I would give this venue negative stars. We were treated extremely poorly by the staff and kicked for laughing too loud at a comedy show. The staff hovered behind us & every time we laughed the staff stepped straight up to shhh us. My husband was pushed out of the venue by multiple bouncers for laughing. I still can’t believe it. No refunds for an expensive private table. They also charged us full tip on a tab we didn’t get to close ourselves. We didn’t even get to see the act we paid for. Ruined our week. The worst venue management I have ever met & I am an event manager.

Our experience at Vulcan was pretty good. We purchased our tickets on the main website and made sure we read over ALL the rules and seating arrangements for each specific ticket. Do that and you shouldn’t have any problems. We actually met another couple who had purchased a table of four as well and the front let us combine our table cause our seats were better. I thought that was very nice. It’s super tight inside and getting a drink from the bar might take a minute or two. My one thing was during the Kill Tony Show I had said something to my husband and one of the servers turned around and shhh’d me super loud. That was a bit much in my opinion, but other than that no complaints. The rooftop patio was cool to party on and meeting some of the standup comedians was super fun. I’d go back for another Kill Tony for sure.

They take the fun out of comedy. Be prepared to have your phone confiscated and locked up while you are inside. They have a LONG list of rules and aggressive staff absolutely delighted to reprimand guest for perceived infractions. There are plenty of fun and relaxing places to see comedy here. Skip this joy-less, fun-sucking place.

Bought “bar seats” and thought I had reserved seats at the bar since I selected them on there website in the bar section and we ended up being seated on the second floor with no view of the stage. Don’t waste your money on this scam, I will never go back. I wish I could give it 0 stars.

I feel like I really need to balance the scales here, because I made the mistake of reading the reviews before I went to the Kill Tony show and I became increasingly less enthusiastic about seeing a comedy show that I came all the way from Chicago to see- but I had a fantastic time! The show itself was amazing, Tony and redban are even better live! The prices were fair (especially compared to the Chicago prices that I am used to paying) and the staff was at sweet as can be! No one in our party was shushed, kicked out, or overcharged. We will be back for sure!

My experience seeing Joe Rogan the other night was great. The staff was nothing but polite and attentive to us and the show was very fun. They will only kick you out or tell you to be quiet if you are talking during the show, which is what they should do! The table next to us was kicked out after being given 3 warnings, and we were quite happy as their talking was distracting from the event we paid a lot of money for. Heads up, the drinks are double the cost of a normal bar (our tab was $50 for 5 modelo cans and 2 water bottles). Though I am still giving 5 stars because beyond those high bar prices, we were pleased with our experience. I left my wallet there and didn’t realize until the next day, but it was securely kept behind the bar for me. So the staff is trustworthy if something like that were to happen, which is nice to know. As long as you’re a kind and considerate guest, you will be treated with respect.

This is a no laugh comedy club. I wasn't kicked out but was told so many times to stop laughing that I just left before Joe Rogan even got on stage. Was told repeatedly that I'm not being kicked out and I understood that but I felt like I couldn't even enjoy my time so I left. And wasn't even being loud. A guy in the corner next to me literally kept making comments to the stage but the guy never approach him and tell him to be quiet. But the rules are no talking?.. not laughing to much.. am I understanding that correct? I wouldn't recommend to someone that's actually looking to have a good time.

Went to a secret show here on a Thursday evening. No pictures because they take your phone and lock it in a bag during the show. Not a big deal to me but for you people that can’t go without your phone just prepare yourself. The lineup was pretty good. A nice mix of some know comedians and some not so much. The lineup was huge, something like 15 comedians that night. Overall a great show! Staff was hit or miss, nothing special or overly helpful. Still a great place to check out for sure.

“Terrible customer service at venue's entrance. Disorganized ticketing review and allowance method. Besides, the entrance staff seem to have "power issues". I paid for my ticket, but was impeded to enter due to a clear case of abuse of power, inflexibility, and inability to engage in a civilized dialog in a professional manner. Given the high level of presenters and guests this venue is purporting to host, I think they could do much better to hire trained ushers and receptionists, not a team of brute "macho men", resembling a Chicago Mafia team in the heart of ATX. The motto of the most successful service oriented companies and institutions: "The customer or client is akways right. Listen to conplaints, acknowkedge them, find a workable solution, bottom line" seem to be unknown for these people. Instead, the mottos of dictatorships and criminal institutions lije Mafias seem to be the only one they know. And, ironically, this is a venue that hosts presenters like #Joe Rogan.

Went to a comedy show here. It's a cool venue but I purchased $30 preferred first floor seating and first floor was full so the only open seating was upstairs on the back side of each 4 top table along the balcony. That's obviously fine if you really want to see the comedian. But when we got there, the people sharing our table right up by the balcony were sitting right up on the balcony rail and we couldn't see the comedians on the stage. Why they charge the same cost for every seat first or second floor, obstructed view or not is beyond me. Please don't mislead people on their experience. Charge less for anything past the seats directly behind the second level front row balcony. Watching a live comedy show on a small TV at the comedy show is not worth $30.

I wish I could rate this venue higher but they cancelled the show with less than a week's notice because another act was willing to rent out the venue for more money. No acts should ever book here since there's a chance the venue will cancel your show for a bigger one.

The Unspoken 3 Strike Policy With No: The bouncers fail to communicate that there is a 3 strike policy, with a strike being anything the bouncer deemed too loud and not a laugh. Is it 3 strikes for one person? No, it’s for a table of four, so I hope you didn’t miss the warning while you weren’t even there. Don’t expect to get something along the lines of: “final warning”, that’s far too advanced customer service for them. If they ask you to leave, you probably won’t be able to close your tab. I saw the table next to us and my own table get kicked out for talking at levels that were acceptable at every other venue I’ve been to. The people sitting next to us flew in from out of state to see their favorite comedians, 2 of them were loud once, and then they were gone. Moral of the story is: if you want the atmosphere and quality of a stand up show, but with the security of a Netflix Special, this place might still think you’re being loud. And no refunds of course.

I attended this venue for the first time the other night to see Joe Rogan do some stand up. What a great space! The staff was just as impressive, from the hosts, wait staff, bartenders and management, all outstanding. Super cool vibe and people. Check this place out for sure. If you are looking for something to do from out of town while in Austin, this is a great spot to experience live entertainment.🖖

Still waiting for a response from Big Laugh as we had a really unpleasant experience just TRYING to get to the show. Twice we came to the door (9:30 and 9:50p) and were told we could not come in AND the show wouldn't start until 10:30p despite selling tickets for 10p. 6th street was a madhouse and we really wanted to enjoy the comedy show we paid for NOT stand in the street for an hour with a bunch of wasted people and be accosted by others. We had to leave just to be safe. This was a HUGE disappointment and really, really uncool. We reached out immediately for a refund and, several days later, still have no response. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS.

Husband and I went to see one of our favorite comedians and seating was awful. We had GA seats and arrived about 15 minutes before doors opened. We were seated at the very far end of the bar (literally last seats available) and it was off to the side of the stage and very hard to see the comedian. The comedian did a lot of crowdwork but we missed a lot of the jokes because we couldn’t hear the audience responses. I had never been to this venue before and was disappointed they would even sell seats in that location.

I used to love coming to this place. All the seating had a great view of the stage- whether you were upstairs or downstairs. Then they got greedy and started selling “no view” seats for the Kill Tony show (which has since moved venues). These seats can only watch the stage from a TV mounted on the wall…. If you try to walk literally a few feet over to the balcony to see the action live, they have very nasty employees waiting to yell at you to get back to your seats. There is no advantage being there versus watching the show on YouTube a day later… for free and from the comfort of your own couch. Im thrilled KT left their venue and am hoping they’ve reverted to a better guest experience now that they don’t have such a popular show there. Even so, I won’t be back.

Went to a comedy show on 7/22, was worried after reading the reviews. But we had a great experience, no issues getting in before showtime (7:30). The tables are packed together but wasn't uncomfortable. Everyone was able to laugh and interact with the comedians, didn't see anyone get shushed or asked to quiet down. Drinks were average price, no complaints

We had a great time at Vulcan Gas last evening, 7:00 show…David Nihill kept everyone laughing through every part of the show. Great insights, stories…refreshing to hear smart comedy rather than some of the stand up out there today. Highly recommend catching one of his shows! The Vulcan is a great venue….it was a packed house but, no hitches in getting in, very systematic & orderly. There was a review about the venue giving away seats …the venue did text prior to the show asking us to confirm so maybe those reviewers didn’t confirm? Also, FYI the Yondr pouches they lock your phone in stay with you & they quickly unlock them as you leave. I read some bad reviews about bouncers tossing patrons for “laughing” & have to think they had to be pretty obnoxious because there was plenty of loud laughter last night without patrons getting escorted out. Buy your tickets through the venue or the performer & you shouldn’t have any hitches. Lastly, going early gives you plenty of parking options also. Try the Vulcan out for a comedy show- we would visit again!

Super tight seating and funny comedians. Took a star off bc they paid absolutely no attention to the restrooms, so know if you're drinking you're going to have to use them. Our show was the early one at 7:30 and there was no soap, and only 2 of the 4 stalls in the women's was functional, with 1 being taped off and the handicapped having no door on it. It obviously had not been cleaned/stocked/attended to before the show, or at any recent point from the demolished appearance.

This venue is amazing! The staff is mostly friendly and very helpful. We had a great time overall. The place was clean, and the event was a hit! They have paid parking next to it with cameras. Super safe location. Police arrive quickly in the event of an issue.

Caught Jeff Arcuri's late show on his first night in Austin. It was our first comedy show and had no idea what to expect, but things went smoothly. Venue and staff were nice. Only downsides were the wait getting into the venue (but that's understandable) and the drinks were incredibly expensive, but that's true for just about everything on 6th St, so can't really fault the venue on that one either. Will def visit again if the right act is in town.

I came to the late night Friday show and had a blast! I’ve been a little down in the dumps so I haven’t been going out as much. I was nervous to commit to this outing, but I’m so glad I did! The show was great and the company was even better! We had the nicest bartender (I think her name was Ally) and she made the crispest, most refreshing casamigos margarita on the rocks. Had to order a few of those because they were so bomb! She was very attentive and very down to earth! All in all, I’m happy I came out. Very satisfying night!

Had a great experience at the show last night. Not a bad seat in the house. Fast and friendly customer service.

Small, politically incorrect comedy club that delivers an overall enjoyable experience. It was my first comedy club experience. Would have liked them to offer at least some kind of cocktail menu but it's fine, I came to laugh not to drink. When you walk in they lock your phone in some kind of case locker you carry with you that they unlock at the exit. When I asked the bouncer why they do that and he said it's to prevent people from cancelling the comics. Fair play on that part, i get it. I booked tickets an hour before and expected a half empty hall since i noticed it's empty when I reserved a seat but when I arrived the front rows were all filled so it's not a venue many buy tickets for ahead of time, which is nice for those on the fly people. Plus, the tickets are affordable compared to mothership, only $20. I went to the event tonight where the comics perform before and after smoking a joint, so that was a very interesting concept to be a part of.

The reviews are true. They’ll reprimand you for laughing or even engaging quietly with the show. Absolutely unprofessional and uncalled for behavior from staff members. They asked to see my phone because of “recording”… unbelievable and will never come back. One of the comics even went along with some audience members and made some funny jokes off what they had to say, but the audience members were then removed from the building. So sad to be afraid during a comedy show that you might be enjoying it too much ): I understand removing and cracking down on hecklers, but removing people that are genuinely enjoying the experience through laughter? Insane. Owners need to get on this.

Last minute, we decided to go to a show, the show was great, drinks were great, good experience, no complaints. What stood out the most was the fact that we were being accosted by someone (not related to Vulcan) outside while we were purchasing the tickets. The bouncers quickly ushered us inside and handled the situation extremely professionally.

Great comedy club but only buy tickets on their website or at the door. Bought my first tickets on stub hub and got scammed. I heard multiple people with same issue . However, bought ticket at door and glad I got in . Ron white was amazing and Joe Rogan took it another level higher. Genius . No phones or pics but great memories . Must see
