back to the channel I was watching! 7. Conference rooms were nice and air conditioned. 8. A majority of housekeeping only spoke Spanish. So if you don't speak any, it could be a bit tough communicating with them. However, they are always nice and willing to get you what you need!

I loved my stay here. I came for a conference and only stayed one night, but I wish it could have been longer. The room was beautifully situated, comfortable bed, and the bathroom had a real rug unlike most places where they give you a towel to use as a rug. I also loved that there was a vanity mirror that lit up in the bathroom. I had an event by the pool but unfortunately did not get a chance to use it. I had some issues with my phone network in the hotel, so lucky my conference had wifi. I'm not sure if they didn't have it if it would have been free or need to be purchased. The staff was very friendly and I was able to store my luggage before and after my stay with no issues.

Long lines, inattentive staff, and the rooms had no fridge? You have to request a fridge and a kettle. It's a very big hotel, so expect to be lost in the shuffle. The rooms were basic, not much to them. The gym was very nice, however. The exec lounge left a lot to be desired, the European Marriotts tend to have much better lounges.

Wonderful hotel & staff. We came for a conference & loved our stay here. The hotel felt new, well maintained, and had great facilities. The staff was very welcoming & helpful. Special thanks to Anas at the check-in counter. He was very helpful, and made us feel welcome as soon as we came in. He was very enthusiastic about working there & shared with us that this is one of the largest JW Marriott’s in the world. The location was perfect, we were able to easily walk everywhere and explore downtown. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Would highly recommend this property if you’re coming to Austin.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The location was perfect and the view from the pool was one of the best in Austin. It was my perfect little escape and staycation. We also really enjoyed the service at the bar. Taylor was wonderful and fast. If we lived closer, we would visit more often.

Recently stayed at the JW Marriott for an extended weekend in Austin and was fortunate to be upgraded to an executive suite. Everything was absolutely stellar including the spacious room, the hotel location, live music at the stunning pool deck and in the hotel lobby. Shout out to Paula the concierge who secured a last minute boat tour and also to Grant, the front desk manager, who ensured we had an amazing stay! Thank you both!! Will definitely book here every time I visit Austin!!! - Jody

There’s absolutely nothing special about this hotel and rooms at all. I’ve been in comparable quality Marriotts that are on their lower end. The keep charging your card every single night for “incidentals” even if you haven’t used any room service or anything. I have 5 pending charges from the hotel, and this is after paying for the 7 night stay right up front, after checking in. I brought this up with the manager, who was very dismissive. I’m annoyed, and I am not even paying for the hotel, not is my company paying the full price. Had I paid the $750/night myself, that it would normally cost, I would be bitterly disappointed at the value of this hotel. It’s in a great location, but that’s about it, and there are like 7 other hotels in the exact same area, that don’t cost as much, and look as good inside.

Oh my gosh, the JW Marriott Austin is such a lovely hotel!! I recently stayed here for the first time while in ATX for a conference - it was an absolutely amazing experience. Although my trip was short, it was so restful + enjoyable (I believe because I had the opportunity to stay here). My room was so beautiful and although I was located near the elevator, the space was so quiet. The staff here are so, so kind - I felt like such a priority, regardless of what I was needing through my stay. This place is incredible, I cannot recommend this JW Marriott enough!!

Exceptional service really made this stay stand out! All of the staff were so friendly and kind. The room was very clean and comfortable. Great room service and restaurants, as well as a super cool rooftop bar and pool area.

Wonderful hotel in downtown Austin. Close to just about everything. Room was clean, but the star of the show was the shower. Goodness that shower head is incredible. I need to know what brand it is. The executive lounge for Marriott Elites was nice, but not a big fan of the honor bar. The biggest drawback is the homeless situation in the neighborhood. Can't go back there until the governor fixes this problem.

Exceptional property that embraces Bill Marriott's ideals. From the moment I entered I was greeted with a smile and even though I was early, my room was ready. They had my high floor and fluffy pillows ❤️ The lounge was exceptional and just a nice way to start the day. Great breakfast choices and the fruit was fresh! This is one of my favorite Marriott's.

Beautiful hotel , great location. The rooms are comfy quiet and spacious. The gym and pool are amazing . I love the street level outdoor bar and I like that the burger bar is open late. The only reason I took one star off is because there is no fridge in the room which I really hate and there is only 1 ice machine on 5th floor. I know they will bring ice for free , but I’m not going to have someone come to my room and then not tip them, so it’s not free in my book Other than that , I love this hotel!!

My family and I recently stayed at the JW Marriott Austin hotel and we absolutely loved it! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the modern and stylish decor and the warm welcome we received from the staff. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay. The beds were incredibly comfortable and we slept soundly each night. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches like the complimentary water bottles and the Keurig coffee maker. One of the highlights of our stay was the amazing rooftop pool and bar, which offered stunning views of the city skyline. We spent hours lounging by the pool, soaking up the sun, and sipping delicious cocktails. The hotel's location was also perfect for exploring Austin. We were within walking distance of many great restaurants, shops, and attractions, and the staff was always happy to provide recommendations and directions. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the JW Marriott Austin and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and convenient place to stay in the city. Thank you to the staff for making our vacation so memorable!

I was visiting for a conference and my company had booked the room over the phone with the credit card details. The authorization was confirmed by the hotel staff. On my arrival, my personal credit card was swiped for "incidental charges". I confirmed with the front desk if my company card was on file and everything was set up for payment. I was assured that my personal card was only going to have charges on hold till I check out and that the final payment will go through my company card that was on file. 15 minutes later, I see the entire charge made on my personal credit card. On asking the front desk, I was reassured that it was their hotel policy to charge full amount on the physical card used at the time of check-in just to ensure that I can "afford the stay". But it will all go back to my personal card at the end of my stay and my company card will be charged the full amount of my stay. I was skeptical but I took their word. On the day of check out, my personal card was charged and I was told that they won't accept any card details that were shared over the phone without an authorization. On being asked if they had any details of communication regarding authorization with my company, they had no answers for me. I was repeatedly told that there was a note saying "individual responsible for payment". I was in complete disbelief. I was assured at two separate occasions that everything was set up correctly. My company personnel had confirmed regarding the authorization before my travel. After relentlessly going back and forth with the front desk, I was frustrated and let them charge my personal card as I had to catch a flight. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful towards a customer. I was not prepared to pay that amount and no empathy or remorse was shown by the staff. I was barely given a cold apology. I believe customers are checked-in in a haste without anyone actually caring to check for the details. I had plenty of time to call my company personnel at the time of check in or during my stay to iron out the authorization issue if it was mentioned to me at the time of check in. But I was never told that there was a problem. I was constantly lied to. And I am now left with a high amount on my card that would negatively affect my credit score. Utterly disappointed and will not be staying here again.

Highly recommended this place! Excellent staff including the front desk, executive lounge, and housekeeping are so nice, kind and very hospitable! Rochelle at the front desk was so welcoming and always had smile in her face. We would definitely go back to this hotel. My husband and I enjoyed our stay here!

Super nice and friendly staff. From the moment I arrived, the service was impeccable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure my stay was enjoyable. The hotel itself was beautiful with elegant decor and comfortable amenities. The rooms were spacious and clean, and I was pleasantly surprised by the number of high-end touches throughout the property. The location was also fantastic, situated in the heart of the city and within walking distance of many top attractions. Bonus for the roof deck pool.

Loved the JW in Austin. The service is top notch. Rooms are very nice with super comfortable beds! Easy self parking if you chose not to valet. Great location. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. Had breakfast in their restaurant and the food and service was great. Highly recommend the JW!

Overall nice hotel. The on site steakhouse was delicious, and we enjoyed this as our base of operations for my friend’s birthday. The only things that keep me from giving it 5 stars are the very overcrowded pool and the spa that, despite the massage rooms being open and empty the entire day, kept telling us they were completely booked for the weekend. I feel like they need a separate adults pool from the family pool, and we were disappointed about the spa availability. But we still enjoyed our stay and would likely come again.

Excellent hotel in the heart of downtown Austin. Plenty of places to eat in walking distance. The bat bridge is just one block away to watch the bats come out at sunset. The rooms are clean and modern. Free ice was delivered to our room when we needed it. All the staff were pleasant to interact with. The rooftop pool is big and even at peak hours there was plenty of room for everyone. The drinks at the bar were delicious, though expect to pay high prices for them. There is a dedicated parking garage which was easy enough to self park with in and out privileges. Valet is also available. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will happily come back next time we're in Austin

The check-in process was easy enough; however, I opted for a late-check out via the app several months before my stay. Upon check-in, I inquired about late-check out. I was told the latest I could check out was 12:00 without inquiring a fee. However, my coworker was told the latest they could check out without inquiring an extra fee was 2:00 (both of us were not loyalty members of Marriott). The conflicting information ended up not being a big deal, as I had to change my flight and left before 11:00 am anyway. However, some staff training needs to happen so everyone is on the same page. The bellhops were also very helpful! They helped me load everything into my Uber and thanked me for my stay. Cleaning and overall room service was very nice. My room was thoroughly made and reset everyday. The room cleaning staff was very friendly and we mutually greeted each other everyday in the hallways. Additionally, the front desk promptly helped me get more complimentary coffee delivered to my room. The outside bar and pool on floor 5 was lively and well-kept. It had a great vibe. All bar and pool staff were friendly. The outdoor bar staff even let me and four other coworkers have an evening table for about hour, even though we didn't have a reservation.

Good location, nice lobby and the corner restaurant on site was pretty good. We got avocado toast and beef burger. Both were spot on. The rooms can use an update. The carpet in particular was a bit worn. However, the shower was great (powerful shower head). The bed was very comfortable.

Comfortable and spacious rooms which are well appointed but could maybe use a refresh soon. The property is immaculate and the hotel staff is very assiduous. The Starbucks in the hotel is handy for a quick coffee but seriously understaffed so you will wait a while. It's a business hotel, so it feels a bit corporate, but they do a very good job at what they do. No complaints at all and we would be happy to stay again.

One word for this hotel...Spectacular! The architecture and attention to detail is fabulous! Everything...even down to the decor and lighting has been well thought out! The sconces in the bathroom are fantastic! The headboards on the beds are well-appointed for the Texas ambiance for which they are striving! The bar/lounge is relaxing with it's artistic fireplace! The service is terrific! Every employee does a fantastic job and is happy to be there! The rooms are very clean and fresh! The location can't be beat! Right in the middle of the best part of Austin! Great restaurants within walking distance as well as fantastic running and biking paths! Can't say enough great things about this hotel!
