BUYER
BEWARE!!
I
checked
in
for
a
Friday/Saturday
night
stay.
My
debit
card
was
charged
$460
for
the
cost
of
the
room
for
two
nights
on
Friday
when
I
checked
in.
On
Saturday,
I
woke
up
and
another
$240
was
taken
out
of
my
checking
account.
I
went
to
the
front
desk
and
was
given
the
excuse
of,
"Well,
the
$460
was
a
hold
to
make
sure
the
money
is
there
to
pay
for
the
two
nights,
and
the
$240
was
the
cost
of
the
room
for
last
night."
Went
around
and
around
for
about
10
minutes
about
this
flawed
logic.
Woke
up
Sunday
morning
to
another
$238
charge
for
the
room,
which
has
now
drained
over
$900
from
my
checking
account.
When
I
went
to
check
out,
I
asked,
"So
how
much
am
I
getting
back?"
The
EXACT
same
person
I
spoke
with
Saturday
morning
said,
"Your
total
charges
were
$467.00."
Yes,
and
you
took
$940
out
of
my
checking
account.
She
again
tried
to
explain
that
the
initial
$460
charge
was
to
ensure
that
the
"money
was
there"
to
pay
for
the
two
nights.
Then
she
stopped
herself
after
looking
at
the
charge
history
and
said,
"This
doesn't
make
sense.
Why
did
we
do
this?"
The
other
person
at
the
counter
said,
"That's
our
policy
on
the
weekend,
so
we
know
that
the
room
is
actually
paid
for.
You'll
get
your
initial
charge
back
in
SEVEN
TO
TEN
BUSINESS
DAYS."
I
budgeted
$500
for
the
weekend,
not
$947.
This
logic
is
FLAWED.
You
already
charged
me
$460
when
I
checked
in,
so
you
HAD
the
money.
What
about
people
who
don't
have
that
type
of
flexibility?
Maybe
they've
saved
for
a
while
to
be
able
to
spend
a
weekend
with
family
in
Lakeway.
This
is
a
complete
rip-off.
I
usually
stay
at
Holiday
Inn
Express
when
I
travel
for
work,
and
sometimes
on
vacations.
This
is
the
first
experience
I
have
had
like
this,
and
it
will
be
the
LAST
time
I
stay
at
a
Holiday
Inn
Express.
