Let's start with the cons: 1. Kids were ready to swim. Bartender overheard us talking about it and flat out told me (mind you NOT when I booked), that the hotel really doesn't want kids in the pool disturbing the guests. Um, I am a mom on vacation with my boys so the pool IS happening! Furthermore, we ARE the guests. I tell the other guests in the pool what she said and they were like, WHAT??? They had their kids coming to the hotel the next day and they would be using the pool, just like they had in the past. 2. The TV in this swanky expensive hotel did not work. While the hotel did give a discount for this, you'd think they would check out all rooms to make sure all is working before having a guest stay there. 3. I order a croissant with my breakfast. The kitchen calls me back and says it will take one hour to cook it. I mean, COME ON! 4. I called ahead of time to see if they had a EV charger. Yes they have one for Tesla. Great. When I get there, a car was parked in the charging spot (and not charging). When I mentioned once again that I needed to charge, the guy checking us in mumbled that he would see what he could do. Nothing was done. Once the car left the next day, I finally got to charge. 5. NOT many food options at all so donโ€™t count on that. On to the pros: 1. Hotel is within walking distance of lots of restaurants, shops, bars, etc. 2. It has a cool, swanky vibe and the use of the record player and records was a nice touch. 3. The balconies and room were a nice size. 4. Bar made great drinks. 5. European options for toiletries and snacks, which we enjoyed. 6. Small venue and quiet.

It's a very lovely place but for the prices I yes I would expect so much more. The rooms are well appointed I've only stayed 2 times but the bed was comfortable AC worked and the toilettries are particularly nice but that's really where all the good ends....I wish they would find some way to help people with their bags to their rooms well I appreciate the secrecy and privacy of this hotel there really needs to be more focus on service especially with concierge If you're looking for that exclusive luxurious hotel experience this is not the place

This venue and hotel are beautiful and the service staff were all very nice and it is was a bummer that the event staff really made for a sub-par experience. If you do not value customer service, clear communication, privacy at a private event or love to have endless arguments, then this event space is for you! If you value any of the above I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere. Unless, Nancy no longer works here. Then just proceed with caution. I am not 100% sure if Nancy's actions were forced by company policies or not. If her actions were forced I do apologize to Nancy for this review. This being said, the actions as a whole are still inexcusable for a high-end establishment. The space, food, and day of service staff are all great. Especially the bartender. She is extra awesome. I got married last week and had our celebratory dinner in the courtyard. Did I mention it was beautiful? When you first meet Nancy, she is nice and easy to work with but as soon as the deposit is down, the contract is signed and if your event needs any changes to your event throughout the ordeal she is brash and seemingly, purposefully deceitful. The amount of stress and tears she personally made my bride feel throughout this ordeal is, unfortunately, a huge blemish on our otherwise beautiful day. As mentioned in a lot of other reviews -- "make sure that you have a written record of all communication with the eventโ€™s staff, especially Nancy. It will be essential to reference when there is an inevitable issue." From the beginning, we were promised the entire courtyard and even paid a ~$1,500 event fee for the rights to it. Upon arrival, our tables had been pushed to the far side of the patio where there were no lights. The other side had been set up for the public to use and had a large party gathering. We immediately asked why and Sarah --the assistant-- explained that they never "explicitly said" it would be a private event and she seemed not to care about our concerns. We are very covid conscious and this made for an uncomfortable night. There were hours of phone calls and conversations that were had prior to the day of to make sure everything went flawlessly. A couple of positive notes - the bartender is an awesome person and the service staff are very friendly. The food was also pretty decent. This being said, we were forced into having a $3,000 food budget for only 11 people.

Worst service ever. They don't know how to treat guests. Double check the receipt when you leave, because they double charge you and then add minibar charges. I will never go back to this hotel. The General manager is the first person who doesn't know what hospitality is.

This hotel is run by a bunch of crooks. My friends and I booked rooms and then had to cancel which we did over 45 days out. They tried to charge us 50% of our fee and said it was policy. This policy is not on their website nor were we told about it when we made the reservation. We have emailed and called and got no responses to our complaints. It is completely unethical and I would never book at this hotel. So be very warned- there a lot of other places to stay in Austin To take a chance on this place.

One of the most beautiful experiences that Austin has to offer. Private and special feel and yet accessible and welcoming to everyone. Beautiful place and great staff.

Phenomenal. I simply cannot wait to return, and Iโ€™m still here! Itโ€™s vibes up in here. Brian and Eric effortlessly impressed with memorable service. The food was great and I want to try more. I had fantastic cocktails in the lounge. I explored and enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere and ambiance. I feel wonderfully understood by this place. I wonder what I should book nextโ€ฆ

Their sheets are so comfortable I bought a set. But they are 750 bucks!! But I have been sleeping with them For years now. Great spot. Also I asked front desk for a wake up call bc I had a heavy night of drinking and needed an early flight and told them how important getting this flight was and as expected I slept through the alarm and phone calls they actually came down and knocked on the door and woke me up in person. I was so grateful! Pool could be a bit warmer in the winter but other than that great spot!

Stayed a night here and wish I booked another one. The drinks were memorable and fresh. Although the food menu might seem limited, itโ€™s amazing. We had the best breakfast on our private patio. My husband and I stayed in suite 1 and the entire space felt like a hidden retreat within in the city.

Loved my weekend stay at this quaint hotel. The check in was easy. The room is like a small apartment minus a kitchen add turntable. Nice selection of vinyl records to check out. The boutique has very unique items. I loved the toiletries. The food was really good. We especially loved having breakfast next to the fireplace that faces that amazing old tree. The pool is inviting. The grounds meticulous. I would love to stay here again. Austin is cool

Great little boutique hotel in the SoCo neighborhood. Walking distance to amazing restaurants, shops and beautiful streets. The hotel grounds and pool are gorgeous, tons of old growth live oaks creating yummy shade in the heat of the day. The rooms are nicely appointed and the service incredibly hospitable. The only downside we had was a non-functioning fridge, but the staff were kind and allowed us to store our goods in the bar fridge. The price is on the higher side, although generally we had a four-star hotel experience. All in all a nice stay!

Awesome! Just missing a coffee maker in room in my opinion, but other than that staff is great, location is perfect with free on the street parking. Pool is quiet and neat. Weโ€™ll go back !

We were lucky enough to have our wedding at HSC on April 22!! The attention to detail and the special touches the team made for us the days before and day of the wedding made the event so incredibly special for us and our families. The chance to have everyone together at the same site was unique to HSC. It created a whimsical, secret garden feel that we will never forget! The food was amazing- the drinks even better! Our family and friends still talk about their rooms and the overall experience. Being walking distance to shops and restaurants was also great because everyone could go do things on their own during the day without needing to go very far. Definitely recommend! We will be back.

A beautiful small boutique hotel in Austin Texas. Access to live music venues, decent eating establishments. Public focus on extreme politics can be a distraction.

As a local Austinite, I love to staycation here! It's so charming, quaint and the service is top notch. All the rooms are gorgeous and it's always such a great experience.

I applied for a job here and overall had a very unpleasant experience. From the start, you have to figure out parking on your own, so get there 30 minutes early or be ready to pay out of pocket. The street is packed, cars taking up any free spot for 6+ blocks and the rest of paid parking is also 6+ blocks away. The outdated corporate interview questions didn't actually allow for me to expand on my qualifications, interviewer was more interested in talking about the property than how i can help the team, and this went on for an entire hour. Lastly, they took a whole month to reach out with a decision, only to say i am not qualified.
