As I was going through my previous hotel stays, I realized that I forgot to rate/comment on this property (delinquent by 2 years), but I did remember our stay here since we flew in to Austin to attend a wedding. First and foremost, my family and I really enjoyed the time in this hotel. Although I wasn't too enthusiastic on paying for parking, I did appreciate the folks doing the valet service - all were professional and friendly. The room rates were decent for being a Hilton property in the downtown area. The room itself was clean and our view from the room was decent (we're from Las Vegas so I guess we're just used to different scenery). The hospitality services overall were great (housekeeping personnel were friendly and helpful whenever I asked for something). Location of this property was good with the exception of a few (unfortunate) homeless individuals walking around across the street and yelling at you as you walk past them - it was great having Starbucks and 7-Eleven within walking distance of the property. The state capitol building was nearby if you're interested in seeing that structure. The wedding we attended was in that building so it was appreciative of the close proximity (driving) from the hotel. Although the hotel doesn't offer free breakfast, the food they serve there was great! I also enjoyed that bar area in the hotel - was definitely relaxing to grab a couple drinks and sit outside near the pool area. Highly recommend this property to visitors (even locals).

Dated old hotel with mold around the bathtub and dry rot at the base of the walls. Not what you would expect in an old nostalgic hotel. Itā€™s just dated with distasteful flooring.. nothing you would expect for the money. Air conditioning wouldnā€™t cool the bedroom area. One hot night. I donā€™t write bad reviews but this is what reviews are about. I wish someone had shared their experience before I chose this hotel. Very friendly staff but the food leaves a lot to be desired. There were a few grunts from patrons as their breakfast arrived. The $28 buffet might be a better choice.. The $50 valet parking is normal but the choice to self park is frustrating. We will definitely not be staying here when in Austin. This hotel should not be under the Hilton brand. It also smelled like.. butt. I was generous with the service rating. Bad management is what it comes down to.

A beautiful hotel right in the heart of downtown Austin. The rooms are fantastic and the views are stunning. The service was great and the valet guys are always hustling. I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you and keep up the great work.

When I checked in, the valet was pretty dismissive. I didnā€™t know there was no self parking, and parked in a valet parking spot just to check in and see what I needed to do. I was greeted by one of the valet with ā€œyou canā€™t park thereā€ no hello, hi, or welcome. I was confused and he told me he needs my keys while I was checking in. Thatā€™s fine, but I needed to unload my car still. I got everything and handed off the keys and then stumbled through the door with my luggage while the 3 bellmen were too busy goofing off together to offer to help me with the door. I left something personal in my car the 1st night and I asked for the valet to bring my car up so I could get it, and they seemed very annoyed by the request. They then asked if they could retrieve the item I needed. I said no, as it was a personal item and something I would like to get. I was then taken down a steep, dirty, wet, stairwell to the garage. The valet then watched over me while I retrieved my items. The whole situation was weird and uncomfortable. I will comment that when checking out, the lady at the valet was amazing. She opened the door, offered to help me with my bags, made small talk, and was just very friendly. Any time I went the the front desk, the team there were so kind, friendly, and helpful. I went to my room and the room is in need of a lot of maintenance. The headboard needs to be replaced. I have photos of where the pleather was peeling off from heads rubbing against it and it was disgusting. There were spots/stain on the sheets and mold around the tub. The guest chair at the desk in the living room needs to be replaced or cleaned. Also there was a stain on the couch. The remote in the master didnā€™t work and maintenance came up and fixed it. He was very nice and friendly. The phone in the living room didnā€™t work, only the one in the bedroom worked. The ac never stopped. It was running the entire time I was there unless I turned it completely off. I was very disappointed with not only the experience with the valet staff, but the cleanliness and upkeep of the room. The price was way too high for that quality of the stay.

Great location for us because we were going to the Moody Center. Paid for an upgraded room and had headboards that looked like they've been falling apart for some time. Rooms need a good amount of updating. But our Capital view was great!

Iā€™ve stayed in this hotel in the past. Unfortunately, it is poorly run. Itā€™s also in renovation with all the smells and noises one encounters when a building is under construction. I wonā€™t be back if I can help it. This is the second time I have been there that I felt I had overpaid significantly for the experience received. The only thing decent I experienced was the air conditioning in the room did work and the bed was reasonably comfortable. This is a hotel that caters to business travelers with business the State Capital. Itā€™s a very visible example of Hilton not paying attention to their core business which is serving business travelers.

Extremely displeased with my stay. The hotel advertises a balcony with the king suite, and upon arrival, I was told that the outdoor space wasnā€™t accessible to all guests. I booked specifically for the balcony feature. If I had known that the balcony was not an available amenity, I couldā€™ve saved money and stayed in a different hotel. Also, parking at this hotel is $51 a night. Save yourselves the headache and choose a nearby parking deck, or choose a different hotel. This location does not remind me of the warm and welcoming atmosphere that the Doubletree usually provides. I will never return.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here this summer. Both rooms were wonderful, both rooms could use new furniture from normal wear. The pool this time was cloudy and could use some care. Having a little kitchen is always a nice feature. I would for sure stay again.

After reading some of the reviews prior to staying here, I have to say I arrived with a sense of trepidation. But here is my take: the folks doing the valet parking were extremely courteous and answered the questions I had, the gentlemen at the front desk (sorry I didnā€™t learn names) were friendly and helpful, my room was clean and the air conditioner more than did the job. It was also very quiet at night, which is a big plus. I spent four nights here and enjoyed it very much.

Excellent service and location! The valets were great and efficient, headed by Jacob-the whole team was superb, especially given the onslaught of cars of folks who were helping their kids move. Inside we got delicious complimentary warm cookies. Room service was excellent and quick. Great experience!

I stayed here twice recently and in our second trip to the hotel, had a medical emergency within our travel party. The hotel staff was so helpful and accommodating. They helped us with our luggage, rooms and vehicles, and with the paramedics on site. Joe really went above and beyond at the front desk. Superb service.

I don't write reviews very often. But as I sit here writing this the hotel is performing some unannounced/unexpected maintenance in the room above me. Like removing tile or flooring with what sounds like a jackhammer (to the point that my ears are ringing and I'm certain it is over the allowable decibels for me to not be wearing ear protection) as I try to work and hold business calls and meetings. I don't think that I would have even have written a review if, when the front desk was informed that is was going on - they moved the person from the floor below me. Now up to the floor above me. Honestly, I know that hotels have maintenance or other things like this that come up from time to time (fire alarm testing, etc). That is not the issue. It is the fact that there was zero notice given ahead of time, no warning. Just as I was talking on a Teams call the noise began and without being able to hear or be heard I had to leave the call and send an apology email. A simple note and I would have been sitting happily in another area of the hotel or at a Starbucks. *By the way, the service at the front desk, valet stand, restaurant was very very good. This isn't a review toward them. I really enjoyed the other aspects of the hotel. It is really lack of management respect for their guests time and ear drums that deserves one star.

Room was spacious and quiet. All staff were very friendly. Special thanks to Jacob Carter at the front desk for helping us out, on a last minute change that had to be made to our presentation, and printing our revised copies.

Room was not as clean as expected and hotel had various issues. 1 elevator was down and the other was very slow. TV did not have guide or menu option or it did not work. had to flip channels slowly to find something to watch. The channel changing had a slow lag to it and the volume would skip often. Co-Worker found a syringe in his room on floor by the bed. How this gets missed by cleaning crew before check-in is beyond me.

I just waited for 20 minutes for the elevator to bring a stroller down. After 2 full elevator loads passed by I decided to leave this review. Apparently the second elevator has been down for weeks. I highly recommend you call and check to see if its fixed before you book. Nothing is more frustrating. Probably spent an extra 45 minutes just waiting over the weekend. Side note - The staff and valet has had great service and has been as accommodating as they can be but corporate needs to get on the ball and get this fixed.

The suite with two queen beds was excellent! Very spacious, perfect for a family of four with two teenagers who need their own space. Large study desk that can be pulled out and becomes a family dining table! Lovely kitchen area with sink, toaster, large fridge, dishwasher, stove top and microwave ! Cleaning service was very efficient. Excellent buffet breakfast with extremely cordial staff. They even gave me a takeout breakfast box for my teenager who was still in bed at 10 AM! There is a 7-11 nearby - just a 2ā€“3 minutes walk where you can get all your basic groceries. Starbucks on same side of road as the hotel. In all I highly recommend this hotel!!

Most of the room's carpet was water damaged, the entrance area still soaked. I forget which floor, 3rd or 5th. I didn't try asking to be moved, I was okay with it staying solo for one night, the bedroom was totally fine. Nice room setup otherwise. Lobby was awesome, good food. Convenient location for having a good time in downtown Austin.

I stayed in this hotel because I wanted to be in a decent location but not in the middle of all the craziness. PROS * The staff was amazing, 5 stars for the staff. They were kind and very helpful Some rooms do have nice views CONS *$40 to park your car per night. You'd think you're at a Four Seasons at these rates. Pretty ridiculous *Carpets/Room smells musky. I had to call front desk and ask if they put me in a smoker's room because the smell was pretty off putting. They ended up moving me to another room and....same thing. *Furniture is old and peeling. *Decor is depressing. Everything in the room is dark brown and old. *The shower/tub was very tiny with a mediocre shower head. * The pool area was very disappointing (last time I went it was under maintenance too so there's that...) but in either case it was a regular motel style pool. *Jacuzzi is broken * The restaurant/bar only opens for "breakfast" Even though there were many choices within walking distance, it was upsetting that there was nothing about the hotel itself is a let down. It is in SERIOUS need of an update/renovations. It can be a great spot but as of now, it just lacks on every front

The hotel itself was great. Very clean, quiet, comfortable. Location is a little far from downtown but manageable. The hotel front desk staff including a "supervisor" were the rudest, most unhelpful people I've ever met! We had been traveling all day and asked the hotel if there was anyway we could check in early -- they didn't let us check in until almost exactly 4pm! Then we were shocked with a $75 PER NIGHT incidental hold. This severely impacted our budget for our vacation and we were told there was "nothing they could do." Unbelievably rude.

I had two rooms for my group. As a diamond member I used my food and beverage credit to cover my breakfast costs and I purchased the "breakfast included" rate for the others. Breakfast was a bust (1/10 - would not recommend). The quality of the food was less than what we typically get for free at Hampton Inn & Suites. On top of that the breakfast does not open until 7am which is way too late for a hotel that markets itself to the business traveler. Breakfast needs to be open at 6am so that we can be on the road by 7am on our way to client meetings. That leads me to my other disappointment with this location. They have closed their business center. I was not able to print out last minute documents that I needed for the day unless I emailed them to the front desk and had them printed there. While this was an effective solution to the problem it was not efficient by any stretch of the imagination. Even with all of that being said, I still rate this location as 4/5 based on the amazing people working there. Almost everyone was helpful and a few truly went above and beyond. Aleysha at the front desk helped me through the process of emailing the documents I needed to print. Later, when I needed to send a letter home, she apologized that the front desk did not have any stamps to sell and went into her own purse to get me a stamp while refusing my attempts to reimburse her. This is the kind of customer service that has kept me coming back to Hilton at average of 60 nights a year!

Great location, nice rooms. Disappointed with the sneaky advertising of ā€˜free breakfastā€™ only to arrive and find that it only includes two people despite the size of your party staying in the room. This would not be an issue if the breakfast was of good value but at $21 it ought to be 2x the size with a wide variety of items. I know inflation itā€™s biting everyone in the butt but this makes me think that hotels are going the way of airlines with bare minimum amenities and fee for service beyond that. Want your room cleaned? You need to book that 24 hrs in advance. However if you are looking for a comfortable room and central stay this is a decent choice.

Terrific staff and stay. All staff were more than accommodating, particularly KD on the front desk and all the valet/bell staff. They worked to make sure details were covered and any request was quickly and efficiently handled. These are tough times to get great and capable people in the service industry-the entire hotel was run well and extremely clean and well-tended. Professional and above expectations. Thank you for making the trip especially pleasant.

The night staff was fantastic. Unfortunately the day time front desk folks were not super personable or helpful; our whole party felt that we were inconveniencing them during check in and by asking pretty basic questions which was a bummer because the rooms were great and clean and the rest of the experience was great.

Hotel and room were good. 1 star for the valet. It was 11pm when we needed our car and they could not get it out. Once they got it out and pulled up, we still couldn't get out due to how small the driveway is. I had to leave the car in front of the hotel and walk to my reservation i was already late to. Front desk person working did not do anything but say sorry and when i submitted the review I am sure the same front desk worker that was working that night also responded back with a boilerplate response.

I was disappointed with the service in a nearby hotel and moved to Doubletree with crossed fingers. Oh my goodness, I was so glad I did. Becky checked me in. Her warmth, hospitality and customer service was mind blowing. I felt at home. It was as though she welcomed me to her home. All the hotel staff were friendly and helpful as well. The room was clean and worth the price. I was impressed and will recommend this particular hotel to anyone going to Austin as it was a drastic change from the previous hotel I ran from. Thanks once again Becky. You made my stay a wonderful story to write home about.

I am a business traveler. Very friendly place. Our breakfast server was super friendly and professional and went out of his way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. A rare thing nowadays. I would stay at and recommend this hotel because of him. The hotel was a little dated but had spacious rooms, adequate amenities, and an accommodating staff willing to help. The rooms are quiet and the air conditioning works well.

Wonderful 2 bed suite with kitchenette. Clean, quiet, and comfortable. I would book here again, especially for a longer stay. Valet is a bit pricey, ($50, one night stay. Not sure if this is more if you stay longer or a flat fee) but it was worth not having to deal with a parking garage in a different location. A special thank you to Jim for getting us into our room a bit earlier than check in. We stayed at a time of busy concert schedules at Moody Center. Jim made the day much easier to prep for by getting us in our room earlier. We had a lovely trip and hope to stay again! Thanks, Jim!

The people! The service was absolutely wonderful. The Beverage Manager Robert stood out - he was extremely attentive and had some great creations in the bar. Room needs a refresh but front desk was helpful trying to get us new room for our second night because our room smelled strongly of bleach and carpet was wet from cleaning (I guess being too clean shouldnā€™t have been a reason to complain but smell was very strong). In the end the people made up for any drawbacks due to property needing a remodel - would have been 5 stars.
