This was by far the best experience I've ever had at a hotel! From the reservation and check in process, to the attentive but never intrusive staff, to the beautiful hotel itself. We stayed here to celebrate my wife's birthday and the accommodations were perfect. The hotel has beautiful design and decor that is warm and comfortable while also being modern and stylish. It is perfectly upscale Austin without being at all pretentious. The hotel and room is extremely clean and well thought out. All the fixtures and furniture feel luxurious and cozy at the same time. The location is in the heart of the cool part of Austin with an excellent selection of restaurants and bars within walking distance. We stayed in the King Patio which was surprisingly quiet. Even though we were in east downtown Austin, we felt hidden, sheltered, and most important secure, which was perfect. The bathtub and sky lights were an awesome addition to the room. The staff were extraordinarily welcoming and attentive, from the reservation, to check in, to check out, while at the same time being very sensitive to our space. You knew they were there to help but were never invasive. Being a small boutique hotel, you felt like you had the place to yourself, even though you knew there were others there. It definitely feels like a small luxury hotel and not a house that was turned into a bed and breakfast. What made it so special beyond any other hotel that I've stayed at was the attention to detail. All the little details were amazing. Details you never think about or knew you wanted, but they made the experience that much better. Details to the decor to the personalization. I will most certainly recommend Heywood Hotel to anyone visiting Austin. It's perfect!

Everything about Heywood Hotel is excellent! Beautiful property with great amenities and phenomenal people. Kathy made us feel so welcomed and cared for during our weekend staycation. Wonderfully soft sheets, beautifully fragranced bath soaps and bubble bath and the most relaxing room ever. Heywood Hotel will definitely be a staple for us moving forward when we just want to get away. Thank you Kathy and staff for making us feel so special. We really appreciate it.

Beautiful boutique hotel in East Austinโ€”we love this place! Comfortable rooms, all is pretty and super clean. Everything is there (and in itยดs place), well designed, and thoughtfully arranged. Love the little patio area and the filtered water (hot/cold) tea station. Great hospitality & priceless service! We received great recommendations for restaurants. One feels warmly welcomed and immediately at home. A truly fantastic place to stay in Austin. We will be back, thank you so much, Kathy!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Heywood Hotel in the distinctive neighborhood of East Austin. East Austin boasts many awesome restaurants (offering both inside and outside seating) within walking distance of the Heywood. It is close to downtown plus there is a nice running path along the river that is only a few blocks away. The Heywood is a boutique hotel with 7 rooms. Our room #4 was spacious, clean, quiet and even had its own private courtyard. The personalized touches were amazing, especially the welcome gift basket which included many items from local shops (coffee, snacks, beer and chocolate). We will definitely stay here again!

This hotel was an absolute gem!! We stayed in room 6, which had it's own private patio that was gorgeous. It's tucked away on a pretty quiet street that is still central to so many things. The hospitality was second to none; we will definitely be returning.

Truly a world-class experience! It's a nice little place which is positioned well as the launch pad to the Austin's sights and sounds. The room was beautiful and the staff are very friendly and eager to help you experience the culture of Austin. It's a nice place with 7 rooms, so it makes for a great place to come back to and unwind with a chill atmosphere.

The Heywood was truly my home-away-from home for 6 nights! I was so attached to the property (and my Queen Balcony room specifically) that I became wistful at the idea of leaving! HOSPITALITY: Will and Erin hosted the property during my stay, and both of them were so welcoming, helpful, accommodating, and offered much-appreciated recommendations for local activities and under-the-radar food spots to check out. I feel that Will and Erin struck just the right balance of professionalism and helpfulness, while allowing me my privacy and solitude. While I didn't run into the housekeepers since I was gone from 8am-5pm, they were thorough and thoughtful. My room was spotlessly clean every day when I got "home". The Heywood has a kitchenette-type area inside the main building (about 20 feet from my door), where there is filtered hot and cold water on tap, a microwave, and stacks of coffee cups, clean bowls, plates, cutlery, and napkins, among other things. On my first morning, I took a bowl to my room for my yogurt and fruit for breakfast. The housekeepers took notice, and from that point on, placed a new clean bowl and spoon above my mini fridge every day when they came into clean. It is small, thoughtful touches like this that make you feel at home, and I appreciated it so much. CREATURE COMFORTS: I entered my room to find an awesome welcome basket containing various snacks from local vendors, coupons for local businesses, organic energy drinks, chocolate bark, etc. plus a thoughtful handwritten note from the staff welcoming me to Austin. My room was outfitted with a coffee machine, fresh ground coffee and all accoutrements, mini fridge stocked with local beers, a high-end air purifier, and an EXCELLENT and versatile air conditioning unit, which is much appreciated with Austin's weather in June. One unexpected and neat discovery was the white noise machine that Heywood provided; I had never used one before, and it was a total game-changer for falling asleep fast, and staying asleep! The Heywood also provides each guest their own designated parking spot, free of charge, which is so valuable in the age of giant corporate hotels that charge an arm and a leg for that convenience. The parking spots are just down the stairs from the courtyard, which made coming and going throughout the day a total breeze. Lastly, the Heywood provides bikes to guests, which is such a cool way to explore the local food spots, explore the surrounding residential areas, and take in the beautiful Colorado River that is literally down the street! ROOM INFO: I stayed in the Queen Balcony room, which is on the Northeast side of the property, with its door opening to the outdoor courtyard. It is spacious, thoughtful, and comfortable. It has a long desk area with a window facing out into the courtyard, and since I came to Austin for a clinical residency, it was wonderful to sit here in the evenings and work on my reports as the sun went down. Both this window and the glass door leading to the balcony have blackout blinds, in case you don't want the sun to wake you in the morning. The room has a cute balcony with seating for two, which is set well off the street (so it's not too noisy), and is in a nook over the driveway, so you get the outdoor access without being stared at by passers-by. The balcony was such a peaceful place to spend my morning, drinking coffee as the sun rose, and listening to the grackle birds Austin is known for. The bathroom is sleek and modern, and the shower has a skylight peeking into the massive tree above the room, giving you a little window into nature. If you visit Austin, staying at the Heywood is an absolute must... it is one of those truly unique, one-of-a-kind stays that are so rare to come across.

Incredible service and beautifully appointed rooms and common areas! We appreciated the personal touch with chocolates and local craft beers to welcome us, and the staff gave great restaurant and activity recommendations w/a map to guide our walks. We spent time reading books on the front porch swings and enjoying the private patio area on the second floor. Will definitely return the next time we're in Austin!

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Heywood and we enjoyed our stay very much! We had everything we needed and wanted. We greatly appreciated the friendly, proactive communication and the early check-in, as well as the thoughtful decaf coffee kit which we had prearranged. You can also ask for snacks but we only wanted the coffee, which was excellent. The room was clean, comfortable, functional and attractive. It was very quiet so we slept well. The soft sheets and towels and the bath products are terrific! WiFi was reliable. There were full length and makeup mirrors and ample storage space. Weโ€™re on a 7-1/2 week road trip so we brought a bit more belongings than usual to allow for different climates and we had plenty of room to unpack. The free parking space is so convenient. Austin is pretty spread out so we drove more than we might usually, so being able to come and go was helpful. We were even lucky that the weather was nice enough that we could hang out on our private patio, though thereโ€™s very nice shared outdoor space as well. We generally prefer a larger safe, however we were able to fit everything in there that we needed to. I really canโ€™t think of anything that would have improved our stay. There are lots of cool places to eat and drink in the neighborhood, and itโ€™s not far from Rainey St. and Franklin BBQ. We liked walking over to Snooze for breakfast - truly among the best breakfasts weโ€™ve had anywhere (though we skipped the booze), and Juniper is a great choice for dinner. We thought it was a great value and one of our favorite hotels of the trip.

The Heywood Hotel was the perfect foundation for my fantastic solo week in Austin. The amenities, personal touches, free bikes, beautiful courtyard, and the East Austin location alone would've warranted a great review -- but the staff really set this hotel apart. The team working when I was there (Maris, Shaun and Kristen) were friendly, thoughtful and so helpful in their recommendations for me. I came to rely on their suggestions โ€”ย not because I hadn't done my own research, but because their ideas were so fun and far more local. Already looking forward to my next trip back!

Absolutely stunning hotel with a perfect location. We only had one night but had no reason to leave the neighborhood with so many places to eat and drink. Also the owner, Kathy, was so sweet and her attention to detail was impeccable. I need her to decorate my house.

The Heywood hotel is truly a gem, and after my latest stay, I can say that it is hands down my absolute favorite hotel. I've never felt more welcome at a hotel in my life. From the handwritten note welcoming me to the hotel to the personalized amenities, every moment at the Heywood was amazing. I cannot thank Erin and Kathy enough for helping me with my room, by bags, and finding a way for me to stay multiple days at the hotel despite a crazy booking schedule. I'm excited to visit Austin again. And I'm equally excited to book another stay at the Heywood.

Fantastic boutique hotel with above and beyond service. The gals working here made our entire visit to Austin fabulous. We followed all of their recommendations for where to go and what to eat. Have never felt so well cared for in a hotel, anywhere. Room was clean and cute with a great bed and good pillows. Loved the little patio area and all the special touches. Can't thank them enough. We will be back! Thank you, Heywood!

Our stay at Heywood Hotel was fantastic. The bang for your buck here is perfect. Free parking, quiet living quarters, & any amenity you needed was met before check in. You fill out a pre-check in where you can request robes, coffee, creamer, sugar, etc., ice, and 2 complimentary beers in the mini fridge!! Our check in was smooth and the staff were so informative and helpful. I wouldnโ€™t hesitate to stay here again.

The Heywood was a wonderful experience! Friendly staff who greeted us by name. Spacious, modern room with an amazing bathroom (love a room with a tub!) and a private patio which could be closed off to our room or left open into a shared space. The hotel is in a cute area with many restaurants/bars within walking distance. Our room (#4) was very quiet - we couldn't hear any street noise at all. Definitely worth a stay if you're in Austin.

Tiny room, no window. I felt like I was in a coffin. 7nights. This was our 3rd stay here. The first 2 were lovely. Sadly, no effort was made to help me. My husband thought he had booked a room.on the first floor bur apparently there was a miss communication. My last and final stay here. I do not recommend this place.

The Heywood was a perfect hotel for our Austin getaway. The staff was helpful. The welcome package included great local coffee grounds and beer that were put to good use. Bikes provided by the Heywood allowed us to get out and explore from a different point of view. The staff was always friendly and willing to bounce ideas and suggestions back and forth to help complete our itinerary. Franklin BBQ, Whisler's Bar, The White Horse and Kitty Cohen's were all short walks that were enjoyed by the ideal location of Heywood.

The owner, Kathy, loves East Austin and went out of her way to share places to go (including booking reservations). Erin was also so helpful with giving suggestions of places visit. Room was AWESOME and close to anything you want to do in Austin. Easy check in and check out. So thankful to stay here.

We booked all 7 rooms for 5 nights at this great hotel. We were looking for a home-type vacation rental for some of our family and friends attending our son's wedding and came across the Heywood Hotel. I strongly recommend anyone that is considering a vacation rental property needing 7 bedrooms to book with Heywood Hotel. Each guest has their own space and bathroom! Having the entire hotel was spectacular and it quickly became our comfortable home for the wedding week. It went beyond any of our expectations. The staff were helpful and friendly in every encounter. It is beyond spectacular!

Our stay was amazing! Erin at the front desk was sooo helpful and friendly! We took all of her eating recommendations and they did not disappoint. She was so accommodating to our needs! LOVED the personalized welcome bins with everything we requested! Unlike any other stay we have ever experienced! We accidentally left a phone charger and she offered to ship it for free! LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!! Only thing I mentioned is I wanted better lighting for doing makeup. But I havenโ€™t been at ANY hotel that has great makeup lighting once the natural sunlight goes down thru windows.

My husband and I agreed that this was our favorite hotel stay ever! Everything was amazing: the location in trendy East Austin just a short walk to great food but still quiet and calm, the personal touches in the room like pre-portioned coffee and a loaner umbrella to name just a few, the comfy mattress and sheets, high end toiletries, beautiful and local Austin art throughout, complimentary bikes to set out and explore, and free parking! The best part was the staff though, who were always happy to recommend a great place to grab drinks or where to ride our bikes. They made the stay really special and we can't thank everyone enough! Shout out to Kristen and Maris! We can't wait to visit again on our next trip to Austin!
