Famous for the big Marino and home of fine wool. For a beautiful panorama of Goulburn, head to the tower lookout at the Rocky Hill War Memorial and Museum. A highly recommended stop point if travelling from South to North or North to South. Great township with great food, views, friendly people and a place to make or remember fondest memories.

One of the famous “big” things in Australia. This is actually a shop that sells a lot of merino products including clothes and shirts, also hats and kids toys. Great place for souvenirs.

On the journey to or from Canberra or Sydney, this is a good place to stop. The cafes near Big Merino are excellent. Most significantly, there is fuel close by.

They moved the structure at some point so it's easier to get to, but the view out of the eye at the top is not so good. Still, it's a fun stop between Sydney and Canberra in and there is lots of information in a photo exhibit on your way up to the top. There is also a gift shop, but I found it to be on the expensive side, and most of the stuffed animals were not made in Australia.

It's BIG! Not quite as famous as its other big things brethren, but definitely more useful items in the gift shop. Beware of the high traffic as a result of the petrol station, Subway and Trapper's across the road

The big Merino is in the corner of Hume and, Sowerby St, Goulburn NSW. Nicknamed "Rambo" by locals, the Big Merino contains a gift shop on the ground floor and a wool display on the second floor which it was closed at the time I visited the Rambo, not sure about the reason. The Big Merino, built in 1985. Standing 15.2 meters high, 18 meters long and weighing 97 tones at the time of construction. The complex was opened on September 20 1985. Normally it is not busy but the date I visited it was long weekend and school holidays which made it extremely busy. Lots of restaurants and cafe nearby to dine in. I loved the gift shop in the ground floor. The gift shop was full of good quality made in Australia specifically made in Goulburn items. I liked the wild Australian animals made with wool section.

It was a great place to visit The Big Merino is huge way bigger than I ever anticipated. It also had some beautiful things in the gift shop but it was extremely expensive. Too expensive to buy anything even the lip balm was expensive. I loved a handbag 👜 but it was $277 everything in the store was expensive, such a great shame because we would definitely wanting to purchase something for ourselves and our friends.

I have to admit that the Marino Possum is the best wool type wear I've ever had, no over heating like sheep's wool. Thank you New Zealand possum for your fur. I will cherish my hat and gloves.

You haven't been to Goulburn unless you have taken a photo of the big merino. There used to be a restaurant inside but now it's a gift shop as there are petrol stations and other fast food stores around.

We visited this landmark which is located at a rest stop where there are petrol stations and cafes. It is a very tall Merino sheep statue indeed and great for a photo momento.

Good spot to stop on way or from Canberra and Sydney. Fuel nearby. Good free wool museum in the body of the merino, head to the top for views out the eyes. Lots of good things to buy for yourself or as gifts in the shop.

One of the better BIG Things. A good selfie spot, front and back !! Plenty of parking.. On the outskirts of Goulburn..

Man, this is one big concrete sheep. I think it's concrete; I confess I didn't go up and eyeball it or touch it. If it is concrete, it is actually a pretty darn impressive sculpture, not merely for it's size but also it's visage. It's... a merino. The gift shop underneath it's behind is stocked with woollen items galore. I am a hankie guy and needed hankies and they had none (I know, I know, you don't get woollen hankies, Paul, and I know this, I was just... hoping because they do sell cloth items). Friendly lady serving me while another shopper admired handbags.

The big merino. It’s basically a big merino ram with a big set of stones. Apparently you can enter into its arse and travel up to look out its eyes! I was busy and just stopping for fuel so didn’t have time for such shenanigans.

A must see if you’re travelling through Goulburn. Great little gift shop attached to it and you can walk through the inside of the Big Merino. Kids will love it!

Magnificent stone statue that we didn’t image to see. Worth the detour from freeway and came to see it! Would be awesome if they have outdoor rock climbing on it 🧗‍♀️

The biggest Christmas Baubles I have ever seen! Awesome monument to call by when heading through Goulburn. Amazing wee city for old school architecture too.

It's huge. A fun little pit stop. The Little Shop is nice, just around the corner too.

Very busy location for a photo with the iconic big ram. There’s plenty of parking to stop for fuel and food. The bakery across the road is worth visiting, but again the area is busy and there isn’t any formal crossing area. Council need to lift to make the area more tourist and family friendly.

I got to climb the big Merino to the top and see through the eyes. The most famous landmark in Goulburn but I must say there’s much more and much better in Goulburn than the Merino.

I like this place. Shop was also good and there is a lookout point inside this big statue.
