This place is incredible! My only regret is I didn't bring any bathers to have a dip! It's such a good way to spend the day with the kids, family or mates. We saw alot of people come here on their lunch break from work too and stay for a feed. Beautiful views of Brisbane and plenty of spots to set up. Highly recommend getting here early though. We went on a Thursday afternoon during work hours and it was extremely busy! Get in early to secure the best spots.

Fantastic lagoons, different size lagoons for different swimming levels, life guards on duty, lovely walking paths through luscious gardens, plenty of areas to relax and picnic, kids train to ride through the area as well. Bring a picnic lunch for the food outlets and restaurants there can be a bit pricey. Also in the gardens, you can spot lizzards, we saw five on our day out. If you are coming from Ipswich, it's a nice train ride, just change at Central or Roma St, get the South bank train and get off at South bank train station. It's only about an 800 metre walk from South bank train station. There is excellent wheelchair access on the trains and in the southbank lagoons. I recommend spending the whole day there, and nearly everything is free. Oh and if Dad's a fisherman, or the kids, bring a couple of rods, the lagoons are on the river so all the family are catered for

Another part of the awesome Southbank complex, just a bit downstream from the fabulous Streets Beach. As the name suggests, a perfect spot for kids to splash about and play, with cool water features and pools. Highly recommend visiting if with a family and in the area.

Infested with children and families - hard to even find a spot to put our belongings down. However it's a lovely place to cool down on a hot summer's day
