😠 I called as I was really worried about my son and was told someone would go to his property to assess him. I live in the country and as I know my son well, I knew he was becoming psychotic. He has been under the care of Bankstown COMHET for several years. He was assessed and I was told “he’s fine”....

I called as I was really worried about my son and was told someone would go to his property to assess him. I live in the country and as I know my son well, I knew he was becoming psychotic. He has been under the care of Bankstown COMHET for several years. He was assessed and I was told “he’s fine”. An hour later he had burnt down his property. He was clearly not fine. The girl I spoke to told me she had never met my son before. Neither he nor I have had an apology about this deplorable failure in duty of care. I will make a formal complaint.

I had a really good experience with the clinical psychologist there. She was so supportive and always there for me. She also had appreciation for anime which is great.

I sought this organisation's help for my child but all they were interested in doing was blaming and reporting us. They put words into my child's mouth, spoke over my child, raised a sensitive family topic (suicide of a family member which my child wasn't aware about) with a total lack of respect and dignity for us, and then reported us. Very insensitive, unempathetic and unprofessional. Avoid them as they only want to blame, create anxiety and they're totally unhelpful. My child didn't want to go back to them as my child felt that it was a 2 hour-long (just over 2 hours) interrogation, blaming, being spoken over the top of and putting words into mouths. We came to them for help but they exploited us and aggravated an emotionally-difficult time for our family. You go to them for help and they report you instead. I'm reporting them. They should be defunded.

The worst do not even bother with them. They don’t help individuals, the lack of effort and help they provide is very concerning. Have to beg for a text back or a phone call, is this what you call professional help? They ask you what do you want instead of actually helping, will be reporting for negligence.

It’s pretty awful, no ones organised and it’s super demotivating when you’re trying to get help for the first time, makes you want to change ur mind about it

I have received long-term care from BCHC, first at home from nursing staff and then as I got better with regular visits to their clinic. Vina and the staff are the most caring and professional people who provided me with quality medical support and helped me learn to manage and improve my condition. A wonderful team!

Here’s my CAMHSTeam Review Dr Lavnya Vijayarajan: 0/5 Abhorrent treatment from her. I was continually gaslighted by her with the same sentence each and every session. Examples? 1.”You see us once a week and other’s don’t get that opportunity.” Once a week for hourly sessions of downtalking and gaslighting. 2.”Remember it’s your time with us.” 3.”We can only help you if you tell us what’s happening.” I sure did but interestingly enough all those notes you jotted down were into the oblivion and never brought up in subsequent sessions again. And questionably I was slapped with a diagnosis of which I personally believe don’t meet much of its criteria to a diagnostic extent. Observational and subjective bias played well with this moron. Another thing is she insulted my mom behind her back when I had to wait outside for a 5 minutes. Just to let you know the cubicle walls were paper thin and every single word could be heard. Nurse: 1/5 Was really only superficially nice and friendly. Behind that she was revolting just like the Dr, rather in a more subtle twofaced tone. You could see it through her. Therapist: 1/5 Friendly but too friendly. Therapy wasn’t really therapy. Bear cards, art and sensory toys, really? It was also awkward beyond words. Art therapy didn’t seem to work with me so I definitely brought it up immediately, but same with the Dr, my words were written into the void. If you ever stumble upon this review and are a newly referred patient here, think twice before saying things or you may be misdiagnosed. On another note in short CAMHS is a simply just a clown show with most its workers carrying egos larger than their stature which notably causes them to struggle in communicating with patients with decency.
