During
a
recent
getaway
from
the
"Big
Smoke
",
my
wife
&
I
had
the
pleasure
of
spending
some
quality
time
in
the
State
Heritage-listed
Queens
Park
&
Botanical
Gardens
located
at
43
-73
Lindsay
St,
Toowoomba
QLD
4350.
Known
as
the
Garden
City,
Toowoomba
definitely
stamps
itself
as
just
that
with
plenty
of
open
green
space
in
&
around
the
local
area's.
We
spent
a
very
relaxing
time
walking
through
the
vast
open
spaces
of
the
parklands
&
then
onto
the
magnificent
Botanical
Gardens.
There
were
plenty
of
assortments
of
flowers
π&
plant's
for
the
Summer
season.
The
council
gardening
staff
are
to
be
commended
for
the
diligent
work
that
they
carry
out.
I
just
couldn't
get
over
just
how
clean
&
tidy
the
whole
place
was.
The
general
public
have
plenty
of
access
amenities
such
as
public
toilets,
drinking
water
fountains
&
open
grassed
areas
for
families
to
enjoy
picnics
or
just
running
around
with
their
children.
There
is
a
large
Playground
located
near
the
Botanical
Gardens
which
definitely
caters
for
energetic
children.
There
are
off
leash
&
leashed
areas
for
for
any
size
dogs
π
Queens
Park
is
a
hive
of
activity
during
the
Carnival
of
Flowers
held
during
the
month
of
September.
Definitely
worth
ticking
this
off
on
your
bucket
list
