We visited the Maryborough Military & Colonial Museum on the weekend and were pleasantly surprised to find it almost empty. It appears to be run by volunteers, including a lovely old lady and a man who provided us with a wealth of information about the war exhibits. The museum is definitely worth a visit for history enthusiasts. The volunteers' dedication and the informative experience made our visit memorable and enjoyable.

My wife and I attended the museum about lunchtime today. A truly amazing display of all thins military dating back to the Boer War! An exceptional array of relics, personal items and a written history to put the visitor in a front row seat! Great staff to answer any questions which was great. This is a first class military museum and we were stunned at the content and quality! Had to leave after almost 3 hours but we vie to return and make a day of it! 10/10 for a magnificent presentation!

A place filled with history and stories of brave Australian soldiers. It's a must visit place in regional Queensland which has inspiring stories to tell. Unparalleled hospitality extended by the guides in the museum towards us and our kids even after we visited almost at the closing time. It was a memorable experience for the family.

What a fantastic place to go it's one of the best war memorial places I have seen. So much to see. There is a lady who plays the piano while you walk around she is a volunteer and makes the experience even better. All the volunteers have a huge amount of knowledge ask them a question and they will have the answer 👍🏼

Maryborough has many historical buildings including this one. Unfortunately the two floods we had in recent years has closed this lovely old building until restoration issues in the lower levels can be resolved. If it opens again, well worth a visit.

Nice small museam dedicated to the military. Not many people there so you get the museum pretty much to yourself. It doesn't take long to browse through so it is worthwhile to drop by if you're just passing through.

Crammed full of memorabilia and information about Aussie war hero's and battles. Staff super friendly and informative. Our son had a fantastic time looking around, ringing bells and looking at all the medals.

We had a fabulous time at the Maryborough Colonial and Military museum. We spoke to Chris, who had exceptional knowledge of military history, specifically the Boer War. There was also a lovely man (with an impressive beard) who showed us his favourite pieces in the museum. We were taken aback by the expansive collection in the Gallipoli Room. What an experience - would recommend to anyone! If you go, look out for a furry surprise (if you know you know)

Wow this place is amazing! Nothing is like this in brissy. Lovely staff there on a Sunday and I was very proud to walk through with my children. I could spend hours there reading everything. Thank you for putting everything into this. This is a great learning experience for the next generation.
