Our
recent
stay
at
the
Sonesta
Simply
Suites
Austin
The
Domain
Area
was
a
significant
disappointment.
When
we
arrived,
we
were
informed
that
there
were
security
issues
and
none
of
the
room
keys
were
working.
For
the
duration
of
our
stay
we
had
to
locate
a
member
of
staff
to
gain
access
to
our
room.
That
said,
I
was
very
appreciative
of
a
staff
member
named
Tammy
who
was
very
kind
in
helping
us
as
we
needed
it
-she
was
the
one
positive
part
of
our
stay
here.
The
elevator
we
took
up
to
our
room
stank
of
urine
and
continued
to
do
so
through
the
trip.
On
arriving
at
our
room,
it
was
immediately
obvious
that
the
facilities
we
had
use
of
were
much
gloomier
and
more
dated
than
the
picture
portrayed.
We
were,
based
on
the
pictures,
excepting
a
clean,
updated
space.
What
we
got
was
much
older
appliances,
grubby
walls,
and
more
run
down
furniture.
Furthermore,
on
opening
the
closet
to
store
some
of
our
items
we
were
greeted
by
mold
on
the
ceiling.
As
I
was
writing
this,
I
was
thinking
of
someone
saying
“You
get
what
you
pay
for”,
but
I
don’t
think
that
is
true.
The
experience
we
had
would
have
been
more
fitting
of
a
$60-75
a
night
stay,
rather
than
the
$110+
we
paid,
and
we
have
stayed
in
cheaper
hotels
that
were
significantly
more
pleasant
than
this.
Given
these
are
the
standards
Sonesta
had,
I
would
be
very
hesitant
to
stay
at
one
of
the
properties
they
operate/own
in
the
future.
We
actively
stayed
out
to
avoid
returning
to
the
hotel
room.
I
am
thoroughly
disappointed
that
we
chose
to
stay
at
the
Sonesta
Simply
Suites
Austin
The
Domain
and
would
encourage
people
to
look
elsewhere
–
there
are
far
better
options
available
for
your
money.
