Our recent stay at the Sonesta Simply Suites Austin The Domain Area was a significant disappointment. When we arrived, we were informed that there were security issues and none of the room keys were working. For the duration of our stay we had to locate a member of staff to gain access to our room. That said, I was very appreciative of a staff member named Tammy who was very kind in helping us as we needed it -she was the one positive part of our stay here. The elevator we took up to our room stank of urine and continued to do so through the trip. On arriving at our room, it was immediately obvious that the facilities we had use of were much gloomier and more dated than the picture portrayed. We were, based on the pictures, excepting a clean, updated space. What we got was much older appliances, grubby walls, and more run down furniture. Furthermore, on opening the closet to store some of our items we were greeted by mold on the ceiling. As I was writing this, I was thinking of someone saying “You get what you pay for”, but I don’t think that is true. The experience we had would have been more fitting of a $60-75 a night stay, rather than the $110+ we paid, and we have stayed in cheaper hotels that were significantly more pleasant than this. Given these are the standards Sonesta had, I would be very hesitant to stay at one of the properties they operate/own in the future. We actively stayed out to avoid returning to the hotel room. I am thoroughly disappointed that we chose to stay at the Sonesta Simply Suites Austin The Domain and would encourage people to look elsewhere – there are far better options available for your money.

Please don't stay here ! It's horrible. It's dirty and run down! One of the 2 elevators were down the entire time we were there. Horrible smell throughout the entire hotel. Soooooo bad!

My dad stayed here for three days and was appreciated the very helpful and hospitable staff, kitchen with full size fridge and unexpected appliances, and free washers and dryers. Very reasonable prices and will definitely use this place in the future if we need it.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. I enjoyed going to the front desk for a newspaper each day of my stay. I read the paper and appreciate they had it. I also liked the side entry of hotel. It had some chairs and grills. You could ask front desk for more supplies if needed. They also had a case of items you could borrow while staying with them. I enjoyed the space I had while I stayed in Austin. Close to art supplies and book stores is always a win.

Good place to stay if you're looking for a 2-star decorum. It's what you get for the price you pay. Somewhat smelly and damp rooms. The kitchen was well furnished. The studio room has limited light. There is no business center or lobby as shown in the pictures. It's converted into a storage or vending machine. See and compare attached pictures. It has laundry and a small gymnasium.

This was my first time staying at this hotel, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The minute I walked in to check in, I was impressed. Catherine was the clerk that checked me in, & her customer service skills were amazing. She went above & beyond answering questions & making me feel like I was the only guest there. The next day I stopped to ask for an extra bedding for a visitor, when she handed it to me she said she didn't have one of the 'soft blankets' there at the front desk but she would find one & bring it to the room. She was knocking on the door within 2 minutes of me being back in the room. The suite itself was also a pleasant surprise: larger than expected, quiet & updated. Anytime I stopped at the front desk for anything, Catherine was there to help, with a smile. I had initially booked the room for 2 nights, but because of the experience, I stayed an extra night. I really hope they know just how amazing Catherine is at her job. Customer service is lacking in so many places these days, but not here. I can't wait for my next trip to Austin.

I experienced terrible customer service I booked online. and when I got there the price was totally different they had increased” the price of the room what I booked for it went from $236.95 to 380.00. and when I asked the lady up front why was the room higher in person she tried too reach out to someone by the name Priscilla she wasn’t much help at all. Never got that issue corrected.

Wow! I am very impressed. My boyfriend, my daughter, and I left another hotel at 5:30am. When I tell you they checked us in and make sure we was okay. The front desk staff is amazing. Tammy, Katerina, and Priscilla take their job seriously. They all know hospitality. Thanks to Shelly for bringing me extra towels when our dishwasher had flooded. She came and help put down the towels. They all treat us like family. I love it here. I love everything about this hotel. We’re just here for work. But they all go above and beyond to make sure you’re happy and satisfied. Also when you check in they make you feel so welcome. They greet you and make conversation with you. I would definitely recommend 10/10. Oh yea also the maintenance guy John is awesome as well. The manager is awesome. They make sure you feel safe. Housekeeping is definitely on point. They’re awesome and the rooms be smelling good.

The room was spacious and well stocked, but it never fully cooled off in the room even though the AC was at 61° the whole weekend. A HUGE shoutout to Priscilla at the front desk for her customer service, she went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. Nice, clean grilling area. It was also the smoking area, but it wasn’t littered with cigarette butts. We had our dogs and 1 year old and felt very comfortable.

I loved the room. The bedroom is separate from the living room which has a pull out couch. Bathroom is spacious. Kitchen area has every item needed from electrical stove w pans. Only areas I dislike is room service isn't daily so I had to ask daily for new towels and toilet paper when I ran out. To enter side of building closer to your room from the parking either you had to jump a lil wall steep w grass on a hill where you might fall or walk all the way around almost to the front entrance. Front desk was so nice and prompt when asking for items.

Excellent location and our suite had a kitchen with two burner stove and full size refrigerator. Two TV’S divided into two separate rooms with sofas and beds. Great when one is coming in later and others have gone to bed. Pet friendly. Delicious Full Breakfast included.

The staff was nice, unfortunately the hotel seems to be under construction on the inside. Most of the 1st floor ceiling was exposed. On the 2nd floor there was no carpet in some areas and you could totally tell they were making repairs from some type of water damage. I say all that to say rooms should NOT be $100/ night with all that going on.
