With over 200 nights a year in hotels, cleanliness, comfort and customer service are paramount to our loyalty to the Marriott brand, the Residents Inn/Courtyard Convention Center didn’t disappoint. No offense to other Residents Inn/Courtyard but this isn’t your average Residents Inn/Courtyard on several levels, from the interior design to the level of customer service this Residents Inn/Courtyard is in a class of it’s own. It is also centrally located and walking distance to the many amazing restaurants in the area as well as the state capital and other state government buildings. When we arrived we were met by Promise at the front desk, she was amazing and as I requested we were on the Residence Inn side of the property. Our room was clean, spacious and best of all quiet. Housekeeping does an excellent job! The breakfast buffet is incredible, the section of food and beverages would rival any larger hotel but the best part of the experience is the customer service by Carmen and Koing, always available and quick to keep the buffet stocked and take any plate’s you had to dispose of. When we return to Austin this will be our hotel, you can’t beat the location, rooms and the customer service.

Over the last 3-years I have stayed primarily in Marriott hotels and my last stay at the Courtyard in downtown Austin was extremely poor. Stayed for 3-nights. At check-in the receptionist confirmed that we wanted our rooms cleaned daily including fresh towels. On our second day no one had come to clean the room or provide fresh towels when we returned at 3 pm. We were assured that the room would be cleaned while we were out at dinner between 4 pm - 8pm. The receptionist write down our room # and noted we wanted the room cleaned. When we returned to the room at 10 pm the room was not cleaned nor were fresh towels provided so I went down to request new towels and to ensure that the following day the room would be cleaned which I again watched the receptionist write down. The next day was the same thing. We left hotel from 9 am - 4 pm and came back to an untouched room. Again reminded the receptionist who noted it down and stated it would be cleaned before we returned at 9 pm. We arrived back at the hotel at 11 pm and the room was never touched. So I again had to go downstairs to get fresh towels. 3-nights and 4 discussions on cleaning the room and providing fresh towels daily, all noted by the various receptionists. $1,031 for 3-nights, no room cleanings, no clean towels, and no apologies, nothing. I would give a 0 star if that were possible.

The room was perfect and clean, great location right by everything downtown. Leaving 1 star because I accidently left a $300 jacket hanging in the closet, called the hotel a few hours later to ask if they had it and I was told nothing was found in the room. I've emailed customer service also with no response. Room itself was worth it but just know there's a thief in their housekeeping staff.

My recent 2 night stay at the Courtyard Austin Downtown/Convention Center was wonderful! The room was large and comfortable, I loved the fridge and microwave! All of the staff that I encountered were friendly and professional. I had an issue with my AC in the room, the repair person arrived promptly, and the room was nice and cool upon my return. The breakfast buffet was far above my expectations! A wonderful assortment of hot and cold foods, a variety of juices, and everything was tasty. Best grits I have had in a long time! Perfect location, a quick walk to the Convention Center. All in all, a great visit. Thank you for everything, this will definitely be my go-to hotel for future visits to Austin!

I typically select a Courtyard for business or when traveling alone. They are simple and basic no-frills hotels, but you know exactly what you're getting. Not so with this Courtyard - I will not be staying here again in the future. The staff and cleanliness was as expected, so no complaints there. The issue was the building itself: the walls are so thin I could tell you want was going on down the hall. This was easily the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in (and I was here Sun night thru Wed, so not even on the main weekend nights!). I heard the ice maker dumping ice throughout the night as if it were above my head, clicking sounds in the room, and every conversation on my floor. I've never woken up so bleary-eyed: not a great experience when traveling for work. There are too many hotels in this area to settle for this - Marriott loyalty or not, take it from me and skip this Courtyard if you enjoy waking up feeling rested.

One staff member on the front desk was rude, the other one was stressing so much I thought she was going to have a panic attack. The Marriott website clearly said they had self park and valet parking when we booked the room, when we got there we were told valet only or we could park at a lot 2 blocks away. This area was scary enough as it was, homeless people hanging around, one sleeping on a park bench outside and they wanted us to walk 2 blocks back to the hotel. We were given all kinds of ridiculous excuses why it was valet only, none were valid, I think they were making it up cause they really didn't have a reason. We called Marriott and was kindly switched to another hotel. Don't stay at this dump.

Very disappointed with the lack of customer support given with this hotel. Upon arrival the clerk apparently didn’t know what to do as my reasoning of even staying here was because of a work trip. The supervisor was requesting payment although my company already paid. $50 was charged on my card, when nothing shouldn’t have been authorized. It then went into not seeing my information on file listed. After a dead silence for a few seconds the finally all of sudden everything was found. Their apologies were 2 small water bottles for their trouble. It’s the lack of training as this isn’t rodeo on how things work. Secondly, there is NO AC within the building it’s hot as hell. My beds weren’t even made!!! Don’t expect hot water trying to shower. On my second day, strangely people staff knocked on my door which I was single female alone. Why couldn’t they have called? Very scary!!!! The area is rough!!! Homeless people everywhere!!!!! All in all this hotel will never be an option for me again.

Champions was a filled with vibrant servers. Chelsea made sure we had everything we needed. Coming all the way from Boston, it was great to see this kind of service. Excited to come back to Champions next time I’m in Austin!

Came here for a relaxing girls weekend and enjoyed every moment of our stay thanks to the attentive staff beginning with the Valet Ricky and Noah. Front desk was extremely helpful and the hotel was clean. You can plainly see the cleaning staff takes pride in their work. Room was cleaned thoroughly and even furniture was moved and cleaned. Something i highly appreciate from staff. Valet is pricey but we were informed before hand that Sundays was free parking, we chose to use all accommodations. Thank you so much!

Title: Outstanding Service and Exceptional Attention to Detail at Starbucks! I recently had the privilege of experiencing exceptional customer service at my local Starbucks, and I want to give a shoutout to two incredible baristas who went above and beyond to ensure a truly memorable visit - Leah and Laura. From the moment I walked in, both Leah and Laura greeted me with warm, genuine smiles. Their professionalism was evident in their poised demeanor and their willingness to provide exceptional service. What impressed me the most was their attention to detail in handling my order, making sure every aspect was just as I had requested. Leah took the time to patiently listen to my preferences and expertly crafted the perfect cup of coffee, making sure it was customized to perfection. Her mastery in ensuring the right balance of flavors and temperatures astounded me. It's clear that Leah takes immense pride in her work and genuinely wants to provide the best experience possible for every customer. Laura, on the other hand, displayed an incredible level of attentiveness and efficiency. As I observed her multitasking, it amazed me how she flawlessly managed the bustling environment while maintaining a high level of quality in every aspect of her work. Her meticulousness when preparing and serving my beverage showed a true commitment to excellence.

We had a fantastic 2 month ( right @ 2) business trip. We stayed @ the Residence Inn. Mrs. Karen is amazing she went above & beyond . The valet team are a wonderful team!! Room(s) spacious & clean. Breakfast was great with big selection & very nice Hostess ( Lady black hair/ glasses) I apologize her name escapes me. Our whole experience was very delightful 😊 If we could give 20 stars 🌟 we would. Especially for Mrs. Karen. Courtyard/Residence Inn Marriott downtown Convention Center is located in a great area. You can walk to many places. Thanks Mrs. Karen, Valet & Residence Inn team for the great experience. Have a blessed yr & upcoming New Yr.

Great location and the rooms and facilities were clean. Great service here, with a special call out to Gwen. Gwen is exactly the person you want to greet you at the front desk. She is friendly, attentive and welcoming. Gwen really stood out and showed that she really wanted me to enjoy my stay. Thanks Gwen!

I absolutely love this Starbucks in Austin! The service here goes above and beyond - Jackie and Laura are absolute pros at making customers feel valued and appreciated. They both are great at remembering my usual order and greeting me by name, which instantly makes me feel right at home. It's a truly welcoming experience!

Absolutely amazing experience every time I stay here. I specifically want to recognize Leah, Angie, Laura, Isaac and staff at Starbucks for a wonderful experience as I get my morning coffee. They are always so kind and friendly and always get my drink perfect. 10/10 highly recommend!

Great location, walking distance to most things downtown. I loved our waitress, Blu, when we ate at Champions. She was very accommodating and had a great sense of humor. The food was good and the wait went by quickly. The staff at Starbucks was great too. After a couple visits, Laura and Isaac, started recognizing us and even remembering my drink order. It was very sweet. We’ll definitely be staying here again in the future

The Courtyard by Marriott Austin Downtown is a true gem in the heart of the vibrant city of Austin, Texas. I recently had the pleasure of staying at this remarkable hotel, and I can't say enough positive things about my experience. From its exceptional proximity to the convention center, entertainment areas, and an array of top-notch restaurants, this hotel offers a truly memorable stay that exceeded all my expectations. First and foremost, the hotel's location is an absolute standout. Situated just a stone's throw away from the Austin Convention Center, it's a haven for business travelers attending conferences, conventions, and trade shows. I was in town for a business event, and the convenience of being able to walk to the convention center was a major plus. No need to deal with traffic or parking hassles – it made my trip stress-free and more productive. In addition to its closeness to the convention center, the Courtyard by Marriott Austin Downtown also boasts easy access to the city's vibrant entertainment areas. Whether you're into live music, arts, or cultural events, you'll find an abundance of options just a short walk from the hotel. The famed 6th Street Entertainment District is within walking distance, offering a lively atmosphere filled with bars, clubs, and live music venues. It's the perfect place to experience Austin's renowned music scene and vibrant nightlife. The hotel's commitment to comfort and luxury is evident in every aspect of the property. The rooms are well-appointed and offer a perfect blend of modern design and cozy ambiance. I was particularly impressed with the plush bedding and spacious bathrooms. The attention to detail was truly exceptional, making my stay feel like a home away from home. One of the standout features of the Courtyard by Marriott Austin Downtown is its outstanding dining options. While there are countless incredible restaurants in Austin, you don't have to venture far to enjoy delicious meals. The in-house restaurant and bar serve delectable cuisine and craft cocktails. I had a delightful dining experience at the hotel's restaurant, which offered a diverse menu with something for every palate. And the convenience of being able to grab a delicious meal without leaving the hotel was a significant benefit, especially after a long day of meetings or exploring the city. The hotel staff also deserves praise for their impeccable service. From the moment I checked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a genuine commitment to making my stay enjoyable. They were always ready to assist with any request or question I had, and their professionalism and friendliness made a lasting impression. In summary, the Courtyard by Marriott Austin Downtown is an exceptional hotel that truly offers great value for your money. Its prime location, just steps away from the convention center, along with its proximity to entertainment areas and top-tier dining options, makes it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers. The comfortable accommodations and exceptional service create an all-encompassing experience that leaves a lasting impression. I can't recommend this hotel enough and will definitely be returning on my next visit to Austin.

Had an amazing stay this week during Afrotech. The rooms were spacious, AC worked great and had a nice quiet view of the convention center. Lawrence at the front desk was very hospitable and kind during our stay with his attention to details and communication. The bathtub is a little outdated but still worth the price and service overall. Also cannot beat having Starbucks downstairs and having a quick walk across the street to the convention center, highly recommend!

Definitely recommend staying here if you're attending a show at the convention center. I love how convenient it is as it's just across the street, and there are so many restaurants that are walking distance. Rooms are great. I love they got rid of carpet. Bathroom needs updating but still good, has everything you need. The receptionist I got, Lei, was amazing. She was so friendly and helpful. She made me feel so welcomed and made sure I had everything I need.

This was the best Courtyard I have stayed in. I checked in for 2 nights after getting stuck in Austin due to the massive number of flight cancellations during Christmas week. I had a connection at the Austin airport that was cancelled. After spending an entire day waiting in an airport, I decided to make the best of it and stay in Texas and explore Austin for a few days until the flight situation improved. Upon checking in and knowing what I went through, the front desk went above and beyond to welcome me and make me feel comfortable. The hotel room was very comfortable and had a beautiful city view. Breakfast was great! I was so relaxed here despite my initial travel plans being ruined. I even extended my stay an extra night so I could explore Austin more. Thank you Courtyard by Marriott Austin Downtown!

Great location. So close to many nice places. Valet area seemed congested when we first arrived but they did a great job of moving everyone through. Check-in was a little awkward (not bad) at first. Room wasn’t ready so they told us to come back in an hour. 🤷🏼‍♂️ They were convinced texting me when the room is ready was the appropriate thing to do. It worked out just fine. It’s a nice place and I plan to stay here when I return to Austin.

This place is awesome! So many terrific aspects from the lounge areas to the perfect room. I travel quite a bit and could not ask for a better hotel experience. Honorable mention to Mo and June at the front desk. I can’t imagine a better customer facing experience. They both added kind consideration and an unparalleled customer facing experience to my stay.

Easily the lousiest Marriott I’ve ever stayed at. The entrance and valet arrangement are miserable. For a location that is next to a convention center, they simply cannot seem to handle the arrival and departure process very well. Further, the construction of the entrance for vehicles is overly tight and is uncovered. Concierge was fairly useless. Did not allow door dash delivery to my room but also did not alert me that my delivery was just sitting in the lobby. At time of departure, a request for a luggage cart seemed like a foreign concept for the concierge to understand. I had to retrieve my own from the valet. I expected so much more from a marriott branded hotel. I know where I will avoid for future stays in Austin.

After having to make several phone calls. All of my incorrect charges were corrected. I left a bad review and even though my stay was not a pleasant experience. I still want to say how most of the staff here try’s to help and respond. I would easily have given this place a 5 star if higher management was more like the staff. Attentive and understanding. I think this hotel needs to make available pool regulation on the website and booking info.

Mostly acceptable, but not great experience. 1) Elevators smelled like weed. This just isn’t acceptable at any property. 2) The shower in my room, which was a tub shower, flooded my bathroom floor. I did use the curtain properly, but the design of the shower head and spray pattern somehow managed to drench the bathroom. 3) This could be a product of when I arrived (830PM), but there was a long queue to check in. Each person seemed to be taking much longer than normal. As a Marriott Ambassador member, I did attempt to mobile check-in earlier that day, but this did not save me from the queue. The property was okay for a one-night stay, but I wouldn’t stay here for a longer visit.

What a great place to stay. My wife and stayed for three nights and we couldn't have asked for a better overall experience. Vallet guys were awesome, check-in was fast and the front seat was very helpful giving us recommendations. Our room was spotless, you can tell the housekeeping department take great pride in making sure guests are comfortable. We've stayed plenty of places in Austin, this was by far the best!

  • 4/5 Chris M. 1 year ago on Google
Had a nice 3 night stay here. No real complaints other than the windows were either really dirty or hazy for some other reason. Sort of a bummer when you're up on a higher floor with decent city views. Staff was very nice and the rooms were fairly clean.

I have stayed at 100's of Marriot brand hotels and this one was one of the absolute best that I have ever had!! Shane greeted us and checked us in early despite being very busy and even took the time to show us around the hotel and where things were. Valet staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The rooftop area was amazing and even when we returned later on in the evening the staff still remembered us from earlier. Sergio one of the engineers was extremely helpful. ! The entire staff really made me feel like an elite member!! It was very close to the downtown area and we were able to walk to everywhere! Whenever we visit Austin again we will for sure be staying here. Thank you so much!!
