life
is
filled
with
a
lot
of
choices
and
decisions:
where
will
we
go
and
spend
our
time?
what
things
deserve
our
hard-earned
money?
where
can
we
find
community?
what
place
can
feel
like
a
home
away
from
home?
for
me,
ELYSIUM
checks
all
of
these
boxes
and
it
starts
with
the
staff.
from
the
moment
you
approach
the
venue
to
every
interaction
with
security,
ticket
staff
or
bartenders,
you
just
feel
welcome.
i
say
this
as
someone
from
out-of-town
(NJ/NYC)
who
shows
up
alone
with
only
sometimes
a
guarantee
of
knowing
one
of
the
artists
or
performers;
it
could
be
easy
to
feel
invisible,
but
they
don't
let
you.
🥰
so
perhaps
the
whole
reason
for
going
is
the
talent
and
there's
no
shortage
of
it
gracing
the
elysium
stage
-
from
spotlighting
insanely
local
artists
to
booking
dates
on
national
tours,
it's
always
worth
it
to
see
who's
playing
when
i'm
in
town
or
if
i'm
seeking
a
good
reason
to
take
a
trip.
✈
over
the
last
year,
my
personal
highlights
have
been
the
SXSW
showcase
in
march
(stoneburner
&
curse
mackey),
the
chant
show
in
may,
the
american
dream
tour
in
june
(eva-x,
moris
blak
&
danny
blu)
and
the
voltaire
and
ego
likeness
shows
in
july.
i've
never
heard
a
bad
show
at
elysium,
so
that
also
says
a
lot
about
the
amazing
sound
and
tech
staff.
😎
so
while
you're
standing
there
just
taking
it
in
or
lounging
on
a
couch
and
feeling
at
home,
there's
a
good
chance
john
will
come
up
to
you
and
thank
you
for
coming
out...and
when
you
want
to
look
back
on
those
amazing
nights,
you
can
thank
roi
for
his
photography
that
truly
captures
the
essence
of
the
performers
and
the
energy
of
the
show.
🤩
all
in
all,
the
comfortable
layout
of
the
venue,
the
caliber
of
performers
coming
through,
the
experience
and
courtesy
while
you're
there
and
the
engagement
online
is
what
keeps
me
coming
and
recommending
this
place
to
others.
thank
you
to
all
for
welcoming
me
into
the
alternative
ATX
community.
