I have been working as a community care professional for over 13 years and during my time, I have never encountered such a poor mental health specialist. If you have mental health concerns then I strongly encourage you to do yourself a favour and look elsewhere. Dulip Dharmage will see a client with complex mental health concerns for honestly less than 5 minutes, prescribe medications (IF required), absolutely no form of counselling/coping mechanisms/strategies etc before booking in another appointment for 3 months time. This has been an ongoing issue for years however the extent of his poor practice was only unearthed recently. I truly believe that this man is dangerous for people who genuinely require the assistance and skills of a psychiatrist. Absolutely appalled by what I witnessed and if I could rate zero stars then I would because one star is doing Dulip Dharmage a favour. I will also be referring this matter further but I wanted anyone in the public who may be looking for assistance to be aware. Look after yourself and find a Psychiatrist that will do the same.

I was referred to Dr Dulip by my GP. After 2 visits I was informed after a month that he could no longer help me and didn't even refer me to someone else. All I wanted was therapy, not to be sold drugs and told to come back in 5 months, and spend $8000 on something else I don't need. What does it take to get some general therapy around here? Very disappointed and this has made me feel even worse about myself.

Shocking service. Receptionist is rude and unhelpful, I didn’t even get the opportunity to attend my appointment after being told DR. Pasan was not interested in retreating me nor did I receive an alternative or better suited doctor to treat me. Being “interested” in the conditions you are treating is not paramount to giving people the healthcare they need- do your bloody job. This is where people slip through the cracks. Disgusting.

Dr.Das was rude and did not listen to what i was saying to the level he would ask me a question after i just explained the exact thing he was asking about. Made assumptive comments about my circumstances after 30mins and i left feeling more dismissed and misunderstood than when i walked in

Booked an appointment for a zoom Telehealth on a work day because the doctor doesn’t work other days and got a phone call two days before saying I’m expected to come into the office or I won’t be seen. Disgusting group of people. Don’t waste your time.

Use a voice recorder on your person or take a support person whom can take good consult notes - You will need this!! A very dishonest medical professional - Be WARNED!!

Ignored requests for correspondence over the course of 6 business days on an urgent matter, I later learnt they had read all of them. Refused to update me on the fact that the doctor I was referred to had refused to see me. Did not ask for my consent or let me know that they were planning on transferring me to another psychiatrist "whenever someone popped up that would take me" Horrendous all around.

Disgusting, dismissive, no emotion from reception and psychiatrists. Also psychologist absolutely useless place should be investigated

Dr "sagi* De Fonseka -Having attempted to speak to her I can only write my side of how I feel my treatment was. - incredibly empathetic when fails to recognise you on two occasions 6 months apart. Reading from wrong paitents file. -motivational interviewing consists of telling you to simpley live of welfare -Biggest concern is a consultant Psychiatrist that cannot tell the difference between sleep & a disaccotive episode but doesn't question or voice any concern about you getting in a car during peak hour if you were asleep or disacotive during an apt. -Doesnt hand over to other practitioners unless "she wish to clarify a statement a patient has made" then the practitioner reciving the letter talks to you about the statement you have made again to confirm you wish to maintain what you have said writing a letter on another organisation's time & then uploading it to that organisation paitent record even though she has never seen you there. (So she has made unlawful access to my healthcare record) - As she shouldn't be accessing or using my file as she doesn't see me at this facility (Monash) should be questioning her use of time. Using public consulting time to write letters regarding paitents she sees & charges privately at her consulting rooms on other days could be seen as double dipping.. -she also acused of not turning up for a hospital admission which was verbally spoken about. Yet there was no paper work the doctor who was looking after me left a message for the doctor who was suposed to be admiting me he had no Idea about it. Admission coordinator also had no idea about the planned admission. - Medication I was not on scripts sent to pharmacy on 3 occassions. (Kept incase required as proof) -dosages of two medications always right on inpatient admissions.( also kept) -Then put back on wrong dosage on discharge. - I have since had two diffrent opinion's seperate from each other questioning clinics prescribing & use of freqent lengthy inpatient admissions where no significant changes were made. - Runs into trouble discharges you without cancellation of apt GP states hasent got discharge summary from her advised by reception it hasent been done yet this call was made on the 26th of the month the discharge summary then has the 15th of the same month - Hopfully the receptionist didn't realise the discharge summary was done and didn't send it to the GP.
